The fact that Verizon has exclusive rights to the next Blackberry (Thunder) has got me seriously considering Verizon. But their prices will probably keep me at Sprint. This makes me more mad at Blackberry than anything. I mean did they not learn anything from Apple? Exclusive rights on a phone as popular as the Iphone should have taught them something about business tactics. I know the iphone sold like crazy but imagine if they made it for all carriers like Blackberry usually does, they would have easily doubled their sales.

I am new to the forums, and I am also a Sprint customer. I've had sprint since 1999, when it first came to my area, Spartanburg SC. I've had service with all the carriers around here, but always went back to Sprint. I was never without Sprint for more than a month. That's because I've always liked their services and it kept bringing me back each time. BUT, I hate their customer service. If I could fly to India, sometimes I think I would literally choke the CSR with their headset cord! Also, since I switched to the $99 simply everything plan, my bill has been exactly right, which is a relief after years of arguing with them! I can't help but sit here and read these posts about Verizon's curve and laugh. I mean I have been on here for at least the last month with rebuttle after rebuttle, defense after defense, and post after post defending Sprint for delaying their Curve release because of software issues. I said time and time again that Verizon only required an 80% pass rate on their curve while Sprint was requiring a 95% pass rate. No one believed me, save for a few people. Everyone doubted my sources and information (which came from Blackberry themself). Read my posts, I tried to tell everyone to be patient, a good phone is worth waiting for.

Just spoke to a friend within T-Mobile and the unofficial release date for 3G in the Seattle area is August. Along with new Android handsets.
We'll see.

Sprint seems to be falling farther behind the rest of the pack in the smartphone race and there doesn't seem to be any real attempt on their part to catch up. This is starting to be a "dealbreaker" for me as I need to get a phone and Sprints selection of the latest models is rather poor.

Is there any hope on the not too distant horizon?

So I got my hands on the Instinct and now have access to it prior to the release. Some notes so far.

What I like:
Visual Voicemail is so nice

Speech to Action is amazing, just say "send text to Joe" it takes you right to the messaging screen ready to type.

say "search, pizza" it finds the closest pizza place.

The typing was really cool, I made no mistakes.

The Haptic touch (vibrating screen) very nice.

The Internet was super fast and there are a lot of options to view web pages which is nice.

They have shortcut buttons on the key board like "www.", ".com", ".net" which is cool

Things I don't like:

You can't copy and paste. I know it's not a pda but it would have been nice.

Finally Sprint has the Curve added to Sprint.com. I work in a store and don't have the phone in stock but hopefully it will come in today. I'll keep you posted.
