Verizon is swapping my 8000 out for the 8100, is this a wise thing for me to let them do, anyone have any experience with the 8100? I am not to concerned with the mp3 player, ect, I am more concerned with using it as a phone, reception, speaker phone, sound quality, does it drop calls, ect...Any information would be appreciated as I dont want to use the 8100 if it is junk.

Did Verizon Swap your 8000 because it was junk? I have had countless problems with mine. What did you have to do to get them to swap?

8000 much better. BIGGER, but better. Keys feel way better than 8100. But no bluetooth on 8000 if you need that feature (limited feature no thanks to VZW).

To be honest with you, I dont know why they swapped it, I called in and said I was dropping calls left and right, and the rep said that he would send me out a 8100 minus the rebate offer.

I dont know if this has been a problem with the 8000 or not, but, I did not have to even ask for a new phone, he just said we will send you out a new 8100, when you get that phone, send the 8000 back, they are even replacing the accessories I bought for the 8000. I am out of the 15 day period, so I dont know what happened, but, I will try it out anyway, and I dont have the phone yet, it is suppose to be here tomorrow, I had them overnight it.

I have read the 2 links that the other person told me about, and, it is no help, you get a lot of people liki...

By the sounds of it, Verizon's warranty department no longer replaces the 8000--either discontinued by the manufacturer, or perhaps Verizon no longer replaces it. So they get the equivalent model, now the 8100.

As from what I've seen and handled, the LG VX8000 is a superior phone to the 8100 in terms of what makes it good: the quality of camera, the screen quality, size and keypad functions (including external keys) are better than the 8100. The 8100 sacrifices this sort of handling for a fully functional mp3 player and bluetooth. Imagine trading a car with good mileage and perfect handling for one with a stiff clutch and wheel and xm radio. You can guess the value of the trade.

But the trade value isn't based on form functionality--it...
