Is there a way to hide the tabs the show up on the screen of the i730 above the softkeys while using Java Apps (namely Games)??? It gets in the way in some games...

I have an i730 and I renamed the standard profile to something else, dont ask me why i dont remember. BUt anyway, with any profile besides the standard one, it will display a banner that tells the name of the profile on your idle screen. Well now i changed the name of my standard profile back to "Standard" and it still displays a banner. I DONT WANT IT! Anyone know how i can fix it?

I just received a new i730 today to replace one that could not maintain a connection. On the new i730, a screen came up saying; "Replace backup battery at service center". I called Nextel, they are sending me another i730 to replace the one I got today! I can't complain about the customer service, it's great, but has anyone had this backup battery issue?

Verizon Wireless says it sees crime in Nextel swap

WASHINGTON, June 29 (Reuters) - Verizon Wireless has told U.S. communications regulators that assigning airwaves to rival Nextel Communications Inc. (NasdaqNM:NXTL - News) could open them to federal criminal charges, according to a letter the company released on Tuesday.


The Federal Communications Commission is weighing a plan in which Nextel would get airwaves in the 1.9 gigahertz band in exchange for giving up other spectrum, including in the 800 megahertz band where there is interference with public safety communications.

just got it as of yesterday. the service is great in colorado. the only question i have is kida more about the phone. I bought the i830 and love it. But i have a question maybe someone could help me with. How can the picture id that phonescoop claims the phone has . Or does it not have it. Also does nextel service allow you to put a message on the screen like under the Nextel name?

I know someone out there has the scoop on new plans. What about the plan that's avaliable in chicago? 1000 min. and unlimited eveything else? If they are smart they'd bring that to CA.

i was wondering if there is any limit time required to be able to upgrade from a nextel phone to the latest? i was thinkin og gettin the i730 now and then later ono get the i860 or i930..

It gets technical in some parts but pretty understandable even if you don't understand rf and telephone technologies.

Can you get the weather radar on a Nextel phone? I am in construction and i would love to have it. I know that my current carrier(VZW) has it, but does Nextel?

I currently have VZW, but have been looking at switching to Nextel. I recently was able to get a loaner phone from a local Nextel retailer for about 3 days. My main reason for the phone was to check coverage in the area. The coverage was good, but the call quality and clarity were notheing to be desired. I had an i205(not my phone of choice) and it picked up a lot of background noise and was hard to hear with as well as others had trouble hearing me. I want to know if the call clarity was just with that phone or is it with all Nextels? I have heard others say that it is not as clear os VZW.

i've seen different pictures on many diff sites on the web that are supposidly the i860 for release on 8/2004, if im not mistaken. Does anyone have OFFICIAL picturesof this phone, im deciding on either getting the i730 or wait for i830. If i dont like the phone i'll get the i730 and then upgrade later on to i930. anyone kno the release of that one too? and the OFFICIAL picz? sorry for all of these questions...

I currently have VZW, have had them since back when it was Bell Atlantic/NYNEX. The only reason I keep them now is because of the employee discount I get. But, since I'll be changing jobs, and my contract will be up, I'm looking at Nextel. My questions are, is the customer service and support good, and what is their phone upgrade policy?

WASHINGTON, June 23 (Reuters) - Federal Communications Commission Chairman Michael Powell plans to offer to Nextel Communications Inc. (NasdaqNM:NXTL - News) the airwaves the company wants, in order to end interference with public safety communications in another band, a source close to the matter said on Wednesday.
