ATT?
The phones I am looking at are the V400 and T637. I suppose if I wait a little while Nokia will have a phone with like features as the ones I mentioned. Cingular has these phones at quite a bit of savings over ATT as well. If I just buy a phone outright as it does not cost too much more than ATT's current prices, will ATT ask me to sign a contract?

AT&T reception in Los Angeles?
I would be getting the MXP200 to use for phone calls and internet browsing.
Specifically, interested in knowing where any no-reception spots might be here in town... Melrose Avenue? (I live near Melrose and Fairfax.) Laurel Canyon Drive? Sunset above Santa Monica? Etc.
All responses appreciated!

ATT GSM Phone HELP
Changing phones on the AT&T network...
This may be in a FAQ somewhere, but I couldn't find it, so excuse me if I ask a common question.
I am considering upgrading my Motorola T720 (GSM) to something new... perhaps a V600 or one of the other 850/1900 capable GSM phones I see out there. If I were to buy a new phone (say an unlocked V600) on the net, is there anything special I would need to do (other than move the SIM from one phone to the other) in order to make that phone work on the AT&T network?
Of course, if I elect to go with the V600, I could save a few bucks and pick it up at the AT&T store. However I am a bit hesitant to do so, since I'd like the option of being able to swap SIM cards, given I may be traveling abroad later in the year. Plus I don't w...

You get paid what?!?!?!
ATT does not seem to want renewals!
They tell me my promotional 200 minutes (650) total for 39.99 will dissappear and I will have to pay $300 for the phone!!!!
SO I figure since ATT and Cingular are using the same network I can get 450 roll over and the V400 and keep my number by switching to Cingular .The V600 is less money there as well! But I would rather buy a Jabra BT system as an option if I need it and I can use it for future non BT phones as well.
I did not think ATT was so quick to lose a seven year customer, but I guess they are doing well.
Its no wonder ATT took the biggest hit from number portability losses.............
ATT better now?
I am looking at T Mobile seriously.
Verizon is not on my list. (too expensive and since I travel a lot and am in AC NJ right now)
A few of my cohorts who have Verizon cannot get easy signals here. T Mobile users here seem to get signals where all others fail though.
But mostly Im in LAs Vegas and I know this differs from coast to coast. I like ATT but the empty promises of service have got to me. If the deal does not go...

Why Would Anyone........?
Would someone explain the advantage(s) to joining attws at this time?
They opened an Attws in the Gainesville, FL. Oaks Mall here, and the people who run it can't answer simple questions. And three of the four never heard of "phonescoop". Could attws hired more uninformed people?
A few months ago I dropped attws, I can see why now more people are doing the same now. 😲

Yes, AWS was 1900 Only before the enhancements.....
Just to make all of you aware...
Yes, ATT GSM was brought out on 1900 only, but the reason for that was because of the future...AT&T is not looking back in the past. The UMTS WCDMA network operates on 1900, and not 850 AT ALL. Going back to 850 would be like using your spare tire when you have a brand new one to use. What would be the point? You can only go 55 on the spare...
I need some advise!
? on GSM 800 (850) and International GSM
As well as my Cingular contract I have service in the U.K. with o2 (GSM 900/1800) and in Australia with Optus (major cities GSM 900/1800 rest of country GSM 900). Of the countries I travel to the most, nearly all have GSM 900/1800 services (the exception being Japan - but that's a whole 'nother ball game anway ;-).
My concern with getting a new phone and service with AT&T or Cingular is the use of the 800(850) band as well as the 1900 band. Most of the tri band phones I'm interested in...
