CDM 8400 ?

My search for a non-flip speakerphone brought me to the Audiovox 8400 which, according to this very website, is listed as being tentatively to be offered by verizon. Is this fact, speculation, fact-past-tense, or merely ambitious fiction?

Anyone know if this phone is actually going to be available on Verizon, soon? eventually? ever?

Just wondering.

my review of several phone companies...

I've been browsing these forums for some time now, and everybody seems to be asking the same questions regarding which phone company makes more reliable phones, better reception, longer battery life, and overall good customer feedback.. I've worked for three of the largest wireless carriers over the past 5 years, and currently working for the largest (take a guess), so I thought I'd give a quick review of which phones are worth buying, and which ones aren't.

Nokias- usually have the longest standby time, and above average reception. downside is that the screens tend to deteriorate over time more so than other phones.

LG- IMO, the best company out there right now- battery life is great, reception (even with their all-digital phones) is ...

New Smart Phones coming to Verizon?

Does anyone know when Verizon is due to release competitive smart phones like the Treo600? I don't want to change to Sprint or AT&T but I want a smart phone and Verizon's current choices stink.

Samsung A650 and A670 due any day

Just got word from our store warehouse, the Samsung A650 and A670 are due out any day. We just got rebate pads in too. The A670 looks like a nice phone, but I'm waiting for the price. Samsung always seems to be expensive. Not sure if anybody else has posted on this, but just wanted to give everyone the scoop.

Wait or Not

My dilema is this, I have a LX4400 that is broke. You can't hear unless I have my ear piece in, it goes into Analog whenever it wants to when I have a full digital signal, it also acts like it is searching sometimes when I push the send button.

I went to the VZW store and they saw all the problems and they said to call the insurance and go through them. Insurance as must of you know charges you 50.00 for the same phone, which is not bad. But with these new phone expected to come out soon I was debating on just saving my 50.00 and putting it towards the v710 or the a670. So my question is, should I wait? or go ahead and shell out the money through the insurance???

Want the LG 4600?

Saw a lot of ppl expressing interest in this fone...its internet only however anyone can get it. If you are eligible for a ph up just log on line and click on any fon to upgrade. Once your order has been placed call up telesales support and request that it be cancelled and replaced with the LG 4600. It's really easy to do and you will never be told no.

Web Order online question. (Please help!)

A friend of mine order a VZ phone with new service on 5/24/04. When she checks the order status on VZ website, it says:

"Please check the information you have entered. Data may be missing or may
be entered in an invalid format."

She did put her order # and last name.

Why can't she see her status?

Thanks,
CoolCSI

bars but no calls

my lg 6000 phone shows 4-5 bars of reception, and rings when an incoming call comes, but can never answer the call. nor can i make outgoing calls - it just tries until i receive a call failed.

i'm guessing that the phone is not strong enough to transmit to the tower, but that the tower signals are somehow reaching the phone.

anyone have any experience with this? is there a way to boost output power besides a special antenna? is there a software setting?

thanks

V710, A670 or 9900?

🙂
Seems like the Motorola V710, Samsung A670, and Audiovox 9900 are the phones everyone's watch for (that are supposed to be coming out soon). Which do you all expect to be the best? What will be the strong points of each? I'm struggling along with my Moto 730 waiting for a better phone. They all look pretty cool and seem to have a lot of new features, and look forward to them.

Number Portability

Once my number has been ported to the new carrier, do I still have to close my account with my old carrier (Sprint)? I was not in a contract.

Thanks

Here's your upcoming phones

LG (all phones with vx)

vx 3200 (within weeks)

vx 4600 (any day now)

vx 6100 (possibly not coming out)

vx 7000 (phone to look forward to, arriving mid summer after the audiovox cdm 9900)

vx 8000 (off in the future)

Audiovox

cdm 9900 (hopefully by mid to late may.) for those of us dying for a new decent phone we might settle for this because of it's trimode, battery life, and video but 'smarter consumers' might wait for the lg which customers have typically been happier with.

Motorola

v710 (after the LG 7000) better than the v810 with features and will actually probably arrive before the v810

v810 basic motorola camera phone, coming in the game late, not looking to blow anyone away.

Samsung

SCH A 650
SCH...

Anyone know when the "IN" promo ends?

Anyone have any new info on when the unlimited Verizon to Verizon calls will end? I'm waiting for a new phone to come out and wondering if some summer promo or video messaging release will kill it.

Thanks

Random Thoughts on 3200 vs. 4500 vs. 4600

I've had the opportunity to use the 4500, the 4600, and the 3200. From a sound quality, reception perspective all have performed well for me.

I have no interest in using my phone for Games, Get It Now, Custom Ring Tones, Wallpaper, Internet Access, or Text Messaging. When you add that into the equation, these three phones have just a few differences of varying importance depending upon your needs. Here are some of my thoughts and observations.

A. NO EXTERNAL DISPLAY (3200 ONLY)
The primary difference everyone seems to immediately point out is that the 3200 has no external display. Although many can and will disagree, I like the fact it has no external display. Here's my reasoning, based soley on my personal preferences and need...
