VZW lost a returned phone

I bring to you a problem with Verizon Wireless. On December 9, 2011, my wife upgraded her cell phone. After that she had problems and had to get a replacement phone shipped out.The phone that was received was the incorrect model. They sent out a Thunderbolt. We called Verizon and they sent out the correct phone as a replacement. That was on Jan 31, 2012. In Feb , the correct phone was received. It did not come with any shipping labels to return the phone, so we called Verizon and asked for return labels. About a week later, we called again to ask for return labels. Those were received and the two phones were seperately mailed back. I discarded the tracking info after a couple of weeks, thinking it was received and it was all good. Last week ...

Advice on 4G/LTE upgrading with Verizon

Looking for some advice on the best way to upgrade my phone and Broadband PC card on Verizon from 3G to 4G/LTE.

I have unlimited data plans (grandfathered) on both a 3G PC card as well as unlimimited data plan on my 3G Droid3, I have been told that I can carry over my phone unlimited plan to a 4G device and am tentatively going to do this when the Droid 4 is released (I am partial to a physical keyboard). I tried to do the same with my PC card for a USB or MiFi device but despite the fact that the Verizon rep said the billing codes are the same, she had a screen pop up that prevented her from keeping my plan and shipping me the 4G device. I have heard about moving SIM cards to MiFi devices, and am open to any other options. Thoughts on ...

So, when is a phone too BIG for you?

It was almost exactly two years ago when I was debating this very same question. It was mid summer of 2010 and the Droid X was just about to be released. Compared to pretty-much every other cell phone on the market, it was huge. I (being a specs guy) was very attracted by the numbers on it. There simply wasn't anything else out there that compared to it in terms of features and performance. So even though I felt it was way too big to carry, there I was... standing in line for it on it's release day in July. Needless to say, I got used to the size fairly quickly. Now when I look at an iphone 4 it looks tiny to me.

Here I am two years later on the eve of the Samsung Galaxy S3 release. Same story. The specs, features and performance...

So...

...I have two lines eligible to upgrade before the twenty-eight and both are on 3G smartphones with Unlimited data plans. I am also on account level billing. Currently each of these two lines are paying $29.99 for the data plan. The iphone was the primary line and currently receives the employee discount. When I have called to get that discount for the other smartphones the rep laughed with glee telling me that I am lucky that they haven't taken it from my former primary line. Well, well, well...going through the motions of an upgrade to 4G handsets I discovered that these two lines WILL receive the employee discount on data plan, but if I try to change to an inactive 3G handset...no dice. Very clever Verizon!

Compared:

Galaxy S3, Razor Maxx, Rezound and Galaxy Nexus and the Rezound still smokes the other three in everything but battery life AND is only $79.99! Wow! Still not mad at Verizon for totally screwing their customers over by taking Unlimited data away! June 28th is the new Black Friday. When one considers all options. The last chance to make a move. Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Samsung S3 - Why different specs for US vs Global?

I don't get it. What's the point in Samsung producing the S3 with two different CPUs and two different RAM chips? If I read it correctly, the U.S. (Verizon) version will have a dual-core processor and 2GB of RAM, and the Global version will have a quad-core processor and 1GB of RAM. Why?
I (like many of you) have been watching many of the review videos on youtube for this phone, but I'm wondering how different performance will be in the version I will actually get my hands on.

By the way...

...why would I pay to share data with a laptop or tablet when I can use the hotspot to with those devices for free?

Anyone Else Notice.....

...that NO ONE is complaining about the upgrade fee any more! Everyone is scrambling to upgrade as soon as humanly possible! Verizon's bean counters are freaking geniuses!

Who do you think will benefit the most from Verizon's new shared plans?

1. Verizon customers (I doubt people will vote this)

2. Verizon itself

3. ATT- due to VZ customers leaving

4. Sprint- due to VZ customers leaving for unlimited data

5. Prepaid carriers

Shared Data Plans Optional...

...losing unlimited data feature is not.

"You're not required to move to Share Everything but if you do, unlimited data will not be retained on your line. As a Verizon Wireless customer you have choices when you upgrade at discounted pricing. You can choose from a standalone data package starting at $30 for 2GB or a Share Everything Plan. If keeping unlimited is important to you, you can choose to upgrade and pay full retail price for the phone."

Clearly, the whole point of this process is to slash unlimited data from customer accounts. One can stay on the existing plans and simply go to 2GB for $29.99. I wonder if those with 5GB for $29.99 will be allowed to stay at that price point?

Time for an upgrade

I am looking to upgrade before the end of the next week. I am deciding between the Razr Maxx and the Galaxy S3. My main concern with the Razr is the non removable battery, but I have had great luck with Moto's android offerings thus far. While all the features of the Galaxy S3 look good, have they done anything to improve the radio (reception). In my area (N. Illinois), Samsung in notoriously losing 3G signal, let alone holding 4G. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
