Now will the providers know if the customers are using this? Will it even make it to the U.S.?

I think they will be able to tell when the customers are using it, but I think it will be allowed in the near future.

Pure specualation, of course.

The thing is the carrier you are using it on won't care. Why would AT&T care if you are using a locked TMo phone with their service, AT&T is still winning out.

As for making it to the US, ebay, ebay, ebay!!!! At worst.

The carrier will know as soon as you take your phone in for any warranty issue (see link below). Once they see that you have "modified" your SIM to work with this device, all bets are off and you will be buying a new SIM. I think this is a great idea but I also see a lot of individuals cracking their SIMs when they try to punch the hole (and cracking the tiny silicon chip embedded inside). You guys need to read all the info the PS provides... 😳

I have never had to take a phone from either at&t or T-Mobile into a store for warranty work. With the tool they provide it looks easy enough to modify the SIM. I don't know how hard you are on SIM cards but I find them to be pretty durable little buggers.
