Can I turn data line into a phone line?

I bought a netbook last year for my mom, she never uses it, and of course, paying $60 a month in data for it. Is there a way I can essentially turn that service into a phone line without massive penalties?

Hey guys, I might have missed this, but over the last couple of weeks, I haven't been able to connect to the MediaNet deck, is it gone, or has the URL just changed?

I'm a loyal AT&T customer, but I've gotten frustrated with them due to upgrade issues and am considering moving to T-Mobile. Anything you would tell me to consider or reconsider before making the move?

Thanks Pure 1rish, after X-Mas is a disappoinment (a year after the initial release), but I'm looking forward to this in a big way. Any idea what the differences are between the initial E71 and the E71x? Thanks for the suggestion on the 6550, but After the E62 and the Curve, QWERTY is a necessity.

Nokia e71-x any news?

I've seen the same internet post as pretty much every other fan waiting on the E-71 (now E-71x) to go to AT&T, rumored $150 w/contract, 3 pics, yada, yada, yada. My question is does anyone with AT&T have any additional news? Dates, costs, etc?

I'm looking at buying either the Cingular 8125 or the Nokia E62 in the next week or so. Do I need to pay $40 for the PDA connect or Blackberry service, or can I get the same thing (and keep my text messages) for $30 with the hghest level of MediaNet service?

I see the $50 rebate on the W810i is about to expire on Monday. Any word if the phone will have a deeper discount anytime soon? There were $100 rebates for about a day after its release, then it went up.

I was wondering if any of you have upgraded to the LG CU500 with Cingular and been asked (coerced, forced, whatever)to sign on to the new MEdia Works package at $29.99. I currently have an older model with the $14.99 monthly Media Net package (5MB of internet service and 1,000 texts) which has usually been sufficient for my web needs. Checking e-mail, minor web browsing, google searches, etc. I wasn't sure if data is pushed out to this ...
