Re: Great review!
You guys really should test every phone like this. This was a great video/review!
Re: The joke's on???
Whew. I thought it was going to be like a normal phone that couldn't do that. It looks really different (squarish) which is why I like it too.
Re: The joke's on???
Yeah. It did, thanks. I was just wondering because with the Rumor, you wouldn't type super fast at all. So it doesn't do anything special at all with text? (Smileys, graphics, colored text, etc)
Re: The joke's on???
I'm glad you said that. I am not some poor teen that needs a new phone. I like this phone because people think it is strange. Which means not a whole lot of people will buy it. And that means I might be one of the only people in school with the phone. Just like the kid with the iPhone. (Except different, but you get the point.)
I played with it and it has a pretty snappy operating system. Nice, ...
Battery Life?
Hey. Can you give us an estimate on the battery? I haven't owned a touch screen phone and, well, would it have the battery life of a RAZR or the battery life of an extended Blackberry battery?
Re: Heck yes!
Well, my Chocolate hasn't had that problem. I guess that is why I say that. The only problem I have had with it was the touch pad freezing EVERY now and then. But even if you didn't get that phone, you could get the Juke or something a little less feature friendly.
Re: Heck yes!
But still. They are just trying to say you can a better phone then the average Samsung phone that comes out every month or so. I mean the Chocolate 8550 is free and it is a great phone.

First of all, 300 texts for $5 is extremely popular, so that is not at all a fair comparison.
Secondly, what other major carrier offers a wireless song download AND one for the PC for 99 cents? Nobody. And now neither will Sprint. I believe Verizon offers both but it's $2.
It is 99 cents IF you have a data plan. I just want to make that clear. the last time I had Sprint and ...
Re: Another Samsung flip phone?
I think they do it to keep the people getting free phones happy. I mean I personally would pay fifty dollars and get something I wouldn't mind having a year.
Re: Just another sign...
Ok I understand the trying to make a profit but that is just like saying: "Lets cut the things that people don't use.. All of them." So what if they cut out the three hundred text messages a month for five dollars? That would be good for the people that only need that amount and don't want to pay a lot. Also it is about what they offer. If you have the same prices on things and it comes ...
Just another sign...
That Sprint is (maybe) going under? I mean they are cutting back A LOT. Does anyone remember the Sprint email addresses being taken away? And they just sold their towers so they didn't have to maintain them. Anyone else think this and who do you think will buy them up (if anything happens)?
Got it -->
I guess they added it.

Two -year contract price: $79.99

But still... Another so-so Samsung flip. I mean I guess it is good to keep things fresh but, that is the only thing I can think of that is good to say.
Another Samsung flip phone?
I mean it seems every couple of months, Verizon is getting another entry level Samsung phone. I hope these things sale because other wise it seems like a waste of money... (Also I would think this is going to be another free phone online)
Re: GOOD!!!
Uh not refurbished. It says the materials where extracted from corn. Not at all taken from other phones. But it is being eco-friendly so I think it will get lots of attention. However I would like to see more trendier phones that are also eco-friendly. However this is a step in the right direction.
People are to quick to think...
If you take ETF away, you are going to shell out tons of money just to get the free phone as an upgrade. I can understand why they would sue but at the same time, they are going to ruin it for us all, just like that guy who put a bomb in his shoe, now we all have to pay for that.. (Just an example)
I can see what you mean... but still...
You can listen to unlimited music threw this, right? I mean it might be perfect for someone who doesn't have memory and wants to have tunes to go. But if you can't.. then I agree. I can see what they are trying to do, but it just isn't what I thought. Now I bet someone ten bucks that the Chocolate 3 will be advertised with this service. (Just kidding but you know what they push a certain phone with ...
It's all good now..
This would be very appealing to someone who only had a small group of people they activly talked to. I know you have to have regular minutes but still this is a step. A neat thing they could add would be unlimited picture and video messaging to anyone in your circle.
Re: Not so fast..?
This is true. But still, I would at least like to have four different phone companies to pick from.
Re: busy week
I didn't think it was slow at all. There has been at least two new posts every day. I like it a lot. The housing market may be down, but the phone industry is booming!
Not so fast..?
I would give them a chance. Helio is a really good phone company and they offer a ton of great things. I highly doubt that Virgin Mobile will trash it and make it something it is not.
On a side not- We are (sorta) running out of choices. I mean T-Mobile bought SunCom. Virgin bought Helio. Verizon bought Alltel. So now the real question is, who is going to buy Sprint Laughing. I just want a lot verity and I ...
Re: Reliabilty of Metro's flashed firmware?
There you go. And who knows it might only be a couple of points. And it is not like a mortgage lender is going to see you defaulted on on an ETF and not give you a loan.
Re: Reliabilty of Metro's flashed firmware?
Ohh wow what dirty scheme :D. I mean that would make everything work out perfectly. You could get something like the Voyager (I don't even know if they will flash that one, just an example) for 200$ and never pay a bill again and keep the phone. However this may affect someones credit. I'm not sure but I am 99% sure they will for the unpaid ETF. But if your credit's in the hole and you have nothing better ...
Re: Reliabilty of Metro's flashed firmware?
I think it is a great idea and will attact a ton of people wanting to try a new service provider with their same, long loved, and possibly very costly phone. But I agree with everything said above.
I can't wait to see what LG has...
Also Samsung. They have some of the best working phones. And to see all the magic they are giving to Verizon, I would like the see what they have to offer to everyone else. (Not to mention what Motorola will do..)
Re: Glad to see..
I KNOW. The $30 plan is ah-mazing compared to Verizon's prepaid. I mean you pay a dollar a day with Verizon and at the end of the month that is $30 and you have a limit. So Cricket is the best out there but yeah they need to spread out.. they would get all of the people from AT&T and Verizon (their unlimited plans are not good compared to Crickets)
Re: Us Cellular has already had this?
Oh well the whole thing here is that Cricket just got it. If US Cellular has it, I am sure it isn't news just like Verizon and Sprint having it.
Glad to see..
that they are catching up with everyone else. It makes them more appealing now. I mean there plans have always been great but now they are getting the phones and the services.
The phone industry is B-U-S-Y.
I mean look at Phone Scoop this past week! I really like the way this phone looks. Well what I mean is it seems to be really unique. With the color and keys. But does anyone this Sony E. will ever consider something other then GSM? The music phones they make are pretty good along with the whole menu set ups. I can only see them going to Sprint because of the menu problems.. I would be afraid to ...
Re: That review is crap...
I don't have Sprint anymore but it looks good considering Sprint isn't like Verizon.. they don't get phones like a RAZR gets problems. They get a couple every quarter
Re: should be cheaper...
I don't know... That is pretty good. Even more so if you can get them to take the $100.00 MIR and make it an instant credit (I ask Verizon when ever I get a new phone and they do it without a problem). And if you think about it, this is Sprint's second "touch phone" and is running right in there with the Voyager, iPhone, and other phones. So if you can get a fully touch phone for $129.99 ...
Talked to someone at Verizon...
And they said they have to get rid of a lot of great phones because they get them so often. He said they went from two a year, to five a quarter! The reason I asked this was because I was wanting to know where the LG 9400 (T phone) went and he said they don't make it anymore (it is still on Verizon's site). He also said there was no such thing as a Batman phone or Chocolate ...
Re: Too Late
Maybe a little bit. Verizon has been scooping up phones pretty consistently so if they miss one that isn't the best I guess it is fine. (Note the phones toy like plastic)
Atempting a come back..?
This seems like some kind of come back try. With all the cut backs and store closings, do you guys thing this is almost like a final straw? Oh course they have to make it long enough for the Instinct but still. Oh and if Sprint had to be bought out by some one, who would you prefer? Not Verizon. I think there needs to be verity among phones and Verizon already has one under there belt.
Re: What are you going to do?
How did you get it for $79.99?! Then I could just take my Chocolate and do an even swap. That would be awesome! But from what everyone is saying, it would be worth investing in.
What are you going to do?
Jump on it or wait? I really don't know a whole lot about this phone but I think it looks the part, and seems to be a nice phone inside. $130.00 isn't bad (and the MIR isn't a problem because I had gotten that as an instant rebate and I would take back my Chocolate) So I would only have to pay close to $50.00 big ones. So what are your plans?
Re: is it just me
Everyone would own one of those. I mean Motorola made a rugged looking RAZR so you would think companies would make rugged phones more often.
Re: is it just me
I can see that :D. I seems all of there phones are ment to be thrown at walls! I wonder if they will ever be able to make the phone look nice and form fitting and yet at the same time have the ability to be throw at a wall...
Re: Or... OR...
Just trying to get a point across? If I had a site I would have done something similar. I just happened to be April first/April Fools. I liked the unexpected change just like when you wake up after an all nighter and realize the nice red zit on your chin... Ahhh so nice! (but no for real it was cool)
Revamp.
I would like to see Phone Scoop get a revamp. I check here several times a day and I like the lay out of the site (mainly because of the layout, easy and not crowded with ads), BUT, how about a change? I noticed not to long ago (maybe six months) the side bar on the left changed but I am talking... clean crisp, iPhoneScoopie feel. I don't know. Just throwing a revamp out there. What do you guys ...
Re: Is it an April Fool's Joke?
G O P H O N E S C O O P! I stand behind this. T-Mobile is nobody speacial and they can't "own" a color. Also Happy April Fools!
So we protest until... T-Mobile apoligizes for the theat?
