I don't know... That is pretty good. Even more so if you can get them to take the $100.00 MIR and make it an instant credit (I ask Verizon when ever I get a new phone and they do it without a problem). And if you think about it, this is Sprint's second "touch phone" and is running right in there with the Voyager, iPhone, and other phones. So if you can get a fully touch phone for $129.99 then you are doing pretty good.

running with the iPhone? Nothing will compare to the navigational functions of the iPhone ... that device is the pinnacle of touch screens.

anyway ... i was being sarcastic. it's definitely not a bad deal for a touch screen phone (beinng $129.99).

exactly, it has some features that some people may not even use, so why pay so much for a device thats "all" touch, like the Vu or even the i-phone, when this is $129.99, even though it's a Samsung

Ok, that review on here is crap and is biased as you can tell. It's obvious the guy is an iphone lover. How can you give a review with a beta version of a phone? My roommate works at the sprint store and I got to use a final production fully functional version of this phone and its nothing like the guy said in his review. The only downfall is the ****ty browser. Two thumbs down. Yes, the iphone's browser is awesome. But besides that, the streaming media is seamless, not choppy and the touchscreen is very responsive and not fuzzy and yes, it does select the right things unless you have Hulk sized fingers. A new review should be done by someone who isn't biased with their love of the iphone already.

I would say the web broswer should be a major factor. That is a major downfall I would say.

Lets face it, samsung, LG, Moto, Nokia etc. should just quit it with this emulation of iphone hardware and software. That ship saled long ago, if they really want to beat the boys in cupertino they should at least become a bit more innovative and do something that no one else has truly done like Apple did. I've played with a beta model of the instinct as well, I am glad they improved it or whatever but, lets face facts the UI is not better than the iphones, and the fact they didn't issue a new web browser is going to hurt them when the iphone 3G is released next month. I have an iphone edge and the thing these carriers/manufacturers keep missing is the ease of use with the UI. I've messed with phones like the voyager, VU, and touch they ...

That's all I got out of that.

you are right about the ui, but buddy you are wrong about anything else....tell me how many features your 3g iphone will have compared to the instinct????...your dumb or hardheaded to even think that the iphone is better then the instinct in anyway besides the ui...all the new iphone gets is 3g and like 2 or 3 other features... also sprints has about a 65% larger 3g coverage area then att. the iphone gps is better then google maps, but sprint has the been the leader for gps applications for cell phones way longer then any other carrier... so why would you want to pay more for a phone that has less then a phone that is cheaper and has about 5 times as many features????

I think ultimately it comes down to what you use and how much you want to pay to use it. Yes - the IPhone has a great browser and was one of the first of its kind. Its in our nature to take what has succeeded and to make it better....

The Instinct has many of the SAME features yes, but a better platform for higher speed. The Navigation is lots better and is turn by turn directions. They have taken what Iphone had and MADE IT BETTER, coupled it with a cheaper plan that has more to offer and there you go. Make your decision.

(Keep in mind, IPhone is releasing the second upgraded model that will kick the Instinct in a few other areas and hence - making things better for US the consumer).

well, yes it is but I can get around that because the browser isn't the only thing that I'm going to use on the phone. I rather like the multimedia capabilities of the Instinct over the iphone. Hell, if AT&T didn't have an exclusive contract for the iphone and it was available to all carriers I would've gotten one but then I would be switching to the Instinct anyway because its features are more aligned with what I look for in a phone. Now, I love the iphone and I love the 3G iphones browser but there are also 3rd party browsers like Opera and it also has an open SDK so there's room for improvement. Also, we all shouldn't forgot that Palm made the touch screen PDA interface phones popular. The iphone just happens to be a fully touch scr...

Yea, i was reading this review and scratching my head...phonedog.com does visual reviews on the instinct, and while i wasnt blown away by what i saw (from the beta version still) it seemed to be a pretty cool, easy functioning phone, and in particular he remarked on how responsive the touch screen was in comparison to the glyde.

and I'm glad you were being sarcastic because the GPS on the iphone sucks. Sprint's GPS has always been better than its competitors especially since they've had it in regular phones long before any other carrier has...

Personally google maps with AGPS could be quite interesting. Although TomTom suppossedly made a third party app compatible with the iphone 3G which will probably be available through the app store sometime after launch.

well, it should have a third party gps because its current gps, even on the 3G isn't that great. with a third party app from TomTom though, it should be really good though...

LMAO what are we in High School now? It's okay you sprint fan boys can think you "owned" me on the forums. I am just here stating facts. People don't by the iphone because it's loaded with a zillion features that the average person would not care to use. They buy it for it's UI and ease of use, they buy it because well apple for the past few years has made some great strides in the technological world, they are going to buy it because well it was named invention of the year last year and I can guarantee the instinct will ...
