Thanks for the scoop. I'll try the update tonight.

where did you get the extended life battery? Is it an official Motorola battery or after market?

*228 upgrade feature?

I had a Verizon Rep tell me to call *228 every couple months to update cell site and software through the mother ship. Has anyone ever had anything bad happen as a result of calling this? Any good comments? Thanks.

Re: The end or the Razr?

I laughed when I saw the segment on CNN Business. The Razr V3c is a pretty controversial phone with many pro's and con's, but the one consistent pro for the Verizon version is the call quality and lack of dropped calls even with only one bar showing. I think Cingular just has a lot of dropped calls. I know in Southern California (Orange County in particular), Verizon's coverage can't be beat. I think Cing and T-Mob are trying to find a ...

I must be bored. I checked the Motorola site and the battery for the T-mobil, Cingular and VZ Razr all have the same Sku# (SNN5696B), so I'm starting to think our Verizon Razr's have a "suck battery dry" setting the others don't. I still love the phone. I use it throughout the day and evening and charge it overnight with great success.

I saw your post and had to check right away because that sounds like a great solution. I checked the Cingular and Verizon sites, but could not get close-up shots of both to compare. I went to CellPhoneShop.com and their replacement battery was the same for the V3 and the V3c. But they are both Motorola phones with Motorola batteries that are supposedly interchangable, so why would one battery have better life than the other? Or is it the V3c and ...

The razr I got from a Verizon store in mid Feb with the manufac/ship date on the box being the end of January had the .03 software. The one thing I've found about dealing with Verizon stores, is that the store manager has the option of doing just about anything. Talk to the manager and have them search their stock for a newer version phone.

I started out with a .02 version software RAZR which was paired with a HS500 Bluetooth. The BT would unpair itself and eventually didn't work. The Verizon helpline said to return the BT. I ended up exchanging the BT for an HS 850 and then the RAZR to a newer one with .03 software. No issues whatsoever. I think the .03 upgrade opens the door to more Bluetooth features.

I recently exchanged my .02 version RAZR under the 15-day worry free exchange for a newer .03 version. I absolutely love the phone, but then again, I don't file share, transfer data, etc. The thing I found that is better on the newer .03 version is the keypad seems sturdier, my HS 850 bluetooth now has the one touch voice activated dialing, and the time automatically updates. I have also had no issues with slow software navigating through ...

Ron47, Just to give you some more specifics. My RAZR with the 02 software did not let me push the talk button on my BT and make a voice activated call. The 03 version software does. I originally thought my BT was broke, but not the case. I am sure there are a lot of other features upgraded that I will probably never know about. Also, when I was calling around to Verizon Stores for info on the software ...

I just exchanged my phone under the 15-day guarantee clause. It's a PERFECT phone. The sound quality is the best and my HS 850 Bluetooth has all it's features available. I knew something was up with these phones when they said the pink RAZR has no issues. I had them check the boxes and got a RAZR with the freshest date possible on the box. It has the 03 version software. The time updates fine, the keypad ...

Razr v3c and Motorola Bluetooth HS850

When active, should I be able to touch the headset call button and link up with the phones voice dialing menu? Or do I just have to hit the side button on the phone, then say the call command via the headset? All those years of loud rock n' roll, I wish I could turn up the BT earpiece volume more! The HS 500 I returned was louder than this one.

Hearing myself talk while on a call (Verizon Razr)
Feb 14, 2006, 12:13 AM
in the Motorola RAZR V3c forum

I just upgraded from a Samsung A650 to a Razr V3c. I love the phone so far. When I am talking on a call I can hear my voice as if I'm speaking into a small box. Not really an echo sound, but hard to explain. The callers say I sound fine with no reception problems. Anyone else experience this or am I just getting used to a new handset? Any input is greatly appreciated.
