It would be more akin to comparing Bill Gates to Warren Buffet. And yeah... WiMax is almost as fast as LTE and has a way better battery life. And yes same generation means exactly what you are saying it does not mean. WiMax and LTE offer a very similar product. We are talking the difference between a Camero and a Challenger. Maybe you'd like to brush up on wireless technologies before you put your foot in your mouth again?

Ahhh... haters are so funny. Like one of the earlier replies to your point stated... The Verizon phones got shredded by the competition according to the CTIA. So yes Sprint's phones will be laying waste to VZW's summer line up as well. And why would Sprint be ashamed of the Echo? It's a top of the line device that is more innovative than anything Verizon has put out in years! Verizon doesn't even release original phones anymore. They rely on copying ...

 There is a EVO Tab coming as well... Also the Playbook 4G. Again with the misinformed haters... It would be rather easy for the EVO 3D to out do the Thunderbolt... The Thunderbolt is nothing more than a reworked(copy) EVO. And iPhone? OMG only teenagers think that's the best phone... Keep it real vercetti.

So "circle jerk" doesn't violate the terms and conditions of this website? But other similar terms do... especially ones in a foreign language. That's pretty odd.

Well I've looked at it several times and it hasn't showed up on there today so far. When/If I see it again, I will post the info. I think you are right about the ad not being where it's supposed to be... I think it's one of the ads that is normally on the homepage.

When I use my native browser on my HTC Shift, There is a giant floating ad that floats for a minute then disappears. I can't get rid of it. It goes away by itself and it's only on phonescoop.com. So I dunno. It's not that big of a deal but I noticed it's only when I use the android google browser. Firefox and Dolphin don't have that problem.

I'm not going to say that you are alone in your concerns. I've spoken to other shareholders that feel the same as you. I'm pretty sure that's why you are seeing this move from Sprint. Many of the shareholders are demanding immediate action. Several months ago Dan said something to the effect of "I don't sit up at nights wondering what VZW will do once they get the iPhone. I sit up wondering what ATT will do when they lose ...

Actually there are 2 EVO's on the horizon. I don't know about the rebate thing... I always bought my stuff at Best Buy so I don't have to worry about rebates. To tell you the truth, the rebates were the only thing that sucked about Sprint in my opinion.

I can speak from experience that Vegas is pretty well covered. It has great 4G coverage and I always have 3G when I visit there and I visit there often.I was able to use my PS3 and play MW2 without a hitch while on 4G although my EVO needed to be plugged in the entire time. I have the Shift now and the battery life is quite a bit better. I'm a Sprint user as well as a shareholder but ...

Yeah like someone mentioned before, it reminded me of the ATT buyout when Vodaphone jumped in to hike the final price up... It was pretty obvious that DT was looking to get rid of Tmob. I think the only thing Sprint balked at is that for the price Sprint was willing to pay, DT wanted too big of a stake in the new company in return. DT said openly that it wanted Sprint as a partner. I just don't ...

I agree. Sprint's current image is better than it has ever been. It's marketing is better than ever. Everything about Sprint is better than it has ever been. Could it be better? Sure, but to constantly be stuck on an image of Sprint from 2001 isn't appropriate even for the biggest of Sprint fans. It's important to remember the past but not be blinded by it. All that being said, I agree with Slammer 99% of the time. I just ...

I've never said what you were saying was "irrelevant". I just think you are missing the point. Sprint's marketing strategy is different that what you want. So what? It is successful. Sprint is intelligently staying away from naming themselves the "best" because every carrier who does this and has done it in the past still has teeth marks in their butts. There is no such thing as the "best" because as we all know wireless service is different for ...

Again what? I'm not bashing you. I just think you harp on marketing that's doing a good job. Sprint has good commercials and some are even pretty funny. I think their marketing is spot on... it's not like they advertise for broke people to come down to the ghetto carrier... they just offer a great deal and advertise it. Sprint has a reputation for being the "ghetto carrier" but I don't know why because in the last several years ...

This isn't true at all... There are plenty of Sprint EVO commercials every day. The commercials with the Android dude and all the giant letters... are Sprint commercials. They also have all the funny commercials about "it's ok I have unlimited messages". Those are pretty funny and they are Sprint commercials. I think it's a fresh change from the norm of carrier commercials honestly. ATT, VZW, and Tmob constantly try to tell every one they are the best with ...

I agree. Slammer is a fan of Sprint, but seems to harp on days gone by. As far as advertising... The current ads aren't exciting or awe inspiring. They don't have to be. Just remind everyone that they offer the best devices on a large unlimited network and do it with good customer service. The numbers don't lie. It's working.

It's not conjecture... it's fact. Sprint did not want to merge. They wanted to buy it out. But a doubled offer from att changed that.

I can imagine the conversation:* Dan Hesse: They offered you what? DT: 39... Dan: Holy crap! Take it! DT: Really? Dan: Yeah man that's a $%^#load of money... Hey... How much do you get if the deal falls through? DT: 3 bil and some extra spectrum... Dan: No %^$# ?! That's awesome. Well, let's merge when their buyout fails and we'll have even more resources. DT: Hell, yes! Will do. Be seein' ya Dan. Dan: Take care * dramatization of a fictional(but possible) event.

...why people are so worried about/predicting the doom of Sprint. It's just ridiculous. It seems that just because the competitor has more customers that this makes them a better product or a better deal. In this case, the ATT deal doesn't represent either. So good they get some more network. Big whoop! This amounts to polishing a turd in my book... well maybe upgrading to something with some corn in it  I don't think this will upgrade the US's worst ...

Sprint did not pass on buying them out. Sprint passed on the offer of a 50/50 merger. I'm pretty sure Sprint/Clear is vocal because they are the last of the competition... Let's put it this way... How loud would you, AndroidRules, and Versed be screaming if some giant Bob Sapp lookin' dude wanted to make you his &%^*^? I bet your trainer, Kip, is the foremost authority on WiMax considering his 8 months working for your carrier. Damn, you guys gossip more than a Red hat Society meeting at a golden corral.

Not that I disagree, but I think the article was trying to say that "Att needs Tmob's network to make Att's network better" not that Att needs Tmob to improve Tmob's own network. They get 1700 for LTE and some additional 1900... too much in some areas and this will help them a bit.

You act as though you know wtf you are talking about. Isn't that cute? And learn to spell. Who says they weren't going to buy them. ATT just made an offer that no one else could have afforded. I guess it comes from years of price gauging. To tell you the truth, if I was Sprint, I would be letting it happen. I would wager roughly half of Tmob's customers will be jumping ship. Mar 22, 2011, 9:04 PM

Again with the retarded uneducated statements. VZW couldn't buy Sprint if they wanted to that's why they "have no interest" in doing it. That's why every company who has been rumored to purchase Sprint has thought better of it. To purchase Sprint and all of it's spectrum would cost at least 50 billion... probably closer to 60. So again tell me how MetroPCS, a very small regional carrier, could afford it... Oh that's right... you don't know wtf you are ...
