Changing internet and email setting for Cingular blue
This phone looks really cool. I am a Cingular Blue customer. Does anybody know how I can change the interenet and email settings to work on Cingular Blue so long as I buy an unlocked SDA? I know with Nokia I can request a text message automatically programming in the correct settings--- anything comparable with HTC? Finally, if I need a warranty repair and I'm not a T-Mobile customer, would I be covered? Does HTC have a service center ...
GoodLink, Nokia Business Center, Seven Mobile Mail, Seven Always-On Mail, Visto Mobile
GoodLink, Nokia Business Center, Seven Mobile Mail, Seven Always-On Mail, and Visto Mobile---the E61 supports all of these. What is the difference between them? If I want to primarily access my AOL mail, is one of these better than the others?
Best choice for push email on E61
I'm a little confused by all the different choices this phone will apparently offer for push email. Why are there several different ways to arrange for push e-mail on this phone and what's the difference? I have two email addresses-- my (small) business email and AOL. How should I best set up this phone for push email given the numerous choices?
Re: When will Cingular get a good QWERTY phone?
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the Nokia E61 due out this quarter. Am I missing something?
Re: 6102 Email
Blueinbox loads OTA-- you don't need the data cable.
Re: 6102 Email
Did you try the blueinbox, or any other e-mail client?
Re: 6102 Email
Can you please post your reaction after you use it? I think I'm going to wait until the update to see if it addresses the issues I have raised.
Re: 6102 Email
Of course you're right-- email is critical and these phones just don't cut it in that respect. There are two 3rd party apps that I'm aware of- one of them apparently now out of business and neither one all that great. EMailViewer by Reqwireless was OK--- but connection was/is very unreliable, and I believe they're out of business now (at least the web site no longer seems to function). The other app is BlueInBox-- which is OK but missing ...
Overwriting SMS Messages allowed?
In my 6230, I can choose to automatically overwrite old SMS messages as new ones come in so that my Inbox doesn't fill up. (Menu--> Messages--> Message Settings--->Text Messages--->Overwriting in Inbox (allowed or disallowed as you choose)). I can't find anything similar in the 6102--- problem is my Inbox fills up and then I don't get my new text messages. Any suggestions?
Kick rear-end
T-Mobile has a huge asset that they're not utilizing--- they own towers all over the world. They should be the first to offer a world plan for a single monthly fee-- just like AT&T was the first to offer a national plan 7 or so years ago (because AT&T was the only company that then owned towers coast-to-coast). AT&T picked up a huge number of subscribers with that plan--- so would T-Mobile. Nobody would be able to match them ...
Re: No VIBRATE is a deal-breaker.
Nokia-- are you listening? Won't buy it w/o vibrate feature--- and I'm exactly the business customer Nokia is seeking for this phone.
Re: Incompatible Charger?
Why would they do something so stupid? I would have to get new chargers for my home, my office and two cars--- plus I'd have to keep my old chargers in the home and cars too since other members of my family have Nokias. I just changed my mind about buying this phone. What about other new phones coming out-- like 6682?
Incompatible Charger?
When I looked at a non-working demo, it looked like it uses a different charger incompatible with every Nokia I currently own (looked like a skinnier connection). Is that correct or is it my imagination?
Re: 850
What's the difference between the 6101-Rogers and the 6102-Cingular?
Also, under the battery, it's not designated as 6101a or b? If you don't have the original box, it's not possible for a normal consumer to tell whether he's got 850 or 900? Buying this on Ebay will be a nightmare.
Re: Possible reason for delay?
I think it's the often cited software issues.......
850
Do the 6101 and 6102 both come in 850 or 900 versions--- is it 6101a,b and 6102a,b again? Or is the 6101 900 and the 6102 850? It's so confusing--- Nokia has really got to get it together on their numbering system. I want to make sure I get the USA version-- so is there a 6101b or do I have to get the 6102? By the same token, could I mess up and inadvertently buy a ...
Re: How to win over Verizon loyalists.
Muchdrama is right. You can cite "facts" and statistics all day long--- but in my area (northern New Jersey) there's just no doubt that Verizon's service has far greater "depth" and reliability. I say this as an AT&T (now Cingular) customer for over 10 years. The only reason I've stayed with Cignular is because of the international coverage. Try taking the train in to New York City from Northern NJ--- people next to me on Verizon can mantain a ...
Re: 6230 STOP-SHIP!
I have firmware 4.43. My 6230 freezes up about once every week or two. (A post above suggests that the problem is unique to the latest firmware-- that's incorrect in my expereince). About once or twice a month I also get the message SIM CARD REJECTED--- ususally a reboot remedies both problems, but it is an annoyance.
Re: i got my 6682
Looks like Nokia was probably encountering a lot of problems like what you describe-- I assume that's why the phone was pulled from sale shortly after it debuted. Too bad--- I was looking forward to buying it. Sounds like you gave it a more than fair shot-- and the phone failed. It seems to me that Nokia has had trouble executing lately-- their phones are ridiculously late (6102, 6682) and even then, have serious unresolved problems. And I've owned ...
Re: i got my 6682
E-mail--- only downloads the headers? That's surprising-- do you mind exploring that further to see if that's all it does? That's not true push e-mail-- please update again as you find out more.
Re: i got my 6682
How well does the push e-mail work?
Re: i got my 6682
Could you elaborate when you say "e-mail does work more like a Blackberry, but not quite".
Push AOL e-mail on Cingular Blue
If and when this phone finally comnes out, I will get it almost exclusively for the push e-mail function. I am a Cingular Blue customer, and I use AOL for e-mail. Question: will this phone automatically "push" my AOL e-mail. Do I have to make special arrangements with Cingular? Is there anything that would prevent the push feature for working under my circumstances?
Re: Look at this Picture-- is the Pop-port gone??
3rd try--- I think this is the correct picture. Is the Pop-port gone?

Re: Look at this Picture-- is the Pop-port gone??
Sorry--- here's the correct picture.

Look at this Picture-- is the Pop-port gone??
Has Nokia abandoned the Po-port? It doesn't look like the Pop-port is here in this picture.
