Voice activating email other then outlook?
Mar 13, 2007, 9:08 PM
in the Motorola Q forum

When I use voice activation to send an email, it always uses outlook. Does anyone know a way to get it to use another email account? I have gmail set up and it works fine, but I'd like to be able to voice activate the sending, rather then have to scroll through my phonebook.

I was told by a Sprint store manager that some of the high end phones like the 5600 are no longer being shipped to the stores. The stores will have a display model and if someone wants to buy one they will direct ship it to them. I just got a warrenty replacement for mine yesterday (aug 19th), and it was a brand new phone, not a refurb. The guy who ordered it said that they ...

My hinge squeaks really bad too. I also just had my headset jack stop working. The sprint store is ordering me a new phone. Hopefully that one will be better.

Re: Assigning Video Ringers

I looked at the details on the three movies I have custom made (1 works, 2 don't). The only differances that I see are: -File size is 30kb on the one that works 2mb and 6mb on the ones that don't. -The one that works has no audio at all. -The file name is much shorter on the one that works. It is only 9 charactors, compared to upwards of 20 charactors on the ones that don't. I'm not at my ...

I hadn't tried it before, but I checked after I read your post. I only have 3 homemade videos on my phone and it didn't let me assign the longer ones (not sure how long but more then 1 minute). It did let me assign a really short one I had. The short one is only a few seconds long. I'm not sure, but unless there is something I'm not accounting for, it seems to ...

Not to be rude but, you should refrain from commenting on a situation, when you haven’t read all the previous posts and do not know what you are talking about. I will eleaberate for you. There are two reasons that I know that the store doesn’t pick up the phone 95% of the time. Firstly, several months back I needed a firmwear upgrade and tried to call the store to make an appointment (they do upgrades by appointment ...

It's not taking up any of my time to wait for the form. It does take up my time to drive to the store. I don't care how long it takes me to get the rebate, just as long as I get it. It's not like I need that $150 right away for my rent or something. My problem is all the incompetent people I talk to. If they promise to do something, then ...

I paid $429 + tax for a phone and was promised I would be sent a rebate form. I don't think it's unreasonable to be a little annoyed when Sprint tells me that because they forgot to send it, I should spend an hour in traffic and likely another 20-30 minutes waiting in line at the store, seeing as it's a very busy location and I would have ask someone to search for one of the older forms. ...

Re: Ringtones Please Explain
Mar 18, 2005, 2:17 AM
in the Sanyo MM-5600 forum

It is somewhat disappointing that MP3's can't be used as ringers. The explanation that I think is most likely is due to the phone's limited internal memory. The 5600 has only 3MB internal memory to handle everything (ringers, screensavers, games, ect). The ringers that you use have to be on the phone's internal memory, not the memory card. I would assume this is done, partly because of the slightly longer access time to read the ...

Try changing the file extension from MP4 to M4A. MP4 can be used for either video or audio files, where as the extension M4A is only audio, and the Sanyo 5600 sees it as a ringer.

The program makes a file extension .3gp. For it to work as a ringer you need to change the extension on the file to .3g2, not 3gp2.

I was told by the telesales rep I bought my phone from that the rebate slip would be in the box. It was not. I called cust care and they told me to go into the store. I told them that the sprint store was inconvenient for me, I wanted it mailed. The guy then proceeded to put me on hold for several minutes without telling me what he was doing and when he ...

I played with the MPX 220 for a couple of hours and although it had some impressive features, it had major flaws. It was very difficult to use, alot of the menus were slow to respond, the HTML browser was useless due to the small screen size, and MP3 ringers were so quiet that they were unusable. I guess it would be a good phone for someone who wants a PDA, but can't handle the size of ...

Thanks for the info, that program worked great! Only one question... do you know any way to get the file into the phone, to use it as a screensaver? I've tried using 3gupload.com, phoneuploader, and the Sprintusers.com focus tool. All of these sites error out and say it is not a supported file format. I put it on the memory card to view it, but when I try to make it a screensaver, the phone ...

I haven't been able to find any minisd cards that are bigger then 512MB. Some sites say that 1GB is coming soon, but no one seems to have it for sale. ATP, (one of the companys that makes the cards), claims that theirs are 300% faster, more durable, and use less battery life then the standard cards, but still work in all the same devices. They are pretty close to the same price so I ordered the ATP ...

The audio from the video clip is the ringer. The actual video only shows up if you have the phone open or have "open to answer" set to off and open the phone while it's ringing. It's kind of a useless feature to me.

Re: Got my phone today, I'm returning it tommorow

I take it back, I changed my mind after all. I still haven't gotten the return kit back from Sprint, and after looking at competitors, I found that Verizon's phones are too simalar to Sprint's and their data plans are very expensive (charge per minute) And Cingular's phones are really cool, but the service is poor. So I spent some time yesterday making a bunch of MP4 ringers and it wasn't as bad as I thought ...

In my area, the two other major carriers are Verizon and Cingular. I've done quite a bit of research into their phones. Both Verizon and Cingular offer phones that do MP3 ringers. Cingular has many unrestricted bluetooth phones. Verizon, like Sprint, has only bluetooth headset capability.

No, I haven't changed my mind. It's strange to hear that it supports QCP though. It is not listed on the spec sheet on Sanyo's website as a supported file type and when I tried to download a QCP file to the phone, it would not work. It would say 20% done, 30%, ect, but would keep going past 100% then 200% and eventually the phone erred out and said something about the file size not ...

Re: MP3 to Midi converter
Mar 6, 2005, 3:37 PM
in the LG VX-8000 forum

There is no good way to convert a MP3 to a MIDI file. MP3's are recording of sounds. MIDI's are like sheet music. They contain the sounds note by note and instrument by instrument. For instance, a MIDI could tell the phone to play certain notes in a piano sound, while at the same time playing other notes in a guitar sound, but the file itself contains no sound, just instructions on what notes to ...

Purevoice files are QCP files. They are compatable with most Sanyo phones, including my current VM4500, but not with the 5600. Also, QCP files have pretty poor sound quality. This phone supports AAC format instead of QCP, but it kind of difficult to covert to AAC.

I just got the phone UPS today. I was very excited. Here are the pros the cons and the dealbreaker that is making me return the phone: Pros: -Great screen -cool voice dialing features (no training) -ringer can be set to say "call from (computer voice reads name from phonebook)" -Best speaker, I've ever heard on a phone (when playing music) -Intuitive menus -Super quick web browsing Cons: -It's kinda big -It's kinda expensive Dealbreaker: -No MP3 Ringers! This phone CAN NOT do MP3 ringers at ...

You are a sad pathetic person. If the only thing that you have to do to occupy your time, is to hang around on message boards, making fun of people for researching their electronics purchases, then you need to get a life.
