Lowest price is $599? The phone hasn't been released yet. You are probably looking at some pre-order quotes. Nokia says it should retail for 320 euro (approx $430 USD) upon release.

It hasn't been released yet. The only info on release date is Q3...so it "should" be available sometime before the end of September. Kinda disappointing as other phones announced around the same time (or after) have already been released.

According to other sites, it has a vibrate function.

Good luck. I might just grab one from MobileCity as their prices seem about the same as an unlocked 900 version on other sites. If I hear chatter of release by a U.S. carrier, I could wait a little more, but I really want one.

I don't think I'd roll with one on Ebay...who knows if the phone is legit??? I saw someone on another site saying that they got an unlocked one from this place: http://www.mobilecityonline.com/wirel ess/store/productdetail.asp?productid=22311 He said he didn't work there/no connection to store, and that it seemed to be the proper phone (noted as 6300b under the battery). I still am going to wait a little longer to see if it pops up with a U.S. carrier.

The Canadian version (currently) is only available locked to Fido. I haven't seen anything online about an unlocked 850 version.

850 version available in Canada...but not U.S.
May 15, 2007, 11:04 AM
in the Nokia 6300 forum

I don't get it. I love Nokia phones, but I live in the States. Nokia doesn't seem to have lots of love for the U.S. They have released the 850 version of the 6300 for Canada, but it's locked to Fido. C'mon Nokia...what gives already???

U.S. version now expected Q2
Mar 29, 2007, 1:51 PM
in the Nokia 6300 forum

Nokia seems to have an ever-changing response to the question, "When will the U.S. version be released?" First it was Q1. Then it was "might not be released". Also thrown in the mix was end of '07. A nokia rep told me yesterday that the latest word is "Q2". So...anytime before the summer, Nokia might actually release the 850 version.

There are many places online now to buy the 900Mhz version (or, European version) of the 6300. No one, as far as I am aware, has a U.S. version (one with 850band).

I've been searching all over and can't find any info (other than Q1) for the U.S. release. Some folks seem to think that Nokia won't release it until the 2nd half of the year. I spoke with a Nokia rep who said "if" it is released in the U.S....not "when". So that's not super positive. While I love Nokia, it seems like they are trying to lose U.S. market share. Should it arrive in the U.S., ...

I've been searching for the same answer, but have found nothing yet. Unlocked 900 versions seem widely available...hopefully 850s are soon to follow. there has to be someone from Nokia (or Cingular/TMobile) who can shed a little light here...no?

Q4? That doesn't sound right. Everything on-line says Q1 and it's curretnly available unlocked. I'm hoping someone knows of a specific release date (rather than just Q1). My current phone (Samsung D807) just doesn't compare to Nokia quality...and I'm ready to switch back to Nokia.

Release Date?
Jan 30, 2007, 11:08 AM
in the Nokia 6300 forum

Does anyone know a U.S. release date and carrier for the 6300? I have seen it for sale on a number of sites that sell unlocked GSM phones, but I think I'd rather wait to see where it pops up in the U.S. before going that route. Thanks.

Why so slow with new/upcoming phone listings?
Jan 24, 2007, 2:15 PM
in the phonescoop.com forum

I have been a big fan of Phonescoop for a long time. Each time I heard about an upcoming phone, I could always trust Phonescoop to profile that phone before (or at the same time as) any other website. Lately, however, it seems that while the articles are timely, the phone profiles are not. If there is an option to search for new phones by FCC approval dates, then it seems like phones approved months ago should be ...

That's great! I love that response. I am waiting until Nokia releases a new phone in the same "slim-style" that samsung is offering and I bet it will actually function as a good...phone. No more Samsung for me.

don't buy if you want to hear your caller
Aug 12, 2006, 9:06 PM
in the Samsung SGH-D807 / D806 forum

When I bought the phone, I really liked (and still do) the style/bright display/etc. Now, I find myself more and more annoyed that the earpiece volume is awful. The volume goes up to "5" and would be fine if it went to "10". People I call have a hard time hearing me clearly as well. I switched my SIM card back to an old Nokia and couldn't believe the difference. In short - looks great; performs terribly.

#1. I had similar problems with double copies of my contacts from the SIM card. I just went through and deleted the extras. As far in order...they are all in order (it probably just put entries out of order since it labeled them as "2"). #2 - Don't know. #3 - My phone vibrates and rings. Go to Phone Settings, Incoming Call, and set it as "Vibrate & Ring". #4 - Looks like they want everyone to buy ...

Re: 6230 vs 6230i
Apr 18, 2005, 2:29 PM
in the Nokia 6230i forum

As you have the phone already, can you please let me know if you are able to change the font color on the "wallpaper" page? I've got the 6230 and can't use any photos as wallpaper b/c I can't read caller ID in black font over any photos that aren't white. Also...can you assign unique ringtones to callers instead of just groups? Thanks.

I wish I could help. I just got the phone as well, and find the black font to be useless. Why even allow for wallpaper if you can't read an incoming call, date, time, etc.??? So...anyone...please help. Any ideas? Also...is it really the case that you can't set different ring tones for different callers? That's a VERY basic function for such a phone to lack.

Does this phone really lack ringer ID? That's a pretty basic function to lack. Can anyone tell me if that's just a misprint on the site? Also...a US release date would be swell. Thanks.

Any info on a release date for this phone? I'm trying to decide between this and the P777. I'm currently stuck with Sprint and can't wait to switch to Cingular or Tmobile for GSM service.

C'mon...Wearing a belt click is the definition of "I am either a doctor or someone who hopes never to attract women over the course of my live." It seems you're not a doctor. Either way, it's all good...'n funny. Don't worry, I'm sure that someone will hook you up with a link to "My Little Pony" belt accessories. :D

Maybe you should do without a belt clip and save everyone the hassle of having to make fun of you for using one.

Anyone have any idea about a release date? Also, according to another site, the phone does have a speakerphone: http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/details.php?i d=1006 Finally, who cares about a phone with an mp3 player...how quickly will that kill your battery anyway?
