Re: All I have to say is...
Really? We don't already have enough problems to deal with... ugh.
Re: Alltel still exists??
Actually, VZW didn't offer squat. To have the deal approved they were ordered to divest 105 markets. In fact there were markets in northeastern Ohio that had GTE divested to Alltel in the formation of VZW that VZW had to scramble to keep. The FCC wanted to keep that area in trust until the ten year moratorium passed. VZW did something (paid someone off in the DOJ most likely) to be able to retain those markets.
Re: With a name like Huawei you wonder if they have chinese ties?
Huawei (hwa way) is a Chinese company. Though there are few controversies surrounding them, give me a Chinese company that HASN'T been accused of human rights violations
Re: If they divest markets.....
Alltel's divested markets were purchased by AT&T, Atlantic Tele-networks and Element Wireless. T-mobile did not purchase any of Alltel's markets.
Re: Didn't Sprint...
Who are you? This is the second or third time I have seen you saying inflamatory things about Sprint as if you had a brain cell.
First, DT wanted entirely too much for T-mobile. Sprint offered a reasonable amount and DT refused. DT wanted far more the T-mobile is worth and AT&T coughed it up to simply push the Duopoly.
Second, Sprint is not some old guy at a yard sale. It is advocate for consumer rights. They are fighting ...
Re: alltel?
"Alltel" is now a wholly owned subsidiary of Atlantic tele-networks. The purchased the divested markets from Verizon Wireless that were not purchased by AT&T and Element Wireless. They purchased the rights to the Alltel name, marketing icons and company emblems. Most of the top execs of Alltel were hired on by ATN to run the new Alltel.
Re: To all ......
So, let's see... competition be damned, choice be damned, let prices go through the roof, let AT&T control all the spectrum and prevent anyone else (who incedentally has worked hard to earn the money the needed to do it) from starting new cell phone companies. As long as unions win out its good for everyone else?
First, I have worked my tail off to get my Bachelors degree in business leadership and continue to work hard to get my masters. ...
Re: you should be too
I completely agree, the problem with prepaid is that it will be controlled by AT&T and VZW as well so there will be nowhere to hide lol.
Re: Dear Sprint
Twelve consecutive quarters of customer satisfaction and growth
Return to pre-2006 cash-on-hand numbers
Revenue equaling in the three billion range
I could go on but doing so would be a waste of breath on a moron. Before you start ranting and spouting off things you have no clue about... do some fact checking. Sprint will fight this afront to customer freedom and the free market economy for the good of the consumer.
Re: AT&T...
As for Sprint being an "Also Ran"... I will admit between the mistake that was the Nextel merger and December 2007 when Dan Hesse came on board that what you spoke of was true. Sprint went from being an inovator (First 2G network, First 3G network, First EVDO release) to being faceless corporation that cared more about making money and getting customers then it cared about keeping them. During that time it didn't matter if we had 3 to ...
Re: The Duopoly is almost complete.........
In addition to that, most of the countries you speak of are socialist countries where the government has a lot more control over price and network availability. In the free-market economy that the US claims to the government tries its best to stay out of business to avoid losing millions of dollars in kick-backs and under the table payments per year.
In the end this will strip choice and reduce market freedom and that is exactly what ATT and ...
Re: so
Yeap, everybody. You, Bozo the clown, Chris Ziegler, everybody. I am expecting my summons in the mail in the next day or so.
Re: My point exactly.
For almost 100 years AT&T was allow to run a monopoly of landline service under the umbrella of Bell Systems. This monoploy was sanctioned by the FCC and the Government. In 1984 that corporation was finally destoryed and broken into seven competing peices.
Now a company broken off of that corrupt monopoly, baby bell Southwestern Bell Company; is trying to do again in the wireless industry. The problem is they are facing... another baby bell in Bell Atlantic (Verizon ...
Re: Verizon To Acquire Sprint.
We are? I work for the Sprint and I have not heard of this. In fact CEO Hesse has gone on record stating that any of our future plans will involve clearwire. As much as I may not agree with this, we have spent billions on suring up clearwire we are not about to abandoned that investment.
Re: So Now ATT is
When Alltel was purchased by Verizon, the Verizon guy convienently disappeared from the commercials and then Verizon marketing took over. It is only recently since ATN took over that Chad has returned to TV. T-mobile will probably be the same.
Re: Tmobile has 42,000 employees guess how many after the merger?
Or like me when I worked for Alltel and was bought by Verizon, demoted and forced to move 900 miles without relocation benefit. All for a job with no chance of advancement. Good luck T-mobile employees... Sprint is hiring lol
Re: Hmm... they need to make sure it has 2 things going for it.
iDEN won't be dead, it will just be leased off to the government for large amounts of money to Sprint. This makes us at Sprint happy, we are trying to get rid of it and have been for sometime.
Re: Sprint reps unaware of free calls to Japan :?
We were informed of this as of noon this morning. There should be no further confusion on this issue. Thank you for being a Sprint customer.
Re: Finally
We recieved communication of the free calls at noon this afternoon. Free text messages both to normal numbers and short codes was communicated to us on Friday. So any further calls for this issue should not meet with the same confusion.
Re: Well, at least LTE data is unlimited!
First, Epic is a Sprint exclusive device... Samsung may make a clone of it for (Just as this Thunderbolt is nothing more then a clone of the EVO) but they will never get the Epic.
Second, only Sprint offers completely unlimited 4G and it will stay that way. Verizon has already stated that they will be placing limits on the amounts of data transit this summer. If you want this device and truly unlimited 4G... get an EVO.
Re: Well Life Sux.
That should been a replay to Geeksarebest... not the original message...
Re: Well Life Sux.
I am not sure you specifically know what you are talking about. I admit that there are dead areas where the Big TWO do not have coverage but service just doesn't work there. For all the years I worked at Verizon I never saw a bill with domestic roaming charges.
Now Sprint (current employer) does charge for roaming off network but that is only because Verizon does not allow a roaming agreement in those areas. For the most part ...
