Hey, one positivie is LTE data is still unlimited on smartphones.

Now all I have to do is wait for a Samsung Epic with LTE to launch on Verizon. I really want a smartphone with a Super AMOLED display.

I have a feeling that the unlimited for $29.99 is a mistake because of all other things I have read in past hoe they are going to charge for how much you use and how fast. But if it is correct I am going to get one and be grandfathered in..

Yeah, I know what your saying. I've been reading the same things about tiered data coming. I think I read it's coming this summer.

These carriers want to see what LTE networks can handle, and it's gonna take a while to get the kind of traffic to push the LTE network. But hopefully eventually we will get data plans higher than 10gb's/mo, cause video chatting, and watvhing HQ videos are going to use up 10gigs easily.

I've been reading about tiered pricing also. Most every tging I read makes me think that only 3G contacts wil be "grand fathered" in. So I wonder what the requirements will be to be grandfathered in though? If it would be with settling for 3G? I don't have 4G in my area. I just want the best up grade, at the best price. & 249.99$ is better than full price of 800$. & Ill be a step ahead when they get 4G in my area. But the pricing.... I'll be watching.

Verizon's first 4G phone. This will give me the opportunity to go through the motions of an upgrade online and see if my grandfathered features would transfer. If so... I may have to switch handsets when I get my upgrade on my 8300 line and sell the Incredible. Nyah! The Incredible WAS free after all. Paying for a Thunderbolt as much as I would love to have one would diminish my deal.

So? If one gets in before the change one will be grandfathered. That's a win. It gives customers a sense of urgency to buy the phone now.

First, Epic is a Sprint exclusive device... Samsung may make a clone of it for (Just as this Thunderbolt is nothing more then a clone of the EVO) but they will never get the Epic.

Second, only Sprint offers completely unlimited 4G and it will stay that way. Verizon has already stated that they will be placing limits on the amounts of data transit this summer. If you want this device and truly unlimited 4G... get an EVO.

"Just as this Thunderbolt is nothing more then a clone of the EVO"

Agreed! And it's about time too.

"Verizon has already stated that they will be placing limits on the amounts of data transit this summer"

You mean throttling? (Doesn't that just sound obscene? Throttle me baby!) But that is for new customers. They are on record saying that they will not throttle existing customers. So I'm good and after all that is all that counts. But Sprint has unlimited tethering, right? Verizon definetly can't touch that!
