Agreed. I seriously doubt many T-Mobile customers will be happy about this. Just like Sprint, T-Mobile's cheaper priceplans are pratically the only reason for not going with AT&T or Verizon. Fact of the matter is there are many American's that don't care how good their covearge is outside of their city that do not want to pay $130.00/month for a phone with a data plan. The only thing this merger will acomplish is a raise in prices.

At&t acquiring T-mo is a great thing. At&t is a union shop and T-mo is not.
People ( good employee's ) will benefit.

As for the competition aspect T-mo does not influence competition NOW. Anymore than DSHS and welfare influence the job market. So will them being gone negatively affect competition? NO!

VZW is keeping their nose out of it because AT&T stayed out of their All-tell buyout.
VZW knows that when At&t has to divest they will be there to pick up the scraps.

If any of you has a big issue with it you should have done better in school and worked hard enough to be in the position that allows you to have control. Seeing that you did not you can all keep quiet.

I do not see an issue with this at all. There will still ...

Calling you retarded would only insult people with real brain problems, you are just willfully stupid. I would be hard pressed to find dumber statements than what you just said anywhere on phonescoop.

No, the only thing that is non-debateable is his statement that handset makers can spur innovation. While that may be true of the handset themselves, it's not going to dicate network pricing or infrastructure.

Trying to invalidiate his arguement by calling him stupid only shows that you have the debating skills of a five year old.

So, let's see... competition be damned, choice be damned, let prices go through the roof, let AT&T control all the spectrum and prevent anyone else (who incedentally has worked hard to earn the money the needed to do it) from starting new cell phone companies. As long as unions win out its good for everyone else?

First, I have worked my tail off to get my Bachelors degree in business leadership and continue to work hard to get my masters. I work hard as a customer service specialist for Sprint.

So I think my creditenals as a hard worker are evident. Anyone who can see beyond their own wallet can see this is bad for everyone as whole. Sure it might bring a union to T-mobile... for the ten or so employees that AT&T keeps just to try to ...

While 80% of your post is candid and upfront, the remaining 20% came off as a little insulting. Not knowing the educational levels of many of the posters here, makes your statement a conjecture of precluded results.

There are many people in this world that have a tremendous amount of education, but they may never be in a delegating position level you are referring to. In fact, very few anyone, will ever reach the level these CEOs have obtained. The economy has created casualties of many hardworking, educated people. Many have had to start from scratch to re-establish some sort of relevant middle ground. So your comment was a little unfair in your assessment. No one ever has complete control at this level of business.

As far as the 80% ...

As a user of both services (simulataneously - right now) I can honestly tell you that you are wrong. I have a wonderful (hardware wise)Galaxy Capitvate that ATT has rendered into a near brick-like-state of an iPhone by limiting the OS in the opposite fashion for which Android was created.

My T-Mobile phone is a slightly backdated LG-P509 (cant remeber the trade name right now). I use the older Tmobile service rather than the ATT, even though connections are usually weaker, just because the phone is so much more useful for the smart phone I bought it for.

This reason alone, makes me very skepical that ATT contolling 50%(+?) of the market is a good thing - regardless of how well it treats it's employees.

Concerning you comment on edu...
