While the original post was quite a while ago so any reply at this point is a bit irrelevant, he was just trying a sob story. There are a number of issues any carrier will have with customer service. What obviously happened was the line was not canceled, it was put on a lost stolen disable so chargers were still valid. The customer in this case did not check to see what had actually happened and left things ...

I attempted to reply to this Monday but I guess I never ended up hitting submit and got caught up in something else. My point was, if the customer had half a brain they would end up returning it because they would see that they would be wracking up overage. They won't return it though because they are too dumb to check their usage on anything other than a monthly bill, which they wont be receiving for 2 months, once ...

a customer wants a USB Internet card but you know they will wrack up overage. You tell them they will wrack up overage, but they want to get it anyway. Then the only reason you sell it to them is because their billing cycle just closed and you know they wont see the chargers for over 2 months and they are too stupid to call in or check for the overage the will most assuredly have before its ...

If you click on the 'Terms' tab for a phone (in the More Info section), it lists that the offer ends 4/16. Some offers are extended after their first expiration date, some are not. The expiration of this offer is not company proprietary info.

Ah. Yeah I'm perfectly fine with it requiring a data plan. I just think its borked that apple made verizon get rid of a data plan that worked just fine with their other smartphones. I know I would use data, I want to use data, I just wont use massive amounts of it to justify a $30 data pack.

I guess you could call it that. I imagine I would do more web surfing on my phone if I had a full HTML browser but I don't. I don't NEED a smart phone but I would like to play around with the apps available to them. Plus mobile gaming sucks on feature phones. Look at it from the carrier side. If someone has a smartphone data package and ISN'T using it to the max they are getting money ...

I agree. Both sides have information issues. The only time I ever get frustrated myself is when someone is given information that is completely contradicted by things easily listed and found in the account. This is inexcusable on either side.

What department do you work in? The only department that it should matter for, telesales, does not get this. Care should not be doing sales, they are not trained for it and there are way to many instances of misinformation and customer's being told about offers that don't exist. Thank fully I'm not in the care transfer queue anymore, I have new garbage to deal with now, but when I was i got 3-4 calls a day, sometimes more, where ...

Plus, apparently Apple made Verizon get rid of their $15 smart-phone data plan. Even though it had a pretty low cap there are a great deal of people out there who it would be perfect for. Alas, Apple is the devil and I hate them.

Couldn't be the fact that most prepaid carries have crappy phones and no easy replacement options for damage. Plus if you flash in a phone from someone else you run the risk of messing it up permanently and half the services not working. Couldn't be.

Our internal resources for the Intercept on Sprint say 667 for the processor but at the last device fair we had I was chatting with someone from Samsung who said it was 800. Much confusion ensues. I've also seen internal phone comparison charts that list it as having an 800. If it is 800, this would not be the first time the first resource I checked has been wrong. (Though I don't remember what the previous time actually ...

If a 3rd party can't make notes, then they should should be calling dealer support and not sprint directly. If this was done by everyone, then there would be no beef with 3rd party dealers. No sprint department will be able to assist you because you have a dealer support line that is supposed to do that. Dealer support is the only department that can look at what you guys do. Telesales (which is where "problems" usually end ...

I've seen a corporate store put notes in an account less than 5% of the time I've seen access notes from them. That does not change the fact that, they are required to note accounts. The reason people don't get fired or put on a write up is because its an automated system access note that shows up. Not the reps actual ID so theres no tracking mechanism. This keeps the incompetent store reps from getting fired ...

If its a situation where you can quote policy sure but that is only part of a reason accounts should be noted. My beef is when a store does not note that a phone was returned to them and they don't reset eligibility either. If its noted the phone was returned we have something to go off of. Retentions can usually do an override with enough begging and pleading. The return tracking number is usually preferable, but at that ...

That does not change the fact that stores should be noting the account after speaking with a customer regardless of what was discussed.

When this question was asked. Telesales did not have sim cards available, that has since changed. Way to necropost with little to no contribution to the thread. :x Another thing commonly associated with these situations, is that telesales can not send a SIM card out for free. Telesales must charge for a sim card, and cannot issue any credits. If the customer has a spending limit, they will need a card to put the charges for it on.

The only way that could really work would be if it was an opt in option. It could also potentially be quite a pain in the rear to program something like that. I imagine there are quite a few more users logged in at any given time than you might think.

Unless of course you happen to work for Big Red, to be fair we don't sell the MiFi anymore. Its been off the list of available devices, at least though telesales, for a good few months now. :P I agree though. It is unacceptable that someone would be that dumb. The catch 22 in the situation is that telesales does not have KMS we have TINC. You have no way to check our documents and we have no way to check yours. Its kinds of a dumb set up actually. Supposedly things will be all converted over to kms but I've never heard the time frame. Also, supposedly the site in Sarnia has KMS because they operate a few other departments than just telesales but the vast majority of ...

3 party battery doors?

Anyone know any ways I might be able to obtain a 3rd party battery door for a Samsung m360. Web sites or anything like that. I'd put this in a more relevant forum but they dont have as much traffic. Samsung aparently does not carry the battery door because its too new. And its not on Sprints website of available accessories.

Does AT&T have 2 websites or something? I keep hearing about a 70 dollar Unlimited talk, Text, data plan. Last I heard AT&T had moved to Tier based data plans so as to not overload the network. All I can find for plans is the $70 Unlimited talk that was annoucned a while ago about the same time Verizon did. Are these people just full of it or am I missing something?

In my experience most centers have a fixed budget for incentive that they can give. They have to spread it among all the performers on the floor so if everyone sucks, the people who don't get more money. If you have a higher percentage of competence, unfortunately not everyone gets as much. I'm sure this isn't the same everywhere but I would think most are something close.

Carriers don't make up money from subsidized pricing from the plan, they make it up from you being an A plan month over month when you sign a contract. Your argument is only valid if someone offers a "non subsidised" version of the same plan but forces you onto a higher plan. I see where your going with your argument, but you are leaving out some key details.

Re: maybe I don't get it

Where are they being double taxed? I haven't seen a T-Mobile bill but I look at sprint bills all day long and I've yet to see anything that mentions a charge for subsidized pricing. People haven't filed lawsuits because they wouldn't hold up in court. Knowing something and proving it are two different things. Though maybe if people actually understood how subsidized pricing works they may act less stupid. I doubt it but one can always hope.

Re: why does Sprint run promotions on phones that are low on inventory?
Oct 2, 2010, 12:35 PM

If its a "crap phone" why do you care if its out of stock. The problem with the instinct is has nothing to do with the device itself. People think its a smart phone and expect it to be but its not. Its a feature phone with some extras thrown in. If you expect a Lexus when you buy a Datsun, your going to be disappointed. End of story.

You could TRY to get more discounts but for the intercept that is as cheap as its gonna get. Some phones we have the ability to try for more discounts on, the intercept is not one of them. Good phone, don't get me wrong. We just don't have the ability to negotiate price. We can match what ever our website lists. Thats about it.
