A question
How many people are walking and texting and NOT looking down at their phone in their hands. Wouldn't most people just get a transparent image displaying their own feet?
I don't see a lot of walking text zombies looking up.
ugh
I tried the app and already deleted it.
There is no functionality, just a forecast. No radar, no details, no warnings or alerts. It wasn't any better than the HTC weather widget already on my phone.
Is this a big deal?
I am understanding that the upcoming version of blackberry's OS will allow users to download Android apps direct from Blackberry's AppWorld.
At least that's what the tablet guy told me when we took their training.
Re: Who buys Samsung phones?
"quit after getting 80% of the design right"
That's the quote of the day, sir.
Kudos.
Re: ha ha
I read this site daily. That's at least one.
I concur, though. This phone is ugly
Re: This is BS...
The new BB OS is based on QNX software and shares no common root to the older operating system.
It would be like trying to load Windows 7 on your Commodore 64. The older devices aren't built to handle it.
Blackberry made a big deal out of their software company acquisitions-- namely QNX, TAT and others I can't seem to recall.
What a surprise
I think I'll have a heart attack.
AND DIE.
From that surprise.
Re: good luck is so true they will need all the help they can get
Do they need the sames to stay at RS's levels?
I mean, if sales drop fifty percent, but they no longer have to split the revenue with another company, aren't they still money ahead?
Re: is standardization a good thing?
I don't know what kind of innovation I expect to see from an effing phone charger.
That's kind of my point. We seem to have decided that "good enough" is good enough and we no longer care if a better solution presents itself.
I certainly never said that standardizing phone chargers was bad in and of itself, just that I wonder if standardizing things, in general, is a good idea.
is standardization a good thing?
My instinct tells me that standardization stifles innovation.
While everybody having to have the same charge port seems like a consumer win, does it mean that down the road a newer, better solution gets shelved in favor of "standard"?
I'm just asking.
Re: Which is
It's cool.
Phonescoop got it changed on the article now
umm, guys?
It's available for the 9330, according to the link attached to the article.
I don't think the 8330 curve could handle such an update.
I'm astounded
It just sounds like Microsoft already knows they have lost the handset OS battle and they aren't even going to really try to get back in.
Re: Really?
Try "Radio Time". I have used this app on a Palm Pre and on an android device.
It will play local stations (Including NPR), stations from other cities, or individual programs as you choose.
What's new
What's new is a college option that allows you to track your favorite college team just like it does for the pro teams.
It looks like a good addition to the app.
Re: lol um no...
Again, my objection is not about warning people about unexpected overcharges. I dealt with this problem this very morning, where a lady had data charges on her account that must have resulted from "pocket dialing" up the Internet of the device.
I simply disagree that we need Federal regulatory intervention for what should be a customer care issue.
Let the marketplace decide who's plans have the fewest hidden charges.
Re: lol um no...
Really not meant as a real-life comparison. My comment has to do witht he sad state off affairs that results in the government feeling the need to regulate something as basic as the personal responsibility for one's cell phone and plan.
(Like if I drive my car too far and end up having to fill my tank more often...)
Or how about people who choose ay-per-view events and get larger-than expectde cable bills?
Thanks.
How about making my car issue a "Bill Shock" warning if I drive too many miles in a single day?
Makes just as much sense.
Re: not good at all...
I've been hearing talk of a new plan requirement for the 4g for weeks now. Its not much of a shock.
It'll still be a better value than you can get with *another* carrier
Re: What if you don't want the Sense UI...
Don't hold back...
