You must have your old receipt for your trade in phone
From their fine print:
"Used Smartphone Devices that are sent in that do not qualify either because a) the model of used Device is not eligible or b) the Device is not in the condition stated or c) does not have a qualifying Proof of Purchase will not be eligible for Program and will be recycled without any payment and any OEM incentives are forfeited. After your mail-in your used Device, you cannot get it back, even if you return ...
Re: the two slots on the bottom?
Those would be dual speakers with a micro usb in the middle.
Re: Wrong specs??
It's the right specs
It does have Super AMOLED
However, it has Snapdragon processor because Microsoft forced all the OEM's to use that chip.
So Samsung had to take their own chip out and grudgingly buy the Snapdragon to put in their phone. It sucks because the Hummingbird is a more powerful processor with MUCH better GPU inside.

It has "night mode"
You dont need flash. The camera has "night mode" that boosts the sensitivity of its sensors in low light conditions. It has a fast F2.8 lens.
Re: Bada and Meego === Failed OS's
Bada is actually a cheaper alternative to full blown Smart OSes.
Samsung's intention is to lower the entry price of a smart phone so that the masses out there can utilize it at a more affordable price and yet still get the benefit of a semi-fully operational smart OS.
Samsung is the world 2nd largest mobile phone manufacturer. It sold over 225 million phones last year. If Samsung entices at least 1/4 of their user base to switch over ...
Apple awoke the sleeping giant...
.. and now gets some real competition.
Re: the blade phone in GSM FORM
"isnt it the same phone but in GSM but they added more stuff 2 it???"
If we follow your logic, then every single phone that comes out from now on is based on the previous but "more stuff 2 it".
The phone that you are holding in your hand is basically an At&T "brick phone" just slimed down and with more stuff 2 it.
2.3 inch screen!!
Just found out its got a 2.3 inch QVGA screen. Nice.
Just because its....
...thin and is a bar type phone makes this a knockoff? So that would mean all mobile phones would be a knockoff since they all have buttons, speakers, a mic and wireless antenna.
Flash memory from Samsung
Samsung made a deal with Sony as well (not just Apple Computer). Look for more and more 2GB and over flash music players to come on the market in the near future.
Is everything a copy to you?
It's thin, has buttons and a screen. A DIRECT COPY OF MOTOROLA!!! HOW COULD THEY?!
Please...
Re: Great, but where is a GSM model?
Um...if you had read the information more carefully you would find that Samsung DID wake up and offered a GSM version. This particular phone has BOTH CDMA AND GSM. They put in GSM in place of the Wi-Fi (SCH-i730).
Pictures for the rest of the phones (plus Specs) MUST READ!

Re: Dunno....Black can be tricky
Trust me..its a good color black. I've held it, used it and made calls with it here in South Korea. The only thing keeping me from buying it i s the expensive price. :?
Look carefully....
Look carefully its there... the 2 little LED lights one on the left of the camera housing and one on the right.
Re: Umm.....ok?
The anti-bacterial coating is called "Silver Nano Technology". It's a Samsung patented anti-bacterial technology adopted from their washing machines and refrigerators. It uses billions of nano sized silver ions to essentially "break up" the membranes of bacterias so they are deemed ineffective to live.
A recent study found there were lots and lots of bacteria on people's phones. This is one way to differentiate themselves from the competition. They are looking into adopting this technology into even more products.
About time
Good to see these phones are coming out. Just waiting for a US launch. :(
Why the government SHOULD be involved
Phonegeek, do you honestly think phone companies would spend the money to upgrade their systems so people's lives could be saved? Do you really believe that that is going to happen in a capitalistic world where competition is cut throat and every dollars counts?
I dont think so. If it were not for the government, this initiative wouldn't even be conceived in the minds of the executives. This venture is not profitable at all, in fact, they lose money ...
Re: Sanyo MM-8300 or Samsung MM-A880?
VGA is only 640 x 480 resolution. Mega pixel is usually around 1024 x 680.
Personally, I like the pictbridge capability of printing out photos without using a computer.
Re: Forget about the Nokia 6255i
CoreyTheGent said:
Obviously plenty disagree, seeing as how Nokia is #1 by a large margin while Samsung is a distant #3.
#1 marketshare because their phones are cheap. Average selling price of Samsung phones are twice that of Nokia.
Basic Technology, not RAZR miniaturization
This agreement is about the use of fundamental technologies underlying both GSM and CDMA (which both companies have major patents). It does not go beyond that.
Yet another Samsung innovation
You will be able to play Flash games on your phone. I've seen some sample demnostrations of the SCH-S260 sold in South Korea playing Flash games. It was really neat. The potential for this new UI is limitless.
Re: U-G-L-Y you ain't got no alibi... you ugly
Aesthetics is subjective.
Thanks for your opinion. I have mine.
Re: Too bad
You dont know what your talking about. It's the other way around.
No Bluetooth for a reason.....
It's not the phone manufacturers who dictate what goes on inside the phone, but the CARRIERS.
The carriers (mostly CDMA) dont want Bluetooth enabled phones to be on their shelves because it eats away their profit margins from using the "extra services" they provide. (ie music downloads, software downloads etc)
It DOES have BLUETOOTH
Read more carefully.
