i accidentally ran my phone over with my airplane, so i got the 9000 as the insurance replacement (yesterday). i am SO freakin' happy about this phone. EVERYTHING is better. Same basic fearures, but everything is enhanced. Data is EV-DO. The camera and camcorder actually usable in dark places. (the 5600 was HORRIBLE in even moderately lit rooms. Prssing talk actually does bring up the recently dialed list (just found that out, thanks). ...
Night PIctures
just a thought off the top of my head, but if enough people complain about the night pictures to sanyo, wouldn't they be able to just make a firmware update that would include a 'night mode' so that the camera can stay open for a slight bit longer and absorb more light? i'm sure its really not THAT hard. so what, the pictures are a little blurred. better than not seeing any at all. thats the ONE ...

thats not true, i WILL take the songs as a ringer just don't insert a video, i did it already. BUT as soon as you assign it........it saves it to the phones memory, which kinda defeats the purpose. i have a post on here somewhere titled "video ringer" or something like that. look for it, i explain the settings that need to be made

got one to work!!!!
i connected the phone to the comp and used QuickTime to open a video that the phone created. under the 'Window' drop down there is 'show movie info' then i went to 'more info'
i mimicked the properties that the file had when encoding my videoringer.
Video:
3GPP2
32 kbits/sec
15 FPS
Audio:
AAC-LC(music)
32kbps
mono
16 kHz
i then went under the advanced tab and unchecked the 'fragment movie' option. not sure what that does, but the other file didn't say anything about it.

well, i used some video editing software to cut my video down to 30 seconds (long enough for a ringer) and it STILL doesn't let me assign it. its only like 450KB. i don't understand. unless its how the phone names the files or something dumb like that.
Assigning Video Ringers
you can assign video ringers from videos made BY the phone. i've tried many different settings and i can never get the phone to let me assign a home made video (converted on my computer). Does anyone know how to trick the phone into thinking that it actually made the video so that it can be assigned?
i converted it to .3g2. the videos play, just can't assign or send. anyone with suggestions? i know ...

i vouch fer this one, although my phone wouldn't detect the video that it made. so i ran it through a seperate time in QTPRO and it worked great, dunno why. Got 50 cent- candyshop on my phone. i wanna get a GB card, but everywhere and their mom is sold out. or not available.

i just tried it and its doing the same thing for me. I wonder if sprint uses some other way to get out on this phone, or if the feature is now turned off.............any sugestions from the wise and powerful?

i think it might be the size of the ringtone (video). try using some video editing software and cut out a 30 second portion (enough for a ringtone) and see if that works.

yup, your right. I'm just starting to get lazy at my old age of 27, i'm sure ONE of you young bucks has figured that ish out already. Honestly, some people really HAVE helped my "rear", i'd check to see who did, but i'm kinda drunk at the moment, which once again resurres the statment, that this all started with..................I'm lazy.

yah, i tried sending my calendar info.......wish i woulda known that SOONER. now i gotta go to the sprint store and see what they gotta say. i think it wrote info to a sector of the phone that shouldn't have been written to. i guess i'm the first person in the COUNTRY to have a bad 5600 ;-)

oh my god! you have GOT to be kidding me right now. i FINALLY got the program to transfer all my contacts. i go to turn the phone back on. and it starts up with the mm-5600 logo and then white screen and turns back off!.....i REALLY hope i didn't just crash the phone. ummmmm, yah, i'll let you know what happens! any suggestions on how to get it back up and running?

i have the snapsync software, have no idea what version it is (kinda drunk right now and don't feel like checking). Long story short, says "cannot open .dlls" (which i KNEW was gonna happen) anyone have the new DLLs or a fix for this? i have the ones for my 5500. i tryied to add that shiz manually, but it wasn't happening. help would be appriciated. thanx, and by the way. i think the phone is tight. ...

my dumb a$$ couldn't wait to buy the 5500 so i bought it the day after it came out (tuesday). not they have a rebate for the phone, from what i understand it says "150 instant rebate with activation and a 2 year contract.....or MAIL-IN rebate if you don't get a new contract. does anyone know if there is anyway that i can still get that rebate or should i just start rubbing on the vasoline?
