3GPP Ringtones in the MiniSD

So if you guys have noticed, all the videos that you take and save in the miniSD are 3GPP files. Well, Quicktime pro will convert anything to 3gpp... including M4A files. So my idea is to converta an M4A into 3GPP. This would enable us to use ringtones off of the MiniSD. Any Thoughts or comments? The program to do this with is Quicktime pro. Its 30 sum odd dollars and im too cheap to buy it and have the idea not work... So anyone know if it will or not? Thanks

it cant be done....i have tried everything....the only thing you can put on your card and use as a ringer or screensaver is vidoe as long as you remove the sound file....once you put a sound file on there, no matter what type of file it will not allow you to set it for a ringer.....

I called sanyo and was told that it will only recognize midi files, they were really evasive about the Mp3 thing saying that sprint tells them what they wanbt the phone to accept...

thats not true, i WILL take the songs as a ringer just don't insert a video, i did it already. BUT as soon as you assign it........it saves it to the phones memory, which kinda defeats the purpose. i have a post on here somewhere titled "video ringer" or something like that. look for it, i explain the settings that need to be made
