As someone who troubleshoots, repairs and sells phones to make a living, I agree with you. Task killers are generally a bad idea. I would estimate that about 85% of the phones I work on that are having software issues have some type of task killer/battery extender/anti-virus app on them. They don't always seem to undeniably be the root of the issue, but they are there most of the time something goes wrong. Also, depending on what setting you use ATK ...

Read PhoneArena's side by side comparison. If I'm biased, these boys are surely not. They're known for their quality reviews. "As we’ve come to expect, both handsets have their own unique perks and characteristics that make them so beloved in the eyes of the consumer, but it's the Motorola DROID RAZR that’s able to impress us most." Great phone? Yes. Twice the phone? So much for that

I've had 2 HTC phones and liked both of them a lot. I wanted to like the Rezound and GLADLY would've bought the phone, HTC Sense included, if I actually liked it better than the Razr. I don't. Sorry. Also, I would've thought by now that manufacturers would learn NOT to put the charging port on the side. Makes using the phone while charging horribly awkward. Top or bottom is best.

Alright buddy, as someone who owned the first HTC Sense Android phone I wouldn't say my reasons for not liking "Sense" are biased. Nice try though. It hogs the resources of the phone more than Moto Blur (at least the newer toned down version that Motorola implemented in the Bionic, Razr, Photon and Atrix 2) I will give HTC Sense its credit- the widgets provided with that particular UI are top notch. Also, the contact navigation is better. Other ...

Care to explain this at all? As in, the RAZR being a gimmick how exactly? Because it's thin? Last time I checked, form factor of a phone is only a gimmick if it's a slide-out speaker (surround) or a dual screened phone (Kyocera Echo). I've had both of these in my hand and have spent hours with each one. I opted for the Razr because HTC Sense makes the 1.5 gHz dual core feel slower than the Razr's 1.2 gHz ...

Also...Motorola has implemented a hardware reset...power button and volume down to reset a frozen device. So the only benefit to pulling the battery would be adding a new one. That said, most reviews I've seen are pretty unfair and unrealistic regarding battery life, at least in my experience.

I can't see myself using a Windows 7 device as I am too attached to Android, however I disagree that it's hideous. The live tiles and the sAMOLED screens on the new devices are beautiful. The colors are also entirely customizable. I think WP7 does exactly what it intends to do- simplify the experience of using a smartphone, and it does it well. Apple is suing because the menu slides side to side instead of the traditional Android vertical slide? Unreal. As if this is going to jeopardize Apple's sales in any way. As if people go into the store and say "I only want phones that have a side-to-side swiping menu. if it helps Sprint manaage its costs...however not grandfathering anyone in is a BAD move that will result in a lot of churn to other carriers. The only benefit of staying with Sprint over say Verizon is the unlimited 4G. Now when you take that away from me, LTE looks even more superior to WiMax than it already is. Unless you actually use less than 3GB a month, that is.

I'm still glad to see this "Apothecary" guy stripped of power. He has taken a once proud brand name and virtually made it a PR circus. His decision to dump WebOS was a bit shortsighted as it's actually a pretty decent OS on tablets. It could be great if it had more support from app developers.

Why can you not make your decision as to whether or not you like your phone within 14 days as opposed to 30? Honestly, when I buy a piece of hardware I know whether or not I like it within a few days, maybe less. I would think 2 weeks would be perfectly sufficient. Especially if you just do a little research and hands-on demos before buying.

I agree that VZW's LTE is the best out now, but AT&T has just activated their LTE network with HSPA+ backhaul (which is better than EvDO). Also, Sprint is looking to start up LTE. They will all end up at the same place eventually, but Verizon is just lightyears ahead.

And you think that won't change once an Apple product gets into Sprint's network? History repeats itself. I ditched Sprint to get a VZW iPhone (didn't want AT&T) and have no regrets, because I know Sprint's low prices can't last once an iPhone is in the mix. Bye bye unlimited- within six months.
