Lumia 900

I have the pleasure of getting my hands on a Lumia 900 on wednesday. I have to say I am very impressed with the way the phone feels. Not only does WP7.5 operate at very steady pace in all aspects, the screen makes everything look great also. The way simple apps look like facebook, and foursquar looks so much better on WP7.5 versus android or Iphone. Everyone due for a upgrade needs to take a look and consider this ...

my wife has had the 200mb data plan for over a year, and has all the push notifications set, she does alot of email, facebook, and web surfing and is way under 200mb. I on the other hand have the 2gb plan, I stream alot of pandora, probibly between 1-3 hours a day on the cellular network. I mkae sure im on WIFI whenever possible. I did go over 2GB once, but they charged me $10 for a additional ...

at&t is also dragging on LTE to make the congress think the buy out of T-Mobile is imperative for at&t to stay competitive. If they focused on LTE like they have focused on the HSPA back haul, congress wouldnt even consider letting at&t buy T-mobile. Its all stratagy, PC World has proven time and time again tha at&t has had the faster 3G network. EDGE is faster then Verizons 3G, at&t is willing to sacrifice a few years to ...

Re: samsung infuse 4g or htc inspire?
Jun 1, 2011, 1:05 PM
in the AT&T forum

The Inspire is a better built phone, as to the person commenting on the size of the infuse and it being more likely to drop I would have to disagree. I have used Atrix, Inspire and Infuse and neither of them have feel out of my hands easily. Although the Infuse and so many samsung phones before tend to focus on features rather then physical construction the phone does feel cheap. But it more then makes up for it ...

at this point in the game it really doesnt matter what carrier you have unless you live in one of the few areas Verizon has LTE. Either way by the end of 2012 beggining of 2013 boith carriers will have the entire network on LTE. However at&t will have HSPA+ and HSUPA+ to fall back on in the small areas that LTE wont exist...Verizon will only have EDVDO which we all know is slow as hell. Coverage between carriers ...

the Infuse is a single core, and being a user of the Atrix, Inspire, and Infuse (yes I work for at&t) the Atrix has much better battery life, however the screen on the Infuse is 1.5 inches bigger, and the Super Amoled Plus display makes everything look fantastic. Although the Infuse is bigger its so light I barely notice a difference in physical size. Playing games on the Infuse is better because of the screen. However the Atrix is ...

AT&T and Verizon are the best cell phone networks in the country in terms of coverage, and none 4G speeds. All these advertismnts about 4G is usless at this point, cause neither of the carriers have enough 4G coverage for it to even matter. Sprints coverage isnt nearly good enough for apple to consider, and T-moble well lets just say the majority of thier customers cant even prnounce Iphone (Ipone) let alone even use it on a us carrirs ...

I have been in the industry for over 4 years working directly with at&t, the last 9 months I have been in the national retail side of things. January was the only month I didnt hit my goals, they base our goals on a three month average, December was a huge month for me, I figured at&t would take the fact that december is busiest sales month in NR and wouldnt make my goal so hi in Jan since ...

this is true, the phone its self you wont make money on, but you will get paid on the fact of weather its a upgrade or new activation, plus feature attach, and acc attach, im not sure how those other people get paid but they need to find a better commish paying job.

I used to think that way aswell until I became the rep for three best buys, they have the ability to do everything a corp store can do, just like a corp store it depends on the rep you get that determins the quality of the service.

I worked in a corp store for three years. I am now the rep for both Best Buy and Walmart. Best Buy prices are usually always cheaper, not to mention they offer Geek Squad Black Tie on all phones. This covers the phone if it gets broken or water damage. Its a monthly cost the gets charged to your debit, credit card. No commitment length, and no deductable, plus they give you a phone to use if it needs ...

no, but 4G is a hell of alot easier to say then HSPA+. Nor would the average consumer know what the hell HSPA+ is. They just know 4G's are faster the 3G's. So from a marketing stand point its the right thing to do.

I am so sick of at&t playing of verizon getting the Iphone like its nothing. My sales goals for the month of January were ridiculous, I doubt feb will be any better. We are being to whatever about this. the next two quarters are going to be painful. I would have to agree with the design, however I would have to put the blame on samsung judging by the phones of the past, samsung has always had great feature rich phone but looked and feels cheap. With that said, after playing with one for the past few hours I would almost prefer it over my Iphone. The Captivate is light weight, and the touch screen is smooth with almost no delay, typing on the keyboard feels similar ...

The HTC Ariea is a great phone, however the Samsung Captivate is much better, it hasnt come out yet, but it will have a 1GHZ snap dragon processor, with a 5MP camera, and will record 720p video with DROID 2.1os, its slated for a July, but might get Pushed to August. Despite the design the Backflip a a pretty nice phone, good reception, durable, the touch screen is gurilla glass, and the buttons on the keyboard are all one piece ...

i can understand people wanting android phones, but Android phones are in 4th place when it come to marketshare in the USA. RIM(blackberry) is 1st, Iphone 2nd, windows 3rd, and symbian etc...5th When there is no limit to what droid gets, there is no limit to what droid dose...that includes downloading apps which opens back doors to your phone allowing someone to make a copy of all the info allowing them to become a digital version of you. I totally agree, people love the words free, and unlimited. Coming from a sales backround I couldnt tell you how many people would love to have a blackberry, android, windows, Iphone, phone, but only need it for texting and facebook/myspace but dont want to pay $30 of unlimited data when all they will use is 100mb or so. Now those customers can buy a high end device, and pay half what they would of paid if they got it ...

the truth about at&t's new data plans
Jun 15, 2010, 12:27 PM
in the AT&T forum

This is my take on the new data plans that at&t is offering. Coming from someone who has been working in the indusrty for almost a decade, and what I would consider a heavy data user. Its been proven that 98% of at&t smartphone users use less then 2GB of data a month. 63% of that use less then 200mb. I am trying to put these facts to the test, I reset my data tracker on my iphone three weeks ...

The Samsung Impression will be your best choice in my opinion, unless you want a smart phone then I would recomend the tilt 2. Some places may still sell the Quick Fire, LG Xenon, but I would stay away from those. The Iphone has become one of the most popular phones because of design and functionality, so most likely touch screen phones with slide or flip out key boards are slowly fading out. I work in a Corporate owned ...

If at&t's 3G network is fater then Verizons then why wouldnt you automaticaly think it will be the same for the 4G network. To me it only makes sense to think like that. I guess we wont really know untill both carriers have it.

Re: ATT is beefing up network for Ipad & Iphone
Jan 30, 2010, 12:55 PM

if you compare the $30/month for unlimited usage to that of netbooks $60/month and that only gives you 5GB of data transfer per month it seems pretty cheap to me. Not to mention free at&t WIFI is included in the price. However from a Sales rep stand point I will offer netbooks over the Ipad simply cause I get paid better.

I could care less about customizability, or camera. I couldnt imagine trying to take a pic or record a video with that thing. I am actually glad it dosent have flash cause if it did it would take the battery from 10 hours down to 2 hours cause flash is such a pig. never the less, its a glorified Ipod touch, but the monthly pricing is a no brainer compared to that of regular netbooks, I just wish there ...

I have no doubt that the Ipad will offer some cool features. From a customer stand point I think its great. Its just,at&t has always told us to ask our selfs whats in it for me. I dont think there is anything it for me which sucks.

Ipad yay, or nay
Jan 29, 2010, 11:33 AM

I have mixed emotions about the Ipad. I think its a great idea, however being a RSC for at&t I don't see anything in it for me. No contract so I don't get paid on the new activation, as usual I don't get any money for selling the actual product, but thats how it is for all phones. Its only has a $30 MRC, so that means my MRC will **** the bed if I sell alot of them, ...

that was a great story, however every thing you said has nothing to do with the question asked. Congrats on being part of the 3% of the nation that dosent get good at&t coverage. This person seems to get coverage just fine, and really dosent care about your life story. They just want to know why the store required a deposit and online didnt. and the question was answered...I am sure the rep(s) that have helped you in the ...

I would have to agree with Azeron, the first dose not guarantee a win. Sprint has been advertising thier 4G network for a while. Yet at&t's 3G network is still faster then that. Seeing how at&t has the fastest 3G network, why waste the money. They are doing the right thing by waiting. When Verizon launches 4G they will advertise how they have 4G and at&t dosent...blah, blah, blah. Then when at&t launches 4G it will still be fater ...
