seven people still devoted to Windows Phone.
Re: The Google/Motorola Endgame
Exactly. It wouldn't necessarily behoove Motorola to not take the settlement if it got to that point. It would paint Motorola as the bad guy and you had better believe Apple would go to war with their patents. This is just a battle.
Oh that's right, intellectual property rights mean nothing!
How silly of me and the courts and the government to think otherwise. Thanks for reminding us, HatesBlackberrys!
Re: #6 in the nation, ragequit...
What up man.
Re: I wish
Yeah, nothing against telesales or online sales. But I'm in face to face retail, so obviuosly I want my customers to come to my store.
I still don't get why somebody would be comfortable with buying a phone anywhere but in store.
And what about exchanges? That's a close I frequently use: "Hey, worst case scenario, if you don't like the phone, you do have x number of days to bring it back and exchange it out, so you're ...
temporary numbers
That was the last closing tactic I used, and it didn't work.
It's a great tactic, especially when I instruct them to carry both phones around and directly compare and contrast them. But still, I hate using that tactic becuase it invites far more returns than the traditional buyer's remorse period close.
Cricket being sold in Target
Has anybody else heard this rumor?
What is the incentive to buy from telesales?
I personally would rather pay a bit more for the phone to be able to get it in store. I just don't like the idea of buying online.
Can you guys waive act/upgrade fees? Can you make deals on the handsets? Any incentives?

Possibly, but I'm not sure anybody could have overcome her.

Me: Hello folks, how are we doing today?
Customers: Hey, we're doing ok. You guys have T-Mobile?
M: No I sure don't. I take it that's what y'all have.
C: Yeah, and we hate it. The service is terrible at our house. We can barely get a signal.
M: Well that's too bad. Are you two in a contract with them?
C: No, our contract ended not too long ago.
M: *tells them about a plan with VZW that would actually save them money ...
it's more like a trickle you got going there
Out of curiosity, how are you measuring my intelligence?
By the way, you meant "rode," not "road."
that means...
you are wasting my time. Get out of my store.
Probably around the time
I stop giving one fourstar.
Re: GIMME A CUPCAKE!!!
Re: been gettin for about a month myself
I've been getting it for about two months. In my area, I deal with the most ridiculously die hard iZombies. I hate them sometimes, but then I love them whenever a new iPhone releases. At the end of the day, they're just another dollar bill to me.
Re: Sprint is the trailer park of the cell phone world.
What about Metro PCS and Cricket?
Are they the guy who gets out of jail and two days later is arrested for stealing a bait car?
Re: So good:
Yeah I loled at that one too.
Re: Just got my first
I've been getting those for a while now. I hate those customers.

I can't believe AT&T is going to leave a big size of their customer base out to pasture.
I can. They are a pubicly traded company. Accordingly, their investors constantly demand higher profit per share. Thus, their business model is to focus on smartphones, which result in both higher revenues and profits.
From a business standpoint, it makes sense. As a user, it is frustrating.
Clarification:
We don't carry the Captivate any more. Daughter just wanted it. My guess is she's been wanting it for a while because that phone is like a year and a half old.
*shrugs shoulders*

Thanks! :D
Re: did you....
Like I said, we don't sell accessories at my store. How I wish we did. The profit margin on accessories is huge and makes for a great little addition to my paycheck. Oh well, one can hope.
Here's a question, Skully:
What is the most money you've gotten a customer to spend on ETFs to switch carriers?
I once got a four line activation from a customer who had to pay $960 in ETFs from her old carrier.
It was excruciating trying to read all that.
Is that so? Do you not read books? Perhaps magazines? Even news articles? If you think that my post was tl;dr, I'm afraid you are starving yourself of a great wealth of knowledge.

Re: Cool story, bro.
Whoa let's make room for the internet tough guy here!
Cool story, bro.
I work as an indirect, not corporate. I've done this many times before and I've never gotten in a lick of trouble.

Re: meh..
We don't sell accessories, oddly enough.
10 times more data for $10 more
I love using that phrase, but sadly, it didn't work with these folks. Daughter was 11 at most and didn't use the phone much. I even tried the fire and brimstone tactic of huge overages, but they assured me she didn't/wouldn't use much. I even told them that her usage would change as she became more comfortable with Android, seeing as the system encourages data use with app downloads, great browsing, etc. But alas, no go. I was happy ...
Re: Artisan is pretty good.
Rats! I should have thought about selling this billion dollar business of which I have zero authority over! I suppose I am indeed just an artisan for now. :P
Deal
:)
I'll text you when I get back from lunch.
Re: I get to be district manager for a week
Haha I passed on that. I've been here long enough and taken the reigns enought times to know that the company almost NEVER promotes from within. The one manager I've worked with that got promoted was a DM for two months before he was straight canned for non performance (even though he hit target both months).
Re: Salesman level: Artisan
Is that a good thing?
Cool story, bro.
Mom and daughter walk into my store. They're looking for a replacement device for daughter until she's eligible to upgrade in August. She wants a slider with a touchscreen, and is eying the prepaids. I ask mom if any of the lines on her account are eligible for upgrade. None are.
I hear that all the time only to find out when I look up the account that there is at least one that is indeed eligible, so I ...

Rooting an EVO
I'm a bit behind the times and as a result, I'm using an EVO I bought off somebody recently.
I want to root it, but I have zero experience doing so. From what I understand, I can pretty much just go online and download the software onto my phone. I'm not asking how to do it; I'll figure that out. I'm just asking which root I should use.
What's your favorite?
