Palm Treo 700w / 700wx

Has anyone had the phone lock up after it was sitting? When phone goes idle for couple mins, the screen turns off - only way to "wake" it up is to hit one of 2 buttons (setting I prefer) so I went to use phone and no button would wake it up...the little amber light was blinking (as it alsways does) but could not get into phone.....I called my phone from land line.....the handset didnt ring......"light blinks - screens off - no one's home".......so I had to remove battery....this happen twice in 3 days......

anyone else?

My significant other is debating getting a treo 700x (p or w) on Verizon but she needs to be able to use her company email account (exchange 2003) for her own email, calendar, contacts etc as well as her bosses calendar also on exchange as she's an assistant to the CEO and needs access to his calendar as well. Is this possible on the 700x (p or w) and if so, how?

1. I go into my Text Messaging folders on my phone and see that the drafts section has some messages in there. So I would like to clear them out but everytime I go to that folder it freezes my phone and I have to do a soft reset to get my phone working again......any one have ay suggestions on how to fix this!?

2. I use comcast as my POP3 email that I can check it my phone.....one problem though....I have set the phone to check for email every 60 minutes but it never does.....does anyone know why this is happening??? or actually not happening......

I lost the cap that covers the antenna on my Treo 700. I'm wondering if the replacement antenna for Treo 650 would work for the 700? Or do you know where can I purchase the cap only (the whole replacement antenna if I have to ☹️ )?

I just talked to Verizon and they said that the Treo 700W is not capable of acquiring ringtones from GET IT NOW. They said that I could use MP3's.

My question is , How do I do that? Can I use ITUNES???

I just found something that I hadn't come across before. The samsung i730. Anyone have any comparison to this versus the treo 700w?

Also, can one access WIFI without taking the $79.99 or higher plan? I just have a $39.99 (450 minutes) plan with verizon and wonder if I'll be able to access wifi anyway without all of the bigger packages available through verizon.

is it possible to view your treo 700w landscape for certain applications? like the windows media player??

I have 700w Verizon. When I call people, they often cannot hear me. I hear them, but they can't hear me. I phone them right back, and often they hear me then. What's the problem?

On a side note, I just want to say the reviews on this website are hilarious. So many of you can't spell, create sentences, or put together one coherent thought for that matter. Amazing.

I have read a number of posts that pretty much go back to January on this topic. I am looking at purchasing a smartphone/pda. Either the 700w or the 6700. The Q does not meet my "want to have" list . I see that the 6700 can be a notebook modem right of the box and the 700w would require additional software.


1) Since it's been 5+ months since this topic was discussed can it be done with todays model and software version?

2) Can the 700w be used as a modem right of the box?

which wifi card do you guys recommend? the palm or the socket go e300?? i would like to hear your opinion.

Is there a patch or any way to get voice dialing through Blue Tooth? Even my V710 had that.

I have read that the 700w is only 240 x 240 pixels.

Most other smart phones are 240x320. Is there a noticable difference? I want a crisp display and for $500.00 it should have one.

What are your opinions on the display. I see the 700p has a better display but I don't want a palm OS. These are basically the same phones with different OS's. I don't understand why one has a better display then the other...

I have a Palm Tungsten E and a verizon phone. How hard is it to go from the palm OS to the windows os of the TREO 700w?

Hello I need tp make pauses in numbers i put in my contacts list.

for example (555)555-5555 pppppppp 1234

I can't find any help regarding this problem. This is the 3rd replacement and the problem happened again. In fact I'm on hold right now with Verizon Tech support. I can't receive any incoming calls. I've tried everything..soft reset, hard reset. Remove memory card, insert mem card. Close all programs running in the background...everything and my phone just doesn't receive any calls. Anyone ever had the same problem? Please help...I'm about ready to slam this phone against the wall into a thousand pieces. AHHHHH!

Can someone tell me why the Treo 700w is acting up. I have to do a soft reset at least 3 times a day on my phone. So far this is my 3rd replacement and still have the same problem. I even did the 1.10 update, but it is not helping. All that VZW says is that I just have to keep reseting it. BTW this is my first Treo so I am not sure if this is their normal operation ways.
