Voice Mail Icon

Okay, so my friend just gave me an Audiovox 6600 and i love it. But, she had used the phone before me, and cancelled it because she got the new 6700. However, when she switched over she didn't check all her voicemails on the 6600 so now when i turn it on it keeps saying that i have 6 unheard voicemails that aren't mine. then when i go into the voicemail it is mine not hers, but i can't seem to get rid of the alert. any ideas??? ๐Ÿคจ

Getting new phone, can I disable phone software?

I've had my XV6600 since it first came out around 2004. I am, however, going to get a new phone toward the end of this month. I would like to continue using the XV6600 as a PPC. Can I disable the phone to release the program memory? I know that I won't be able to use the modem feature but I should still be able to sync with Outlook, use my wi-fi SD card, and use my bluetooth GPS.

Question- Is it still worth it?

This is the only phone I can find (besides the Iphone) that has a 3.5 inch display! I don't have one yet and am thinking of buying one and just adding a data package to my Sprint plan so that I can use it for internet access. Do those who still use this phone for internet access have any comments for someone like me who is considering buying what is now almost a 3 year old smart phone? I know its uses internet explorer 4.0...any comments on this version? Anything else I should be aware of? Thanks.

MAIN battery showing 0% all the time

is there an internal battery that may be effecting my device from staying on??

๐Ÿ˜ข
I bought a new external battery and keep it on a charger.

I use it as a pocket pc only. the device works fine while it is plugged in once I can get it to turn on (sometimes it takes some fiddling). When I unplug it, it usually shuts off and I have a hard time getting it back on.
It reboots to the alignment screen each time it is turned off.

Any advice? ๐Ÿ‘€

How good is the voice memo feature?

I need to have a phone on which I can leave myself voice memos, such as while driving. Some of these may be up to a minute in length. The feature also needs to be easy to access, with just one or two clicks, so that I can do it quickly and easily while driving. Does this phone fit the bill? How many voice memos, total, can I have on there at any one time? Is there a limit on the length? Any assistance y'all can give is greatly appreciated.

cheers,

Ben

problem with Audiovox PPC-6600 Pocket PC

OKAY PLEASE IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME I WOULD BE OH SO GREATFULL ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜ ๐Ÿ˜
On my phone I have videos....I can put them on my computer but the do not work- they wont work in any application.
I then uploaded one video on the internet and it only accepted a part of it as it is too long- but the other problem is there was no sound when I did that.
Is there a specific thing I should change or do for my videos to work???
If any replies are sent I'd really appreciate it I would also apreciate to have it via email as that would be easier

New ROM version 2.07 for VZW

INFO IN THIS THREAD ON PDAPHONEHOME.

http://www.pdaphonehome.com/forums/showthread.php?t= ... »

Did the upgrade last night. Phone seems to work better. On difference I noticed right off the bat is that when you hit the antenna/signal icon on the top of the screen, the delay in getting the window with the option to turn on flight mode is GONE. You also get Windows Media Player 10.

Others have noticed Bluetooth working better too.

More in depth review of the XV6600 plus ROM update

Unfortuantely, I'm not allowed to post any additional info regarding this phone, but I have owned it for over a year now, and I stand by it 100 percent. Also, I did a much more in depth product review on the XV6600 on cnet under the name nerdydaddy if anyone is interested in more help regarding this phone and additional accessories, plus I also included the link for the latest ROM upgrade, which removes cheif complaints by people regarding terrible ringer volume, poor Bluetooth quality, and most of all, you gain the much sought after Windows Media Player 10 Mobile, all for free. There are a few other small noteworthy additions with the upgrade, like finally seperating the connectivity and phone indicators, but other than that they are just s...

Camera Driver for thrid party application use

I have the PPC 6600 with Camera, I use an application from a software company called ESRI. Their mobile ArcPad 7 GIS software can use a camera for data collection but the driver needs to enabled for use with the windows mobile camera API. here is an excerpt from a forum post from the software vendor for requirements.. Any ideas about the camera programming for the ppc6600?

With ArcPad and camera support, our preference is to support standard camera drivers, and not have to develop and maintain numerous proprietary camera drivers.

On the PC, the only standard camera driver is the Windows Multimedia API (MCI). As I mentioned in my previous post, unfortunately few cameras on the PC clearly state which driver is used. Consequently, the...

The button configuration screen has 9 buttons defined with button #9 assigned to "Messagings" (not Messaging), but according to the Quick Reference, there are only 8 harware buttons.

Any idea what button #9 is?
