Has anyone seen or heard of an extended battery to be released? In my opinion the battery life sucks, and I'd rather not buy another standard battery...

Ditto. Id like to know too. I dont care if the ext. batts make my pda look like a double deck of used UNO cards. Im getting a good 1hr and a few minutes listening to shoutcast.com radio when not plugged in 😢

The thing is taking out the battery clears the pda main memory. THen that would mean Id have to go back to Active Sync and re-install everything. Or am i missing something?

YOU WILL NOT ERASE ANYTHING JUST BY REMOVING THE BATTERY THE PHONE HAS A SECOND INTERANAL BAT. TO COVER YOU IN THE CASE OF THE BATT COMING OFF THE PHONE OR IF THE BATT IS DEAD. IF YOU LOOK UNDER SETTING, SYSTEMS, POWER IS SHOWS TWO POWER SUPPIES, BUT IF BOTH IS DEAD THEN YOU WILL LOSE ALL YOU DATA, YOU COULD ALSO MAKE SYNCING ON HAPPEN WHEN YOU TELL THE PHONE TO INSTEAD OF EVERY 15 MIN LIKE IS WILL DO IF YOU DISABLE THE CONNECTION(JUST HOLD DOWN THE END BUTTON TILL THE CONNECTION IS BROKEN

Ok, so I did the unimagineable and e-mailed Audiovox. A week later I got a reply, "Unfortunately, we do not have an extended battery for the PPC6600, and it has not been discussed for further development. However, we will pass this email onto our engineering team for consideration. " So if they do release it, it will be a cold day in hell...

There was a post about a 3rd party offering several extended batteries. One that was in development was like a monster 3000mh

Actually a friend of mine just got this third party battery, it's about 2200 mah, and it made a big difference in run time.

Has anyone purchased one of these batteries?.. I'm pretty sick of my phone dying on me by seven pm... ESPECIALLY when my work day doesn't end until around ten pm... I'm interested but would like to hear what the ones who have bought it thought first... The $124.00 looks like the size of the phone itself, and the $79.99 doesn't look too bad. But if the performance is worth it, then oh well.. Let me know, DL.... darionlear@hotmail.com

Yes, I have bought the extended battery and am really glad that I did. I was sick of plugging mine into the car jack or wall everywhere I went for extended periods.

What do you want to know about it?

Here's another battery source:

24oo mAH for $90 in an 8mm thick package. (Standard battery is 5.2mm thick.) These people look like they really know what they're doing and I'm planning to get one.

Has anybody else bought this particular battery? If so, can you please tell us how it worked out?
