USCC service

Just would like to know the good and the bad as far as service is for USCC? I have reviewed their website and have been reading this site phonescoop.com about the service.

Reason why I am asking is there is a good possibility that I may be transfered to the Tulsa, OK area with my job within the next 9 months or less.

I am currently with Alltel and enjoy the service that is provided through them.
I would like to know the following if possible, If I were to buy the Nokia 6255i through Alltel, could I transfer the phone over to USCC? When I say transfer is I would currently have the phone and take it into a USCC store and have the rep set up the phone on their network or would I have to buy that same phone or a phone that USCC provides?...

Question about profiles...

I've never used a Nokia phone before, but I'm considering getting this one with my new phone plan. I was wondering if anyone could tell me whether or not a saved profile remains activated even after the phone is shut off. In other words, if I have my ringer off, and all other sound functions muted, will the phone make any noise if I turn it off then back on again? Thank you.

Any USCC Updates

Does anyone have any solid information as to when this phone is going to be relased for USCC? I haven't heard any news about it in a while. 😕

Anyone think this phone will be offered by Verizon?

I really want to switch to Verizon from Sprint this July when my contract is up, and I would love to get this phone, but I don't want the hassle of a phone that is not supported by Verizon.

File Types?

Ok guys I have had this 6255i for about two months now, and I have to say I absolutely love it. I am going to be putting a MMC in my phone soon and wanted to know a few things:

What kind of file's are the games?
What kind of file's are the video?

Obviously the music is MP3 and AAC so that is a no brainer. I would like to put a few games on the phone so I would really love to know what files to look for, and where I can find them.

OK Button is Horrible

I think the phone is funny looking, but that's okay. I played with one just now and the worst thing button wise is the select/ok button in the middle of the arrows. You have to use the tip of your finger/thumb to press it without hitting arrows. And no, I don't have really big fingers either.

I have no problem with my LG VX4400's OK button, this one I do. This may be one of the biggest things keeping me from wanting this phone.

Unlock codes for different phones

First and foremost I am JUST submitting this link that I had found and reviewed, which means that all I did was read the instructions and looked at various links on the website and felt this may help some people. ** This is a French site ** nothing against the French, also if your phone is listed and you do attempt to unlock your phone and it does not work - Don't BLAME me!

I am listing this site because Nokia is a very popular brand worldwide -- so most of the phones that are listed may be European models although I did see a few older US versions.

(Remember don't blame me if your model is not listed or you attempted to unlock the phone and it does not work)!

On the lighter side I again called Nokia and...

SPRINTPCS... Yes or No???

😉
The phone looks hot and I want to try it out with my service (sprint). So any definite answers...Also it says something about BREW on the info on the phone, but I thought Verizon uses Brew and Sprint uses Java.

Expandable Memory: Life beyond 128mb?

Hey guys,
I've been keeping up with the discussion for awhile, but haven't heard any mention of this (and perhaps I missed it). According to Nokia's Tech Support Group, this phone has only been tested for use on MMC cards up to 128mb. Has anyone used anything greater than that? I believe you can get cards up to 2mb, but the tech@Nokia didn't really know if the phone would even recognize anything past the first 128mb of the card 🙄 Any info would be appreciated, as I *still* have yet to get a working model of this here at work.

Went back to the Alltel Store today and...

The rep that I deal with was back from vacation and she told me that the Nokia rep was at their store here in Charlotte, NC today 5/18/05.

The Nokia rep told her that Alltel will be getting the Nok 6255i soon!! Beyond that no dates were told, but I really think she may know something because she told me to wait a little longer, don't cave in and buy the Moto V 710 @ $249 / 2 yr contract that the Nokia 6255i will be cheaper than the Moto V 710 on a 2 yr contract.

Wish I could say more but that is all I've got.

This was posted on the Cell phone companies forum on this site

I was reading the carriers forum listed within this site and came across this message. If this is true then Alltel is getting the Nok 6255i around the 21st of May -- Next Saturday!

I did update some of the stats according to what I saw at the store and what is on the website for Alltel.com
