bluetooth suggestions?

Hi..I have this phone and am ready to buy a bluetooth headset. With so many on the market, can anyone make any recommendations based on having this phone and using a certain headset. I've always heard horror stories about paring issues between certain phones and certain headsets, so I am trying to avoid that. Thanks in advance.

Alright, you guys win -- 6255i

I've decided that my new phone is gonna be a Nokia 6255i. Yes, after bashing it for having no keypad or backlight lighting options, it's still the best alternative out there. The LG's all disqualify themselves with their dumb-azz basket-full of side buttons. It was therapeutic reading all the bashes on why I'm so ignorant as to let no lighting options bother me. So I got to thinking -- maybe I'm placing too much emphasis on this. So, in summation, than you all for pointing out what an ignorant, moronic, self-centered, ACLU-loving, womanizing, loser I am!!!!! I have seen the light !! ( just not the backlight 😢 ) Now, if only U.S. Cellular will stop dragging their feet and actually release this phone before I hafta move into an old...

Enough already about Verizon. Let's talk about a REAL carrier.....

....... Like U.S. Cellular.

File format problem

Hey everyone,

I bought a memory card for my 6255i and it was working fine until I stuck it in the mmc reader of my computer and put some mp3s on it and after that a bunch of files started showing up as the wrong format. Like mp3s would show up as a gif. file and some pictures would show up as file types I'm not even familiar with. At first I thought it was the memory card but it affected the whole phone, some wallpapers that are on the actual phone not memory card are showing up as bad file types also. I have no idea how to fix it. Someone please help!
TIA,
kevin

TV on 6255i

Use your favorite PVR program to record show to AVI or MPEG. Get Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0 from their website and convert the file. Dump to phone and watch any time. An hour uses about 30MB so a 256MB card'll hold about 8 hours. Picture isn't that bad considering screen size.

Java apps w/Alltel

Has anyone been able to load a Java app using PC Suite to an Alltel 6255i? I keep getting "operation failed". I called Nokia and they seem to think (as I suspected) that Alltel has this locked out. I called Alltel and they claim to know nothing about any lockout but said they'd investigate. I'm thinking that they want sell you thier Axcess apps only.
When my MMC comes in I'll try dumping apps to it and see if the phone will run them from the card.

Nokia Rep stopped by - CONCRETE ANSWERS about Verizon

Nokia rep stopped by yesterday with a non-functioning mock-up of this phone, along with some information.

THE FACTS (per the rep):

- This phone will be released by the end of July - probably within the next two weeks.

- This phone will NOT BE SOLD in Verizon coporate stores - ONLY third party retailers like Best Buy, RadioShack, etc.

- This phone will feature UNRESTRICTED BLUETOOTH. Yes, you read that correctly. Bluetooth has not been crippled on this phone. At all.

- This phone WILL NOT have an MP3 player. The rep explained Verizon requested the MP3 player be removed. Bummer eh?

- This phone is being sold into verizon at ~$200 a phone. Considering Verizon's rebates for new customers, this phone will probably be very ...

Trouble finding and viewing web pages

I'm having problems finding/viewing web pages on my Nokia 6255 (Alltel). Whenever I search for a page on Google (using Mobile Web search or regular searching), I get this message: "The requested page cannot be displayed." I'm not doing complicated searches. Even something as basic as "sports" gives me the same non-response. The only web pages I've been able to view on my 6255 are ones that I've guessed the url for or found the wap url using the web on my PC (ESPN, ABCNews, and Yahoo are the only three I can get!) There must be an easier way. Anybody know what it is? (BTW, I called Alltel tech support and they were no help.)

Verizon + 6255i... What works?

I know some of you use this combination... what works? what doesn't?

Most important to me: Can you use nationalaccess for internet access?

beyond that: I realize that vzw's getitnow crapware isn't there, so you can't use it, but I could care less. Obviously bluetooth works flawlessly, what about direct cable connections and infrared? Picture and sms messaging?

Thanks!
