How to download contact numbers from the phone?

I would like to download the phone numbers that are programmed into my phone's memory, but I am unsure how to proceed. When I purchased the phone, it did not come with a data cable, and the instruction manual does not describe this operation.
How should I proceed?
Thank you,
Chris

Please help me! My phone freezes up...

I was told by the Alltel serviceman to come to this site to get help for my Alltel LG phone. When I turn it on, it freezes up during the introductory panel, not letting me even get to the welcome screen.
I have no idea what to do!
If you have any programming suggestions, I would definitely welcome advice. Thanks.

Call Screening?

How do you enable it? Does it depend on the carrier? I'm under Verizon.

PC software

Can anyone recommend some phone management software that actually works with the VX3200

I am NOT a computer idiot, but trying to connect this phone to the PC is making me into one.

I got the cable on-line -- actually I've got two cables because the first company advertised the USB-to-Serial cable but shipped a straight USB cable, so I had to get another cable, this one was really is the USB-to-Serial cable.

Both cables work somewhat: the straight USB cable charges the phone battery and causes the PC to see the phone (but it sees it as an unrecognized USB device); the USB-to-Serial cable lets some software connect to the phone, but it happens to be the least useful software.

I have the current version of bitpim but it can't find t...

If your thinking about urchasing this phone with Metro PCS read this..

Ok i use to have the LG VX 3200 and it seems like a nice phone. But i was having problems with the signal on the phone for 2 months so just yesterday i got the Nokia 2116i and i told the customer service rep my problem and he explained to me that LG phones get lower reception than the Nokia and Motorola phones so that means more dropped calls.I havent had a dropped call with the nokia since i purcahsed it.Just a little heads up for people wanting to purchase this phone.

Voice echo problem?

Although LG generally tends to mark high on reception and clarity, I've read in numerous places that LG phones have been known to produce an echo during conversations. One of the reviewers for this particular model also mentions it, so I'm wondering...How common is the problem for you other VX3200 owners? Does it echo all the time? Only occasionally? Under what conditions (if you can tell)?

How would you characterize the echo, and to what extent does it affect your conversations?

I'm trying to choose between this phone and Samsung's a650. I need a reliable phone that, above all, has good reception and voice clarity, minimal dropped calls/breakup, and an easy-to-use interface. Any opinions, recommendations, or warnings?

(I'm in the ...

Voice Dial Button?

Does anyone know what button you push for the voice dialing? If you go Menu --> Settings --> Voice Services --> Voice Dial Prompt it will give you three options: Key press, Flip open, & Disable. Flip open sets it so when ever you open your phone it will ask you to say the name of the person to call. If you set it to Key press, you then have to push a button to get the phone to ask you to say the name, but I can't for the life of me figure out what button to push. I went through all the button options I could think of, and read the manual cover-to-cover, all with no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

You can use voice memos as ring tones!

I found out how to use voice memos as ring tones on the VX3200. This means you can record a voice memo of anything (song clip, movie quote, barking dog, whatever) and set it as your ring tone.

Steps:
Record a voice memo (hold down the right rocker key). For a good ring tone the memo must be quite loud; if you're recording from a stereo, hold it right in front of the speaker. It'll likely take several tries to get exactly the clip and volume you want.

Go to Voice Memo (Menu, 5, 3), use the up/down rocker keys to select the memo you just recorded, and go to Option, 3 (Set As). Select Caller ID to use the memo as the ringtone for all calls. (Well, most calls.)

Check your work: go to Ringers/Caller ID (Menu, 1, 1, 1) and the new ringt...

Brew Update

😁 On the CellularONE/Western Wireless network, the LG 3200 now supports 56 applications, including Games, Brew, Custom Ring tones, and Wireless ring tones. Also, you can buy changeable faceplates for it, however; I do recommend that you have someone who knows what they are doing change it for you. there is tape on the inside of the clam cover and many times the speaker will stick and if you pull that off, you are in big trouble. 😢 Just a heads up for those of you thinking about doing it yourself.
