Release Date

I just checked Motorola's website and I have one question and one statement. The question: The website says it will have a speaker phone, and European V810 has one, why wouldnt the USA version? Statement: The Motorola website says SECOND QUARTER!!! If they say second, then I bet it will take Verizon's dumb ass a little longer than that 👿 . Here is the link.

Pushed back

Just got off the phone with moto and they said the date is pushed back to the second half of 2004. I think its about time moto gets their act together and not release phones a year over the orginal release date. While I was typing this i was talking to moto and they JUST said the v710 is going to be released in the next few days....I think the guy was on crack. Who knows. BUt the v810 is pushed back to the second half.

Moto Commercial

I was watching E! today about grammy gifts and there was a moto commercial that was showing their upcoming products. They had a couple of shots of the V810...I hope this is a sign of hope!! I think we will be seeing this phone in march. Anyone else see the commercial I am talking about???

Will this phone be released?

I have been reading alot about this phone and others since my V60 is over 2 years old now.

It seams to me that this phone may never be released. From some of the things i have read here and in Howard forums the V710 may be out in the summer which would mean the V810 would only have a few months to sell. Do you guys think with all the problems Moto and Verizon may just scrap this 1 and try and push the V710 up some.

I mean if its going to be about 4-5 months different we all should just wait for the V710 with bluetooth

Another Delay???

👿 I was at Verizon the other day...and the rep I usually deal with said that he heard the V810 was delay until second quarter because Verizon had some changes requested before they would release it. He is not 100% sure, but this is the buzz going around the store...and everyone is pissed!!! I don't know about everyone else...but I am so damn sick of waiting for this stupid phone!!! by the time it comes out it's not even gonna be cool anymore.

WHY????

I want the V810, so please don't get me wrong, but why are all the nicer new phones only GSM? Even Motorola's best phones are now GSM, w/out a CDMA brother/sister phone. Why is this? The V600 is clearly Motorola's flagship phone, or it will be, but for the 32 million people in the US with Verizon we are stuck waiting for the V810, or buying an LG. I have nothing against LG, but it ain't a Motorola. This is more of me venting than anything else, but I still don't get what is so hard about making a GSM phone also available in CDMA!!! 👿

V810 keeps getting delayed :(

I've been waiting to buy a cam phone for so long.

Verizon and Motorola keep delaying the release of V810 and thats so annoying cuz its supposed to be 25% lighter and smaller than other similiar phone from Samsung & Audiovox. Whats more annoying is that no cell phone manufacturer seems to be doing much R&D for CDMA phones.

On 2/13/04, in a email to me, a Motorola rep said that the V810 will be availble in March 04. And I got another email today (2/20/04) in which another Motorola rep said that the V810 will be out in the 2nd half of 2004.

Below are excerpts from emails from Motorola reps abouts the V810:

Sheep in Wolf's Clothing

I dunno about anyone else...but this phone looks suspiciously like the t720 series with nothing but a new paint job. I'm wary.

RANDOM AMAZING PHONE BY NEC

THis phone has anything anyone could possibly want in a phone, and more. It comes with a TV tuner too, so you can watch TV, like you need that 😉 This is a Vodafone site, so I am guessing there is no possibility of it coming out in the US, and a slim possibility of it working on Verizon, but other GSM networks can use it, if the phone is unlocked. Check it out.

*BEYOND* the v810...

So I know that we still have yet to see the v810. But just in case you're interested, just yesterday the FCC granted approval of the NEXT Verizon cell phone from Motorola.

Looks pretty damn cool to me; By the looks of it, I assume that it is the CDMA verson of the v600, which I know many of us knew was coming. Notice the shape and structure of the phone. It also looks like a spin-off of the v880 that is currently in China. Note that it has camera with flash, and a COLOR external caller ID, which if it is like the v880, will show you the picture of who is calling on the outside.

verizon and the v810

I just called verizon and inquired about the v810 again. And this time the woman said she had no info about the phone or when it would come out. It seems as if each time you call someone else tells you somthing differently, so thier opinions dont matter. This woman also had no clue that the samsung a610 came out already. She actually told me to check out phone scoop. But if you think about it logically, 1st quarter for verizon ends on March 31. The phone is supposed to be out in the 1st quarter so it has to be sometime next month. UNless, the period ends on April 30, which is possible, because someone also told me that so i dont know... 😁
