Text ringer not audible when in landscape
Just got off the phone with verizon wireless tech support. I have been having issues with the audible tone for texts (mms and sms), emails, or bbm's, not going off when the phone switches to or is in landscape mode. The tech guy i spoke with states they are aware of the problem as a known issue.
Has anyone else has this same issue? Seems strange that the audible alert for texts, emails, and bbm's, will go off when in portrait mode, however not in landscape. The call ringer works in both landscape and portriat.
Anyone have any recommendations or fixes before I mail this thing back? Overall I like the phone, but I need the alert to go off if the phone is in my pocket. Cant be looking for the led indicator every 5 mins.

storm supports multi touch
you can use 2 fingers to highlight multiple messages, so the phone supports multi touch like they originaly said it would.
now we just need some cool apps to use the multi touch and the accelerometer

Themes
Does anyone know how to change the theme from the stupid verizon check mark? I spoke with the "highest" level tech at verizon and they said changing the theme is not an option yet, which to me seems hard to believe since you can change the wallpaper or background on even the most basic phones. I've even seen various clips in forums, you tube, etc. with various themes. Can anyone help?

Has anyone been able to connect at 3G speed on the storm? If so what city? I am in NYC and have not been able to which I am very surprised about. Also can this phone load websites to look like desktop browsing and not the mobile page? I've tried sites like espn, cnn, nytimes and others, and I get the mobile site for all. Any feedback is appreciated. thanks.

Nickel and Diming me to death.
Let me start out saying I am really happy with my decision with switching networks(AT&T to Verizon). I am a little disturbed by the fact that Blackberry charges for everything. A lot of stuff on my iPhone was free. Like having the full picture screen set as caller ID. I have to pay a third party for a program to allow for this. This seems like a feature that should be built into the caller ID actions on the phone. I understand this is a new phone After the iPhone all other phones will be measured against it. Here is a question for you guys before you start flaming me. If the iPhone was on Verizon's network would you have even bought this phone. đ

In summary....game over for Apple. Look, this phone is scooting now! What else do you want it to do? Cook dinner?
Seriously, the new software is amazing! It just makes everything that was already good, better.
Guess what? It will only get better from here. Why eary adapters quit so early is amazing to me.
Look at the review scores....Apple fanboys are doing their best to keep the score down....is not working.

Contact List
Does anyone know if you are somehow able to transfer a contact list from your e-mail, per say in an excel spreadsheet format into your contact list.
For example, I previously had a Moto Rzr2 and using backup assistant, was able to save my contact info as an excel file. I then e-mailed the file to my phone utilizing an attachment. Now if only I would be able to use that excel file as the contact list would be great.

My feedback..some good, some bad but overall HAPPY
Here's my feedback on the storm. I've had the phone since 5 DEC 08 and have mixed feelings about it. For starters, when I received the phone, it was shipped with the old software and I downloaded it and installed the update with no problems.
On the second day on ownership, I inserted the phone into the official blackberry carrying case, and when I went to remove the phone, the power key and back buttons ripped off. I contacted customer service regarding the problem and they instructed me to the nearest corporate store for them to fix it or order a replacement. Both in store and over the phone customer service was great and I got my NEW replacement phone yesterday.... đ

So not happy with this phone
I was so excited to get this new phone and now all I want to do is throw it against the wall. I'm going to give it a few more days just to make sure carnage isn't the answer.

The touch screen is TERRIBLE! It's almost impossible to hit just one key on a menu or keyboard. I've tried different keyboards, landscape, portrait etc. and each one will not register the key I want it to. I can't even get through the setup process because the keys won't register correctly. Signal Strength
I have seen on other post about changing the signal strength bars to show up in numeric form. Can anyone explain how this is done? I tried all sorts of ways and cant get it to work.

BlackBerry Storm Charging Problems
I've had this phone for 2 weeks & really like. But last night i plugged in the charger & had the phone off, at 11:00 PM, In the morning at 8:00 AM, The Charge lite was still going on & off like it wasn't fully charged. What causes this, & how can i correct this? THANKS...

Typing?
Sometimes when I type the cursor jumps all over. So I started to type slow to make sure I'm not touching the screen above the keypad and it still happens. Is this a glitch or am I just lame. I do have the latest software. Very frustrating. âšī¸

Are there any other browsers available?
I do a lot of reading/surfing on my current phone and from some of the reviwes I've seen, the Storm's web browser isnt all that great... like, it wont "fit to screen" when you zoom in.
Does anyone if they fixes this with the latest update released or are there any other browsers that would work with the Storm?
I've never had a BB before and I currently use Opera Mini on my Windows Mobile 6 phone.
Quickly looking over Operas website, they don't seem to support BB on their browsers.

While the browser that the phone comes equipped with is decent, does anyone know if firefox mobile or opera are better? Or if there are any other options that may be better?
