4 Gig SD Micro not recognized on PC or Samsung Pocket PC

Bought a 4 gig today at Best Buy and my Computer doesn't recognize it nor does the phone. Did I just get a bad one or is there some trick to recognize 4 gig micro? It came with the SD sleeve to put into the PC...the sleeve works fine. Tried it with a 2 gig which also works with the phone.

Help Needed with Broadband connection

I just got this phone about a week ago and I cannot figure out a way to make this phone stay connected online.

When I try to use Wireless Sync feature, it fails because it does not have connection. So I have open up the browser and get connected, then do Wireless Sync.

Everytime I open the IE, it dials #777 and while I am browsing, it tries to connect again because the connection got dropped.

Does anyone know what setting changes I need to do so the phone stays connected so I don't have to do all the work before I can sync my phone using wireless Sync?

Thanks.

Why is the mail HEADER so BIG? Can this be adjusted?

HI there,

I just got my i760 today after a long period of indecisiveness. I am trying to "get comfortable" with it coming from years of using Treo (Windows Mobile). One thing I noticed that I'm having a hard time with is the EMAIL MESSAGE HEADER area is SO BIG compared with the rest of the message. Why is that? And how can it be adjusted? Does anyone else feel it's too BIG too?

I know I can change the TEXT size in the Screen settings but that changes everything on the phone. Not what I want to do -- just that one particular area. The MAIL HEADER. Anyone please? If there's a registry hack for this, could someone please shed some light on how to go about it? I'm very new with hacks, tweaks, etc.

On another note, it seems the desktop c...

Battery Life on i760 vs. i730

How's the battery life on the new i760? I own the i730 and if anyone else has owned this phone they know that this is it's worst feature. Can someone who owns the i760 please provide some info on this? Did Samsung improve on this with the? I would burn through two batteries a day with the 730 so I would have to take an extra battery with me all the time AND a charger so that I would always have a full battery on standby! This was the only annoying thing about the 730. Please tell me it's better!

Question re wifi experience

To anyone that has this phone: When you open a web page with wifi (vs EVDO), does it open at computer speed, or is the wifi web experience much slower, due to some other limitating factor like processor speed, RAM etc? I'm asking because if being online w/wifi isn't substantially faster that with the cell radio, I'd pass on the i760 and get the upcoming (and smaller) HTC 5800. I currently have a black Q and the web experience is glacial.

Upgrade

I have been using a Motorola Q for over a year and am looking to upgrade to either this phone, the XV6800 or the SMT 5800 (if the HTCs ever come out). I use Activesync through a hosted exchange server with 1and1.com to synchronize my email, contacts and calendar. I use PDANet to tether to my laptop and have QCaps to make the keyboard more blackberry friendly. I like Windows Mobile and have been very happy with my Q. I am looking for some honest opinions from someone that is using a similar setup as to how they like this phone. I saw this phone today at the Verizon store and it looked nice. Some of the buttons appear to be in some questionable places and the reviews seem to be pretty mixed. I may still wait for the XV6800 because it ma...

Streaming Media on i760

Does anyone out there know if you can watch YouTube, ESPN videos, etc on the 760? If not, is there a software download to make it happen?

Can't figure out voice commands

I can't for the life of me how to use the voice commands with my Motorola H700 Bluetooth.. anyone know? Or even without the bluetooth. Trying to make calls is a bit cumbersome and I can't figure out how to call people without manually entering the phone number or using the start-contacts function. Kinda hard to do when driving.

Any ideas? I am trying to determine whether I want to keep this or not. I like the call clarity, and speakerphone is great. But I need some better way to make phone calls...

Thanks.

Any word on QNC?

I heard people are working on a hack to allow Quick2Net to be used on the i760 like on the i730.

Any word on that yet?

Seriously

Would you rather pay 399 plus a two year contract for the i760 or the iphone?

The iphone o/s seems far more stable than the i760.

Disabling Data for internet?

Im typing this from my i760 🙂 Sweet phone/PDA. I did not sign up for the data plan, I opted for per KB only. How do I disable the data connection so it does not dial in for broadband only and not all data processes? (ie MMS, e-mail, etc.)

Thanks in advancw for any info.

Received phone today...charging question and opinion...

OK,

I got the phone today...came from a Treo 700WX. Very pleased with the screen resolution. Much better. Speed is fine. Can I charge it with a USB charger??? It doesn't seem to charge when hooked up to the PC.

Getting used to it and liking it so far.

For ex Treo users or anyone who would like more button control.

I switched from the Treo 700wx. The biggest adjustment was not having everything available and accessible with one hand. The Palm Treo is truly a palm device. The i760 is not. It took some time getting used to the button placement and finding ways to make them easier to access. I found this program that has helped a great deal. I've only been using it for half a day, but if it works as I expect, it should be a big help.

Ram and Memory

according to Verizon's website it's Memory: 64MB RAM/128MB Flash

But in the phone memory details it shows 64 and 58...

Is the Flash something different?

Thanks,

So I had the chance to hold the mock phone at a VZW store: Does the phone dig into your face?

I noticed pretending to talk it seems like because the corners are not smoothly rounded like my current xv6700 that it could be uncomfortable and dig into your face.

Anyone else notice this?

On another subject the main reason I want that phone is the external dialpad, otherwise I would get the 6800, anyone have a chance to compare?

i760 and MS Direct Push

I am really looking into this phone as a replacement to my "feature rich" (read bug rich) Treo 650. My company is looking to force everyone to AT&T but I like the VZW's network and don't want to carry 2 phones. My boss wants me to get a blackberry so I can get real time email pushes. Has anyone had a chance to try out MS Direct Push with this phone?
