Can't figure out voice commands

Viksar

I can't for the life of me how to use the voice commands with my Motorola H700 Bluetooth.. anyone know? Or even without the bluetooth. Trying to make calls is a bit cumbersome and I can't figure out how to call people without manually entering the phone number or using the start-contacts function. Kinda hard to do when driving.

Any ideas? I am trying to determine whether I want to keep this or not. I like the call clarity, and speakerphone is great. But I need some better way to make phone calls...

Thanks.

Top button on the right side of the phone- hold it in until a microphone icon appears in the top menu bar (maybe a second). The say "Call ...." when the phone asks to confirm either give it a yes or no.

I have a similar issue. I can get the Voice Command to work on the phone itself. But I cant get it to work on my Plantronics Discovery 510 headset. I press the button and hear a beep, but no command prompts.

Any idea???

By default it should be enabled, but check the setting and make sure it's enabled. Mine works fine.

I have the same headset. You have to push the button and hold it for about two seconds. You should then hear a goofy kind of low-beep, then beep-beep-beep from the headset. The phone then beeps at you **IF** you have your volume set at a certain level, and at that point is when you say the command.

You can also look at the phone to see a little microphone icon pop up when it is listening, and the "Messaging" in the lower left corner turns to Notification with a message that it is listening if you are fast enough to hit it.

One thing I cannot get it to do is to call a phone number if I just say the number and there is no corresponding contact.

I had the same problem- but figured it out this way:

1) when i want to call a contact, i say call first name, last name, type of number (home, mobile, etc)
2) when i want to call a number, i say dial and the number

on both i then have to say "yes" when either prompted or i see it on the screen

it does appear that the phone has learned my voice as the function works great now after a couple of weeks.

Thank you for that explanation.

On my E815, I would say "Call" and the name or number. I'll bet if I took the time to read the manual, I would know hat you pointed out...that I need to say "Dial" to go to a number directly.

Thank you!
