On picking up a phone from Asia

Hey guys, my cell's been acting all sorts of weird since a week ago and I finally put it out of its misery by selling to a friend who works at a local company called P4C Global. Anyways, we were talking about my future winter vacation back to Asia and he suggested that I could pick up a phone there since they're cheaper and slightly more advanced. I'm on T-mobile, so I was wondering what kind of a phone would fit my needs of voice and text. I mean, is there I should look for, like a SIM card or something?

Roaming overseas

I have a Blackberry Bold 9650 and was thinking of purchasing a prepaid local SIM card when I travel to Israel. I found out today that neither AT&T nor T-Mobile will allow the transmission of data on their prepaid SIM cards for foreigners traveling to the U.S. That got me wondering whether it would be the same with regard to foreign cellphone service providers. If so, then I can think of only two practical choices if I want to take advantage of inexpensive phone calls while overseas but still want to receive My data. These two choices are:

1. Purchase a cheap unlocked GSM phone to use for phonecalls where I install a local SIM card and sign up for the Verizon international roaming package to receive my data on my Blackberry utilizing my Ve...

Dell Venue Android in Europe

Hello to everyone

I am considering buying the Dell Venue Android phone from Dell US site, and it's giving me the option to choose from "3G-Optimized for PCS networks (AT&T, etc)" and "3G-Optimized for AWS networks (T-Mobile, etc)". The problem is that I would be using it in Europe, with European SIM cards. The phone is unlocked, so no problems there. I just want to ask which version is better suited for European 3G networks, some say neither, some say either...

Could somebody here shed some light into this? It would be much appreciated 🙂

Thank you

Samsung t139 in Europe

Can I take this phone to Europe, get a prepaid SIM card in France, and use it there? It's GSM 850/1900. Do I need to take it to a T-Mobile store here in the US and have it "unlocked"? Will I be charged a roaming fee?

The Netbook of Honeycomb tablets

I have used apple products I do not think their design philosophy is particularly effective or attractive. netbook Having used the ipad I was immediately struck with two words Fisher Price...the limited nature of the OS and the @ss backwards way apple makes you work (I'm sorry but having to go to the top right of your computer screen to access the controls for a program rather than the program window...or having to drill down through several levels of menus to change settings on your mobile device and thereby losing whatever work you've done with an app (not to mention no widgets or ENFORCING that stupid grid pattern for your homescreens) is BAD design.
Having worked with a Xoom and really looking forwar...

Asus Eee Pad Transformer: Sells out on first day

If not for the keyboard/dock, most would have mistaken it for one of the two other new Honeycomb tablets we acquired in the last week. iPad sales numbers not withstanding, there are still quite a few who simply prefer the tactile to the abstract.netb ook It's familiar and thereby comforting, I think.

Hi i just want to know reviews about this product from anyone who has one as i was looking to buy. What are pros/ cons?
With the number of tablets coming out and the fierce competition that ha arisen within the tablet-related arena in the last couple of years, [url=http://www.laptopspark.com/products/7-in ch-Upgrated-Google-Android-22-Tablet-4GB-HDMI -3D-Game-with-Remote-Control-MID-Aluminum-She ll-laptop-26...

Hong Kong - AT&T

I am traveling to HK in a week and I was wondering if my iPhone with AT&T would work there. I was planning on keeping it shut off to avoid roaming charges but would like to find out if it would even work in case of an emergency.
Thanks a lot!

My girlfriend is in Italy and she says her calls are having trouble getting through...

My girlfriend is in Italy on vacation and she has always had trouble with calls getting through to me. She says sometimes she will call me and the phone will just keep on ringing and ringing but no one will pick up, and i dont receive the call or get notified of a missed call. Sometimes her call will get through, but she says sometimes she will call me for an hour or two before it makes it through. Some days I dont get to talk to her because she tries for hours and it doesnt work. She comes back in a week but I miss her a lot and I'd like to know why this happens? She uses a LAN line over there and calls me on my Cell. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Unlocked Sprint Samsung Moment Usable In Peru?

Ok... I got a Sprint Samsung Moment and I will be in Peru for 2 months...

I am not paying $2.49 a minute to use my Sprint Service there but would rather get Telefonico Service hooked up to my phone because from what I understand they offer CDMA service in Lima...

So it is possible to unlock my Sprint Samsung Moment to use with that phone service in Peru? Obviously I would disassociate the moment from my Sprint account first before trying to activate it with Telefonico.

How does this work, can somebody help me out with this and explain?

Got to protect my mobile..

I am somebody who keeps on losing something or the other thing every now and then. You won’t believe, I have lost around four mobile phones within a period of two years … Isn’t that pathetic? Hence, I stopped carrying mobile phones with me. But it had really become difficult for me … imagine how these gadgets have made... us their slaves! Finally, my brother, seeing my restleness bought me a mobile phone with some lost mobile tracking software installed in it. Earlier, I thought it is some dud thing. But when as usual I lost mobile again few days later, this software actually traced my mobile back easily. Now isn’t that great? I can lose my mobile all the time and get it back also … Yippee! If you want, you c...
