amusing headline of the day
OMAHA, Neb. -- Some cell phones sold this week at area a Target stores won't work in Omaha. The mistake was discovered after a KETV NewsWatch 7 viewer called 7 Can Help.
If you buy a phone in Omaha, you would presume you could use it in Omaha, but that's apparently not the case with the T-Mobile To-Go phones.
"The whole thing seems ludicrous to me," said Kathy Sole, who purchased the phone.
Sole bought a T-Mobile To-Go cell phone at the Target on Saddle Creek Road. Then she was forced to return it.
"They told me that there were no 402 area codes available. No 712 for Iowa. The only thing I had available to me for a phone number was Colorado, Kansas or farther Iowa," Sole said.
That would mean Sole wou...

Password requirements
They don't even list the requirements when you're making up a password. Sure, it says something on there, but those aren't accurate. I made one that fit their restrictions, but oops it wasn't valid because what they listed wasn't right. There are also many restrictions that aren't even mentioned, but they sure do tell you after you've typed it in. To top it off, unless you were smart enough to log in when you got to work, you've got a custome...

Motorola to compete with sub-$50 phones
In bid to firm its position as the No. 2 cell phone maker, company may sacrifice profit margins.
April 24, 2005: 2:38 PM EDT
CHICAGO (Reuters) - Motorola Inc. is changing its tactics to take on competitors by getting aggressive in the market for phones priced for $50 and less.
In a bid to gain ground against industry leader Nokia and lock in a solid No. 2 lead against Samsung Electronics, its next closest rival, the handset maker is pressuring its tight operating profit margins to win market share.

New York Post - cell phone burns up house
--------------------------------------------- --
April 26, 2005 -- Ring up another cellphone danger.
A cellphone charger caught fire and cost a Dutchess County family their home and everything in it, local officials said yesterday.
The charger was not in use — but it was plugged in when it became so hot that it short-circuited on Saturday in a bedroom of the Wingdale home of Michael and Connie Hansen and their son, Mikey.
Connie was relaxing in another room when her son ran in to say the bed was on fire.
She dumped a bucket of water on the flames, which continued to spread quickly.
Mother and son ran out of the house and frantically called 911.
But in a matter of minutes everything was g...

3) a customer sucks down a cig as fast as they can between their car and your front door, then exhales as they are walking in and breathes right in your face.
4) when they are talking to you right after they ate a crap sandwich for lunch?

Cingular Agent Employees/Owners
I am a Cingular agent employee and wanted to do some research into commissions acquired by individual agents. I was wondering if an owner or well-informed employee could break down what the agent store gets on commission for the following:
2 year new line activation
1 year new line activation
2 year line upgrade
1 year line upgrade
Exception upgrade: 2 year contract at the 1 year handset price.
Also, if you could explain the phone pricing. For instance, an agent buys a phone at $300 but sells it for $99 with a 2 year. Does the agent get reimbursed for $201 on the phone?
