iPhone icon

The past few days, there has been an icon on my phone that I don't know what it means. It's in the top right corner of the phone. It is a picture of a lock with a circle around it, and an arrow head at the end of the circle. Does anyone know what this means? I can't find it in the user manual or online. I've checked all of the password and lock options in the menu and they are all turned off. Thanks for any help provided.

Zune software question for new windows phones.

Does anybody know if the zune software on the new windows phones allows you to save the music to your sd card/phone memory? It seems like the most logical thing to do, but I wouldn't be surprised if they used some kind of pandora style constant data connection required method of listening to zune music. Thanks.

Signal Question??????

I CURRENTLY have verizon, and get about 1 bar at work, and 1 bar at home.

My friend has AT&T, has the SAME signal, one bar where I work, and 1 bar at my house.

I don't know how to exactly ask this...but is the at&t one bar going to be better than the verizon one bar.

VZW = samsung fascinate

At&t = IPHONE 3GS

GSM vs. CDMA

I want to clarify on a few things

GSM can refer to 2 things

1. Global System for Mobile Communications - a specific communcation standard
2. Any standard adoped by the GSM foundation as the "global standard for mobile communications" including GSM, GRPS, EDGE, UMTS, HSPA, HUSPA, HUSPA+ , LTE and LTE Advanced

CDMA can refer to 3 things

1. Code Division Multiple Access - a channel access method imployed in many different broadcast technologies, including GSM standards UMTS, HSPA, HUSPA and HUSPA+
2. IS-95 or CDMAone a specific communication standard developed by Qualcom, commonly refered to as "CDMA" because it was the first standard to use the CDMA chanel access method
3. Any version of the Qualcom standard and it's revisio...

Samsung Captivate Wi-Fi problems

Anybody else having issues with their Captivate while on Wi-Fi, or during episodes of going in & out of a Wi-Fi area?
I've been having problems with the market, Google search initially not working. I either have to cycle Wi-Fi on & off or turn it off completely. I had the same type of problems with the Samsung Epic 4G, so I'm starting to think it's a Samsung Galaxy S problem.

Monthly Bill

I have the opportunity to join ATT thru my parents line to make it a family plan. The lady at the ATT store told me that she'd waive the $35 activation fee. But that the monthly charges would be $45. What does that $45 get me per month? I thought it would cost me more to have an iphone than $45 a month.

Thanks

Store Managers

Hi, I used worked for another carrier, and recently interviewed for a Store Manager business for an at&t authorized retailer.

Can someone please let me know what the pay is for store managers roughly in the Authorized retailer side of the business and also for direct at&t store managers.

Just trying to get an idea. Thanks

iphone question?

I have the iphone on at&t and my dad has verizon. He keeps saying how he read on cnet that the iphone will becoming to verizon in December. And he also says he is gonna get a droid because it has more apps than the iphone. If someone could find a article on how the iphone is not coming to verizon, and how the iphone has more apps than the droid, would be greatly appreciated. I would love to put him in his place 😁

BlackBerry to iPhone.

Will I be able to keep unlimited data plan if I upgrade from BB to an iPhone next week?
Is this something I can only do one way? (as in a store only, or could I upgrade online and still keep this data plan?)

Is AT&T's wireless network as bad as it's made out to be???

I'm a newbie to this site and I am currently a Verizon Wireless customer with a Samsung Fascinate smartphone. I am thinking about switching over to AT&T and getting an Apple iphone4G but I am wanting to find out more about AT&T and their network and how it compares to Verizon I have been with Verizon since 2006 and before that I was with Sprint since 2001. Can of you fellas chime in and let me know the goods and bad please.

TMO to ATT

I'm hoping to get the new Motorola Defy from T-Mobile, and (given it has WCDMA850) use it in conjunction with my AT&T account for my bouldering/kayaking excursions. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it should work on AT&T's data network? I know the places I frequent utilize the lower frequency spectrum, so theorhetically I would have data access. Am I right in assuming that all I need to do is below?

1) Get phone at retail online or at T-Mo
2) Unlock phone
3) Change Network Settings within device
4) Register the phone on my account with AT&T

I work for AT&T, so I figure the last two steps will be easy enough. Is it relatively easy to get newer phones unlocked? I've done it with year-old phones rather successfully.

Thanks for all helpf...

Is It Possible?

A few years ago I had at&t and because of a bad decision of letting a friend be on my bill, the bill was 1300.00 in a little over a month because she used data she didn't have and went over her 200 texts by astronomical amounts. Anyway, it went into collections. I just checked with at&t and they said I have a 0.00 deposit...is this possible or a fluke?

Why AT&T is horid - personal experience

I have had great coverage (5 bars and good call quality, never great) from my house for over 6 years. For the past 21 days I do not have outbound voice on a call. I have spoken with two managers in the AT&T Customer Retention unit (this is a joke). I asked them to waive the Cancellation fees because you are failing to provide service (I read the contract and know they do not guarantee any service at all). They said they are tearing down towers to put up new ones to provide better service and expressed this is a normal business practice - to kill my service to give me better service.... Expected uptime is December I was told, but we can give you a max of 30.00 a month off your bill. I said I want the contract terminated. They said there is no...
