watch phone

Ive been looking into watch phones lately, They run on the same GSM bands as att, but no wcdma (?) band. It is my understanding that att uses one for data and one for voice. My question is will these watch phones work on atts service? i do noit want to buy one and find that no company will support the service.

Strange iPhone 4 Bluetooth operation

I've recently used my iPhone 4 with latest FW with an Alpine stereo and Pioneer.
When connected to the Alpine the notification sound was silenced.
And when used with the Pioneer I found the phones master volume turned down to 1/2. ๐Ÿคจ
With the first once disconnected notifications sounds started working again. With the second the master volume stayed at 1/2 once disconnected.
Anyone else experience any of these things?

TOO BIG

With all the phone manufacturer's trying to one-up each other with bigger displays these days I want to know your thoughts on what's the perfect display size and your ideal phone dimension. Mine by the way is similar in size/display to the Samsung Galaxy with the 4" display and the max size I'm comfortable with.

3G Phone on 4G Network

I just spent $300 on a new LG GR500 (Xenon) the end of last year, now we learn AT&T will soon have the 4G Network. This is really unfair to people who spend big bucks for new phones, only to find out their previous phones are not compatible with the New Networks. This happend to me before! I had 2 accounts with AT&T back when they used the TDMA Network and paid 500.00 for 2 new phones. When Cingular took over AT&T they degraded my service, so I could no longer use my phones I was more then very pissed!! Cingular informed me I'd have to purchased their Phones, to use with their network I said no but hell no and went with Alltel. I got back with AT&T 2 years ago and really love being with them, now I'm afraid my new Xenon won't work with their...

Port question

If I requested a port from carrier A to carrier B and carrier A released the number but I did not finalize the port with carrier B and canceled it as well. Will carrier A take the number back after they realize the port never went through, should I call carrier A no notify them that the port out was canceled?
Phone with carrier A still works.

Data slow down, recent!

My data speeds today up and down the I5 corridor in Seattle, WA have been awful, less than 1MB. When I run a speed test the server flip flops from a local server to one in Kansas.
Any one else experiencing a data slow down with ATT? ๐Ÿ˜•
I figure I'll give em' overnight before I call CS.

So now all of a sudden att has bogus 4g to?

So now att is going to market hspa+ as 4g even after the statements they released to tmobile about calling hspa+ 4g. Hspa+ has been branded 3g a long time ago and now its not just tmobile that's lying about 4g so is att. When will this hspa+ 4g nonsense end. ๐Ÿ™„

Android phones

Hey AT&T, where are the Android phones? Not everyone wants a iphone. We know its your precious sales leader and that your in bed with Apple but you really need to consider Android before your customers leave for other carriers, all of which carry Android phones.

Now AT&T is getting in the upgrade change game.

http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/19/atandt-tweaking-m ... »

Sprint, Verizon, and now AT&T - all changing their upgrades. The end of the world is nigh, for some.

Engadget said
- Early upgrade pricing on new iPhones -- the standard subsidized price plus $200 -- will only be available six months into an existing iPhone activation.
- $50 and $100 discounts on top of subsidized pricing for upgrading customers -- similar to Verizon's recently-killed New Every Two program -- are going away. If you're currently eligible, you'll still be eligible to take advantage through July 23rd of this year.

"free" 3G upgrade letter?

Long-time lurker here.. I recently received a somewhat puzzling letter from AT&T (see below), and I'm wondering if anyone else got the same thing or can explain what's going on?

Short version: they're claiming that due to network upgrades, my current (non-3g) phone will no longer work starting next year, and I need to come into a store for a free upgrade.

Question 1: anyone know what's going on with the network here (in my case, southern california)? The phone I currently use (sony/ericsson K550i, purchased third-party) is not the one they have on file for my account, and it's not clear if this will actually interrupt my service.

Question 2: is this just a blatant attempt to pull in 2g hold-outs, offer them a cheap upgrade (ie, ful...

At&T needs to wake up and get a good HTC released to thier customer base.

I don't want any of your apple phones or or the next best thing. I want HTC large display, 2.2 android OS. no more delays or you might find your customers going some where else.

customer need

I have a customer (ATT) who is visually impaired, and needs a phone that will read off the menus to him. Corp store got him a Breeze 2, which does that, but he says he can't understand what it is saying. Are there any other ATT phones that do this?

i'm curious

Across the street from one of my locations is a Verizon COR store. I have been blessed with a mass defection from Verizon. Thanks wireless number portability!

My staff and I always survey these Verizon customers to why they are leaving. Most of the time it is due to service issues in regard to the Alltel aquisition taking place. 30 percent of it was for the iphone.

I always wondered why people would leave a carrier happy just for a phone and pay $xxx's in early term fees for that carrier.

I wonder if this is going to go the other way for att? The service is strong for my area with att. I can't fathom someone with att leaving for Verizon for a CDMA variant that can't do simantaneous voice and data.

What's going on?

I live in Dallas. The coverage with AT&T has always been great with a dropped call maybe every other month at most. Now it happens much more regularly. I had a late night conference call (I work for a European company) where the call dropped seven times, and I was not moving the entire time. Does anyone know if there are some major system changes? I have a Blackberry 9700. ๐Ÿ‘€
