During data sessions and when idle my phone has and 'H' when on a call or sending a text it changes to 3G. What's the difference, if any?

IPhone= Slow Data and Dropped Calls...

Ever since the update that "fixed" the inaccurate reading of signal I have experienced more dropped calls and slower data than ever before. It is getting to the point to where I have at least 2-3 dropped calls a day. I am really considering canceling my service because of this. The slow data service does not help either which I am constantly downloading no more then .80mbps. It's not like I live in the middle of nowhere, I live in the NY Metro Area. Any advice will help. Thanks.

Hugo Chavez fathered a child... with an ALIEN!!!!!

Now that I have your attention:

Who here hates touch screens?

I have played with a few, from different carriers, and from HTC and Apple.

In fact: I myself carry a iPhone 3GS.

I have found that the more and more inuse a touch screen, the less an less I like them. I am also disappointed that RIM though it needed to.

The more and more I get to a permenant grown up accounting job, the less and less I care about what cool stuff comes on my phone, because less face it, you can accomplish the same with an iPhone as you can with a BB Bold 9700 and an iPod touch. The downside of having two, is that RIM is known for making less than flashy phones. And damn it all, that is ok with me.

I haven't reached 30 yet, and all I want is ph...

Wi-Fi Calling

Just a question for ATT... If we get a Blackberry curve (8320 or newer) that has WiFi capabilities. Can we use the WiFi for making and receiving phone calls when we are using a WiFi network? If yes what about other things like text messages etc. ATT can not tell me if they allow it or if its possible. I know that T-Mobile advertises it (online).

Upgrade Question for CSRs

I'm due for an upgrade on my dad's account, but I don't know a whole lot about AT&T's phones. What would be the best phone that is currently free? I would prefer one that doesn't require data, if possible.

Captivate (again) or wait for new Holiday android release?

Had the captivate from Best Buy, returned it 3 times due to issues and just gave up on it & got my upgrade restriction lifted. Had all plans of getting the capivate again from at&t (best buy had a buggy batch apparently) but now im hearing rumors of a new android releases for the holiday (november time frame). Should I wait? I loved the captivate, but honestly no camera flash affects me. Your suggestions? Anyone have hints at what devices are forthcoming for droid?

Data dumb question

As much as I love Verizon Wireless, and I do, I am inching ever so closer to switching to AT&T strictly for the iPhone. This scares me on many fronts, not least of which is that 50% of the time I am in NYC, but, that's another story.

My concern today is data. With AT&T not offering unlimited data plans anymore, my dumb question is should I be concerned about a plan with a 2GB limitation?

My son and I are always on the web with our Blackberry's and constantly in Email, Twitter, etc. My wife, not so much, so I see no issue there.

So please forgive my ignorance in this area, but, how many emails and how much web browsing can do I before I run the clock out on 2GB per month?

Pantech Breeze II

My parents got this phone thru ATT in hopes it was better than the first one they had...A few gripes am not sure it's cause of the way the phone was created by the manufacturer...There is not a way their call logs can be setup as John Doe 555-555-1212 (12) instead of John Doe 555-555-1212 x12 times in the call log?

BB Torch Apps

I noticed that the WHERE app only had a limited free trial on the BB Torch, while on other OS platforms like Android and WebOS, this app is free.

Is this a BB thing or at&t?

Torch, Xperia, iPhone4

I'm going to be up for an upgrade in a month or so, and I can't believe how much thought I have put into what phone I will get next. I'm torn between these three smartphones, and I just cannot make up my mind, so I ask the following questions:

Xperia:
-Does this phone have Cellular Video?

-Is this phone going to be upgraded to Froyo or at least Eclair? and if so, will it support multi touch? Is multi touch something that can be added to a phone through a software upgrade? I though this was more of a hardware thing..

Torch:
-How is this phone's memory for apps. (currently own a 9000 and it sucks for apps, because it barely has any memory for them)

-How does it perform? (considering the processor of 624Mhz, is this really a...

Rethink Possible

....Or rethink your provider?
🤣
Why, why, why at&t? How can cricket and other carriers offer unlimted broadband service for $40/month, and your plans have data caps? Is it greed? Is it your efforts to appease shareholders? Is it the former? Yea, it's the former! GREED!

At&t 😢
200MB = $35/mo
5000MB =$60/mo

Cricket 😁
Unlimited = $40/mo
(Speeds don't slow down at no time once a certain data cap has been reached)

My usage history:

June, 2010 7.075 GB
July, 2010 4.012 GB
August, 2010 3.651 GB
September,2010 0.603 GB
I'd be up sh!t's creek if I had at&t! Glad I'm not a fanboy! 😉

Dell Streak in stores?

Does anyone know if the Streak will be available in AT&T or other stores at some point? The local store says "maybe but not sure". I would like to get it as my upgrade and not pay $550 for it sight unseen.

I know it runs 1.6, but that doesn't really bother me, and I hear that 2.1 is being pushed out over the air now anyway.

Anyone have this or seen it in the flesh? Opinions?

Thanks

Played w/Droid 2 and it sucked!!!

I finally was able to get a Blackberry Torch and I love it. Two of my coworkers upgraded to a Droid 2 this week at work and I was showing them how to use the Android OS (since I've had some android phones). Well, the Droid 2 sucked and the more I mess around with it, the more I wanted to throw it in the trash can! The screen was small and very crowded. I don't see what the hype is. I guess to each their own, but I guess I'll always be a Blackberry fan.

Samsung Captivate problem

Just got my Captivate and it randomly returns to the home screen. Seems like the 'home' button is some how intermittently stuck, anyone else experience this?
I'm going to hold onto it for a day or so and see if it works itself out.

If you can't make calls...

If your ATT phone all of a sudden won't allow you to make or receive calls, says "emergency calls only" or something similar, there is an "old school" method that will more than likely fix it:
All you have to do, is turn your phone off, let everything power all the way down, and then turn your phone back on. This forces any updates to come through and the majority of the time, will allow your phone to begin working normally again.
It's not mentioned very often, but it's recommended that you turn your phones off at least once a week to keep everything updated. Try this remedy first before you call customer care or come to a store.

Why I call CARE.......

1) PUK Codes
2) VM Resets
3) Backdating price plans
4) Re-rates and bill credits
5) Ban to BAN moves
6) Needing to be tfered to Teir 2 tech support

Other than that, we agents are self sufficent. Want an exception upgrade? I call CNA for the approval. Need to to a TOS, I can get it done same day without the BS TOS fees..

I pride myself and my team for doing on our own. Anything to stay off the radar.......
