Unfortunately, the unlimited data plan has gone the way of the dodo bird. The only way that you can get the unlimited data for a smartphone is to be grandfathered in on it so that it can continue whith your new phone. Any new customers to ATT, or if you are upgrading from a standard phone into a smartphone, the most that you can get is the 2GB. If you do go over the 2GB cap, you pay $10 for each GB you go over, so your service does not shut off at the cap, you just have the extra charge for the data overage.

No one good way to get around the 2GB cap is that you do get unlimited wifi. So if you want to download that movie from Netflix, or spend a lot of time playing online games or such, you can hook into wifi and use it all you want. So i...

It might be worth mentioning that other carriers still have unlimited data AND Androids. The iPhone is the clincher. No iPhone, but then, no $55 in data ($25 plus three overages at $10 each).

I love how "use WiFi" is the best response to this.

97% of users don't have this problem. It's not that AT&T doesn't care about the other 3%, AT&T just doesn't want the other 3% downloading movies all day and killing the network for everyone else.

All you can eat data is a thing of the past for us, and will soon be the same for everyone else. Maybe not Sprint and T-Mo, but when Verizon gets the iPhone, bitches will cry.

i love how you have no clue about how all carriers will go to this eventually, wifi is a viable and great solution, do you know at&t has over 23000 wifi hotspots? verizon has something like 10% of that... wifi is faster and can handle more bandwidth, its a fact 😲

I love how you responded to me, but seemed to be responding to something that someone else wrote. I never said other carriers would or would not be changing.

Also, something like 10% of more than 23,000 is 2,300. According to Verizon Wireless' VZAccess Manager WiFi locator, there are 11,461 WiFi hotspots available across the country. This doesn't include the 16,466 hotspots available through Verizon Wireless' parent company, Verizon Communications. If I just take Verizon Wireless' numbers without it's own parent company's hotspots, that's about 9,161 more than you, like, sai...

Is this a technical knock out? You cannot get pummeled mercilessly and THAT be your return swing. DO BETTER.

Get an Android from Sprint. It's unlimited for the time being.

I'm not 100% certain, but it may be possible to get unlimited data if you take over someone's account (transfer of ownership) that already has unlimited data.
