Escalation Fee

Here is the end-all be-all de-escalation tactic. If a customer wishes to escalate we advise them there is a fee (could be $10, $25, etc.) to escalate this issue to a supervisor/manager. If the sup sides with the customer at the end of the dispute the fee is credited back. If the sup sides with the rep, the fee of course would stand. Then if the customer wishes to escalate yet again past the sup, the fee would increase each time for how high the issue gets. (Example being the issue escalating to the Office of the President being a charge of $10,000)

Not only that, but the individual from management that takes the call would get a small percentage of the fee, i.e. a commission, if the escalation ends with the dispute in favour of the comp...

Seriously, I am trying to tell you something, listen...

Yeah so this customer calls in, like 3 TDMA towers in his location, I cannot tell him this, as it is a wireless Sin. Sat here for 17 minutes troubleshooting customer's phone, that he is on right now.

He states it's the service because he has reception 5-6 miles away. Ok fine, I see no tower problems or anything in the issue log.
How about taking the subtle hint that because TDMA is dying you should switch to GSM. Of course he is stubborn and doesn't want to switch to GSM.

Well you don't want to switch to GSM, TDMA is dying, and you are on the wireless phone that is having problems for one day now. How about wait awhile or have us troubleshoot with you off the thing having the problem, YOUR WIRELESS PHONE!!!

long time customers

just so customers know, please stop calling us with this beginning..
" i have been with you ( your) company for xx amount of yr or xx amount of mnths

just sop u know cingular valus everyone business, HOWEVER just becasue you have been with the company for xx amount of yr's doesnt give you any special power over other customers

things are set up the way they are for a reason

i had a customer today who would rather pay xx amount of dollars every mnth for overage charges than pay for a 30 phone.. becasue in her mind ( we owed her a free phone)

OWED excuse me, since when does a company owe you a free phone, do water companyies owe ya a free sink every yr??? or a new water heater??

like is it jsut me.. like honestly if my provide...

A message for those unhappy with working for Cingular

I thought I should post this for my fellow employees. This is excerpt of a letter from Kathy Dowling (Senior VP of Customer Service, the woman from the videos, for those who don't know) that will be sent to all Cingular employees in the near future. With recent posts such as "Employess need to quit B*TCHING!!!!!" and "Quit your whinings...", I thought this would fit right in. Listen to what Kathy has to say, she makes a point:

It is saddening to see that so many Cingular employees are unhappy with their jobs. Cingular Wireless has worked tirelessly to create a happy-happy-joy-joy working environment to help maintain employee morale and keep money coming into our pockets. man every time I get down in the dumps about my cell bill hitting like the 200 mark I get a call like I just had where they got a 3500+ for roaming and roaming Ld. Makes me feel good that I know my calling area
