My Nokia E62 Review

E62? Smart, Very Smart.

by Doc Drilla

This is a phone worth buying if you have the money for it. I am currently testing the phone and I do have my own pros and cons about this device:

PROS:
Simple-to-use interface.

Sound clarity is excellent, especially with the speaker, as it is hella loud.

Blackberry Push on the device works beautifully.

Signal stays steadily over 4 bars on the device.

It maybe wide, but I do like the thin-appearance.

Full, QWERTY keyboard for the quick-fingered.

Large screen makes web-browsing beautiful and with the EDGE technology, this one's a no-brainer.

Intuitive business apps.

Expandable with mini-SD card. The device I'm testing comes with 80MB built-in memory.

The battery li...

HSDPA/GPRS

I'd like to know if its possible to use a phone with HSDPA on our service...Can we reconfigure it for GPRS? I know I probably sound like an idiot for not knowing, but honestly I don't really understand this side of cellular service very much....I'm looking at the V3xx....I know we can use Cingular phones by just sending our updates and didn't know if the same thing could be done in this case....

Look Who's Being Punked...

..a lot of Verizon users aren't particularly fond of iPhone being exclusive to Cingular. Matter of fact, I ran across a thread of a Verizon user soundin' so bitch-like. I had to laugh like hell 'coz he sounded so whiny:

Motorola RIZR

Has anyone used this phone on our network? Can you provide the good/bad/indifferent. I have read the forums on here and the only negative I have heard is that is does not display the time on the screen. I will be sure to post my own review on the phone once I get it.

Phone Tester

Doc,

I see on here that you seem to test phones alot. Question I have is are all phones tested by corp in OKC? If so WHY? Why aren't reps or managers allowed to test in different areas? If this is not the case and reps can test, how do I get on the tester list?

DOC DRILLA

What's up with the Wap and MMs updates? Somethimes they'll send but won't show the page with instructions...I get this "500 internal server error"....I don't need that page for most phones because I've been doing this for a while now, but I don't do alot of Samsungs and I need that page 👿 🙂 Whats up?

iTunes?

I just ordered my new V3i from Cell One and was very clear to the representative that I only wanted this phone if it had the iTunes software on it. I'm a bit concerned that he told me yes only to keep me as a customer and the phone does not have the software on it.

Can anyone confirm or deny if Cellular One V3i's have the iTunes player in them?

3G, Anyone??

In your opinion, what do you think or when should we decide to take that next step to 3G services? What do you see from other carriers that we could implement from them? I'm opening up the forum on this one. Any wack posts that don't have anything to do with phones or technology get smashed out and a colossal-sized gas-face. Word down. Aside from that, what are your thoughts on this topic? I've heard things about us tapping into it but nothing has been yet confirmed.

Doc Drilla...Help,please!!

Do you know when we will have the settings for the wap/mms/cache reset for the w300i?? I have gotten numberous calls and can never get all the settings checked. I have used the z520a for most issues but that does not cover everything. Just had another call as a matter of fact.
Anything you can do I would really apprecite(btw I work midnights and can't call tier2).

Cingular Merger soon?

I work for Cellular One and I must say there is a lot of interesting things happening around the company that makes me and my fellow employees wonder if a Cingular buy out is in our future. The most recent of the weird occurred this past week, when a Cingular customer came into our store. This customer lives in a market that is not a Cingular market, it is a Cellular One market. He wanted to get a local number for this area. He was told by Cingular Customer Service that he did not need to cancel his account to get a local number because Cingular is going to buy Cellular One at the beginning of the year. Our new holiday promotion started Friday and the "tag line" is "The latest phones on an even stronger network." There are also internal "thi...

Parting glance

To a Cellular company whats the most important. No its not signal they all have that. The phones ... nope again. The service or the price? Afraid not. The most important thing to a Cellular company are its people. Inside and out. Our customers and the company representative ie customer care, financial, and retail. They are the face of the company and mouth of the company. Without the customers and the people who deal with them one on one the rest of the company would die. So in other words the carrier is me and i'm the carrier.
