3G, Anyone??

In your opinion, what do you think or when should we decide to take that next step to 3G services? What do you see from other carriers that we could implement from them? I'm opening up the forum on this one. Any wack posts that don't have anything to do with phones or technology get smashed out and a colossal-sized gas-face. Word down. Aside from that, what are your thoughts on this topic? I've heard things about us tapping into it but nothing has been yet confirmed.

I think we shoud soon that way we can have video calls and live tv broadcasts ... that would be the bomb ... we already have this napster stuff with the w300i which i see as a step towards the positive. BTW I think that 3rd Base cd you mentioned by way of gas faced was terrible cept for pop goes the weasel. I digress. On a side note I think we should go away from lockline and cellect solutions and put the jobs back into our hands and hire us some phone techs for each store. I personannly can fix some phone problems and have opened up and taken apart many also. They are about as easy as computers to deal with. Also to save the company some money, I've heard we pay for our wap and mms settings program. Why not utilize the ones Sony, Nok...

I agree that 3G should be the next step taken, however I remember August 04 when we were told we were going to compete with Nextel with our own PTT service and never saw it. N/E way people are looking for the latest and greatest and with our phones and the services we can offer. Also if we want to "compete" with the bigger guys (Verizon,Cingular,Sprint) in some of our markets then the more "cool" gadgets and gizmos we can offer the better we can do. I really feel this deal with Napster is good for us, and I have been hitting it hard with customers anytime they buy the W300,V3i and the response is positive. Let's hit it hard and fast and leave them wet and wanting more.

The PTT never materialized because we had a hard enough time convincing that our GSM network can compete. The rural population ain't ready for all that yet. They're still geeked about being able to use the internet from a phone. As far as Napster, we still need more phones to work with it. The KRZR is still being worked on as far as support for Napster Mobile.

Speaking of Napster Mobile, when are we going to be able to access it. I saw the announcement up on the waypizz but I have yet to see any more news on it. Or is it something that I need to look at again? And I didn't see any details on the announcement about how to use it, work it, or access it.

We pulled it for the moment pending some upgrades. It wasn't at full speed when we brought it out. It will be back soon. The W300i is the only phone we support at the moment. Matter fact, just got an email stating that the Napster Mobile has just been relaunched, so you can now try it with your W300i if you have one.

BOOO Sony......YAY MOTOROLA!!!! They seriously need to support the high cost multimedia phones. Just because 98% of my customer base comes in and says..."I want the free phone that comes with that plan" Doesn't mean I should suffer. 😁

Yeah, but essentially, you pay for what you get. Want to be a cheapskate, you gone get the cheap s**t with no killer features on it. The KRZR isn't going to be supported at the moment but it will while we're still waiting to see how many subs will be picking up the KRZR. It just won't be supported at initial launch.
