How Will VM Compete?

How will Virgin Mobile compete with MetroPCS and Cricket, each now offering unlimited local and long distance in metro areas in 20 states?

Granted, these services each deploy their own infrastructure and limit roaming*.

However, Boost Mobile, which traditionally has offered pay-as-you-go voice and PTT on Sprint Nextel's iDEN network, is now offering unlimited local and long distance in select metro areas on Sprint's CDMA network.

I think Amp'D mobile and XE was the beginning of a natural correction/ consolidation for the pay-as-you wireless field.

While Virgin Mobile was a pioneer of the pay-as-you-go model and continues to innovate on content, it needs to catch up on the price end.

Perhaps they've been too distracted by...

new phone connects only to American Roaming Network

I bought a reconditioned Snapper phone from the Virgin website for $41. It looks perfectly new. I bought a $20 prepaid card at Walmart, and did all the activation procedures on the Virgin website and the phone.

Here's the problem:

It connects only to the American Roaming Network. If I try to make an outgoing call, I hear a recorded message from American Roaming Network advising me that the call will cost several dollars. If I try to make an incoming call, I get only the Virgin voicemail.

I know there's a strong Sprint PCS signal because I've can detect it with my other phone, a Sprint phone with a Sprint account - so the problem is not a lack of signal.

That's 15 hours after I activated the phone.

I phoned Virgin's customer se...

LG aloha schematic?

Hey, all.
I recently purchased a new phone (LG Aloha) as the Slice blew IMO.
Now, being the totally blind user that I am (and not able to find any of the LGs that talk), I have come asking a favor ^_^.
How hard would it be to write down how many times one must arrow through the main menu to get to:
+ring tones
+connecting tone (not sure what that one is called)
+ringing+vibrating mode
I know where all the keys are; I just have no idea how the menu is laid out and don't want to start arrowing down and start browsing the 'Web (I did that once before and got a bill that was five dollars over due to me arrowing into the wrong menu).
Any help would be appreciated, as I'm really stuck and just wanna' change the ringtones and basic stuff li...

Peny texting with a minute to minute plan

Hi phonescoopers, I was wondering if I can get the $9.99 penny texting package without getting a monthly plan. I plan on using this hone for texting only and my other phone for voice(my parents won't pay for my texts and this is cheaper) and I don't wan't to buy any mintes or be committed to any minutes.

Hi guys

I need info. Basically I buy cheap prepaid phones to take rough conditions so my PDA doesn't get messed up. I had a C139 from Tracfone but it took a spill in the river and now it doesn't work. So I need to get a new one. I'm bored with the C139 and the next cheapest phone is the Marbl from Virgin. So what I want to know is if it's a solid phone? Since I will be taking it to remote (outdoors) places, I want to know it'll be able to make emergency calls.

Any help is welcome! I know Kyoceras aren't good phones but this isn't my primary.

New WAP Option: $5 for 30 days

I noticed today when I went to do some web surfing on my Cyclops that there is now a second option for net access: $5 for 30 days of access with a 5 MB limit.

Since I only use WAP about 1x/month, it's more access than I need, but I know some of you use it more frequently.

VM for an Infriequent talker but a frequent texter

I am looking into VM because my local Bell company doesn't have pre-paid national coverage. I am a somewhat frequent talker, but mostly I text everyone because of its obvious convienience. I am wondering whather or not I should get it and what phone I should be looking into. The natural choice would be the switch back, but the cyclops and slider sonic also sound appealing. Any comments?

Virgin Mobile UK phones in the USA?

Virgin Mobile UK phones in the USA? 🤣
I was wondering if it is possible to import a Virgin Mobile UK pay-as-you-go phone and set it up to be used here in the United States? They have such better phones over there... Razr, Krazr and others.

Switch_Back.

How long do you think the Switch_Back will be available for? Because I really like it, but I'm waiting to get out of another contract that ends in June, so do you think it'll still be available by June?

My bad day with VMCS

I've had ***** of a time over the past two days over this I ordered 2 k10's on
2/6/07 one to replace my moms Kyocera 2255 and the other just as another **** phone to take to the beach or some other risky environment for electronics. Since there more less free when considering the free $20. air time I would need to buy anyways.

So when I saw they changed the terms on 2/7/07 I decided to shoot them an e-mail to verify I get the 2/6/07 terms

It was finally straightened out in the end.

I get this reply

so they reply
