Data Roaming & Text Messaging
Jun 6, 2010, 9:19 PM
in the Sprint forum

I have considered leaving AT&T for an EVO on Sprint. My daughter lives with my ex-wife in an area that only has data roaming on Sprint's coverage map (an area that only has Verizon towers). She basically never talks, only texts. If I switched her to Sprint as well, am I going to be charged for each of her texts since she is in a data roaming location most of the time?

Windows Live Messenger On Voyager
Aug 4, 2008, 9:12 PM

Treo 800 Release Date?

When will the Treo 800 be available on Verizon? The early reviews of Sprint users indicates it is a very nice phone.

Airave Question
Jun 28, 2008, 10:42 PM
in the Sprint forum

I have considered switching to Sprint, but my daughter lives with my ex-wife in another town which is only served by Verizon. To keep from having contract termination problems due to excess roaming, could I buy an Airave to install at my ex-wife's house for my daughter's phone? If so, is it possible to buy another Airave if I have reception problems in my house (e.g. my basement) or would I be limited to just one unit?

Simply Everything Roaming Limits
Jun 26, 2008, 4:19 PM
in the Sprint forum

I currently have both AT&T and Verizon (because my daughter lives in an adjoining state where AT&T has no coverage). Sprint has native coverage in my town, but it roams on Verizon where my daughter lives. I have considered moving to Sprint for both of our phones, but I was concerned about whether there is a roaming limit (data and voice)with the SE plan and, if so, whether it would be likely that my daughter might cause ...

2 days ago, we bought a Motorola w755 to replace a Razr and successfully paired it with a Motorola H700 bluetooth headset. They worked together for 2 days perfectly. Today, they are no longer paired. Furthermore, they will not pair. Can anyone help us?

Re: LG Dare questions-Phantom1359 and vzw-rich
Jun 16, 2008, 5:25 PM
in the Verizon forum

I am ready to switch to Verizon from AT&T, but cannot decide on a phone. I would like the Curve, but I find the keyboard to be too small and cramped. I would get the Q9c, but the inadequate RAM and lockups rule it out. Will the Dare have any way to sync with Outlook? Also, will it have a good HTML web browser? Finally, will it be able to work with my Yahoo ...

Curve Reception
May 19, 2008, 11:47 PM
in the Verizon forum

For years, I have had to keep phones with AT&T and Verizon, because Verizon had no coverage in my town but AT&T had no coverage where my daughter lives. Last weekend, Verizon finally got coverage in my town. Although I know you can't directly compare bars on phones for signal strenth, nonetheless Verizon's signal is not quite as strong as AT&T's in my house (it is fine everywhere else). With a 3 year old Motorola flip ...

Future 3G Coverage Question
Mar 28, 2008, 11:18 PM
in the AT&T forum

I live in rural SE KY (zip code 40965) and have been with AT&T (formerly Cingular) for about 8 years. Is there any way to tell when 3G coverage will come to my area? One AT&T rep told me it will come soon and is past due. Another rep said it will be 1-2 years. Also, is anyone else noticing more network problems than usual? My entire family is now having many more dropped ...

As far as I know, Blazer works best with WAP sites. It does not render HTML pages as you would view them with a desktop browser. Opera Mini does.

How can Opera Mini or Opera Mobile be used with the Centro? It's my understanding that Java is hard to find for Palm and that the Opera browsers are unstable on Palm.

Re: Sprint Call Quality
Mar 16, 2008, 8:59 PM
in the Sprint forum

Thanks everyone. Can I ask one more question? Does anyone on Sprint have troubles with reception inside buildings? I was attending a CLE seminar in Nashville last October and was told by a lawyer lecturing on technology that he had a Treo 755 that he loved, but he was unable to get reception in buildings in downtown Nashville.

Sprint Call Quality
Mar 15, 2008, 10:30 PM
in the Sprint forum

I currently have both AT&T (for my use in my town which has no Verizon coverage) and Verizon (for my use in the area where my daughter lives which has no AT&T coverage). I have considered switching to Sprint, which has coverage in both places, but I am concerned about voice call quality. My ex-wife tried Sprint last fall and had a Katana DLX. When she called me, the voice quality was low in volume and ...

Q9h or iPhone?
Nov 13, 2007, 8:31 AM
in the Apple iPhone forum

I am looking for an upgrade and have narrowed down my selection to the Q9h or the iPhone (my 2 sons in college each have one). The iPhone has a much better screen, wifi (which is important since I live in a rural area with just EDGE), and style. It lacks mms, integration with Windows Live Messenger and Windows Live Mail. Can anyone help me make up my mind?

Q9h and EDGE
Nov 7, 2007, 9:09 PM
in the Motorola Q Global / Q9h forum

Unfortunately, I live in a rural area of KY that does not have 3G and will not have it for another year or more. So, I was wondering how the Q9h does in areas of EDGE coverage only for internet access. Any ideas?

WM Phone With An iMac?
Nov 2, 2007, 7:47 AM
in the AT&T forum

I am considering purchasing an iMac which my daughter wants much more than a Windows computer. However, I have thought about buying the new Q9h. My question is can a WM6 phone sync with an iMac? I would buy an iPhone (my 2 sons have them), but I don't like the missing MMS, flash player, etc.

Coverage Question
Oct 16, 2007, 10:56 PM
in the Verizon forum

I live in a rural city/town in SE KY (zip code 40965). I currently have AT&T and Verizon, but I can only use Verizon analog coverage in KY. Sprint is the only other carrier with digital coverage here (Verizon does not allow roaming on the Sprint towers here-unusual but true). Verizon has purchased Ramcell in SE KY and will only say that digital coverage will be available by May 2008. 1 Verizon rep told ...

EV-DO Coverage Question
Oct 14, 2007, 7:58 PM
in the Sprint forum

I currently have AT&T, but am thinking of switching to Sprint. I live in a rural community (zip code 40965) which has Sprint voice coverage, but no EV-DO although two smaller towns to the North and South of us have EV-DO. When I checked the Sprint website a couple of months ago for anticipated coverage within 120 days, it showed my town having EV-DO coverage. Now, however, when I check the same option it no longer ...

Motorola Q9

Will AT&T's version of the Q9 be as sluggish as Verizon's? That appears to be the drawback to an otherwise desirable phone. Also, will the AT&T version have WiFi?

Re: Hotmail on iPhone

I am an attorney and have many, many saved e-mails on Hotmail. I have set up a Yahoo account, but want to transfer all of my saved e-mails to Yahoo. So far, I have tried the TrueSwitch service, but although it transferred my contacts it did not transfer my e-mails as advertised. Does anyone know how I could transfer my saved e-mails (about 900) to my new Yahoo account so that I could have everything accessible ...

Ringtone Problem
Jul 16, 2007, 10:39 PM
in the AT&T forum

I have a question. My ex-wife has an LG CU500 and downloaded the Magnum, P.I. ringtone. Since it is cool, I attempted to download it for my Samsung Sync, but was told that no such ringtone exists. When I switch to the LC CU500 the ringtone is available. It is also not available to the v3xx or KRZR. Why is an mp3 ringtone available for 1 phone on AT&T but not the others?

Re: Coverage Question

Why can Sprint roam on Verizon, yet Verizon won't roam on Sprint? Sprint does have digital coverage here, but I really don't want them as my carrier.

Re: Coverage Question
Jul 15, 2007, 6:11 PM
in the Verizon forum

I have a Motorola that is tri-band. However, the analog signal only works in certain areas of my town and is of poor quality. Also, battery life is extremely short with the analog signal. Furthermore, there is no notification of voice mail messages until I cross the state line and enter digital coverage (I have had many complaints from callers that I did not respond to their voice mail messages when I had gotten no indication ...

Re: Coverage Question
Jul 15, 2007, 5:50 PM
in the Verizon forum

I currently have the Samsung Sync. This may sound weird, but the dropped call problem has become worse since the merger and exponentially worse since the iPhone debut. I have read that AT&T failed to invest to increase the data capacity of the network in anticipation of all the iPhone EDGE usage and that the network is overwhelmed. Whether that is true or not, dropped calls have become commonplace, and I actually have uniform coverage here ...
