The hw6500 is going to Cingular. If its a phone you really want, you could go buy an unlocked version which will work on T-Mobile. With EDGE 2.5g service launching (rumor is tomorrow Sept 1st) shortly, T-Mobile will probably lanuch with new phones that use this service. The two HTC devices confirmed so far are: HTC Tornado HTC Wizard (Keyboard) These are supposed to be available by october. None of these support GPS but you can buy seperate GPS attachment that will work with ...

Its now rumored that the HTC wizard will go to Cingular first. See engadget.... http://www.engadget.com/entry/1 234000840054620/ I'm really trying hard to stay with T-mobile but their not making it easy. C'mon T-Mobile time for some high-end Windows Mobile handhelds....pretty please.

Do you mean the HTC wizard? Its a new phone that will be out in Q3 that supports EDGE..... https://www.phonescoop.com/news/ item.php?n=1303 On some of the photos on the FCC filing for this phone you can see a t-zone symbols. For those who are interested. There is a good thread over at howardforums.com where people are indicating where they got EDGE. If you read the entire thread you can tell T-Mobile is definitely deploying edge rapidly. Its "2.5g". My comment on the HTC Wizard was related to what type of HTC phone might be offered by T-Mobile not that the wizard is 3g.

If thats the case that would be astonishing; To go from facing a $6-8 billion bill for the 3g network build out that wasnt expected to be complete till 2007...to having it complete in 2 months with an agreement, is quiet a move. I guess its got to be Cingular since they are the only carrier with nationwide GSM coverage. Call me a pessimest but why on earth would Cingular give T-Mobile access to their 3g network. Dont get ...

Why would T-Mobile launch the HTC universal (MDA IV, PRO) when they dont have any 3g service deployed or even close? I can understand the HTC Wizard because it has EDGE. Trust me I would love to see the HTC universal from T-Mobile US but it doesnt make any sense.

I dont understand why this keeps coming up. Edge is deployed by T-Mobile in a few areas and plans are to have it deployed in all markets by EOY..see below: May 02, 2005 T-Mobile has fallen behind on its deployment of EDGE, considered a 2.5G technology. I havent used it but I've read several reviews and many many forum posts and the vast majority have liked it if you exclude the processor, memory and edge issues. Most of these major issues you mentioned can be corrected. It was the most talked about phone in 2004 so obviouly Motorola hit a nerve with it, thats what I find it hard to believe they would just toss in the towel on the design.

IMO the original design/concept of the MPX was perfect, flawless. Obviously, the memory and processor and no edge support let it down but I'm surprised that Motorola would walk away from such a good concept as the MPX.

I recall several months back when the MPX(MPX300) got cancelled, there were rumours that there will be a razr type mpx phone coming out. Is this it? I presume not since it doesnt have the clamshell hinge. Has Anyone hear anything on a follow up to the mpx? Given Motorola's big PR event (MOTONOW), I thought there might be some news.

I did a little research and it looks like there is a firmware upgrade for the v3 which enables video capture. Rumour is that t-mobile is getting the razr with this firmware. http://www.howardforums.com/show thread.php?threadid=621868
