Just to clarify, the REVVL and REVVL Plus phones are not Google phones, they are Android phones.

Where to buy MyTouch 4G Slide?
Nov 13, 2011, 1:58 AM
in the T-Mobile forum

Ok, so I've signed up for the $49.99 value plan. I no longer get a phone upgrade discount, but it'll still be far less expensive with this plan to upgrade my phone every 22 months. The MyTouch 4G Slide is $500 through tMobile, but where else can I get a new one, for a better price, but not get ripped off? There are many sellers on eBay, for about $350-400. So, where do you guys suggest? Also, will HTC warranty the phone ...

I've got a Nokia, contact me in mid July, after I get my MyTouch, and if I get good enough reception with it, I'll give you a good deal on it. dcrandon@ca.rr.com

Re: Question about the MyTouch for your T-Mobile guys
Jul 26, 2009, 11:49 AM

While the MyTouch won't have UMA, (I wish it did), I can tell you that my wife's G1 gets decent reception in our home, while no other T-Mobile phone has. Even Nokias. I have the Nokia UMA phone because I needed it in the home, but my guess is that with the MyTouch I won't.

Please, please let the G2 have UMA!!

I sure as heck hope the G2 has UMA. I need it for my home...but maybe not. Every phone I've had for my house has had really poor reception, so I've has to get a UMA phone but my wife G1 always has at least two bars, maybe the G2 will be that good?

No law in CA. This is simply the carrier's choice. But their choice to do this was influenced by a short-lived law passed in 2005. The law provided for a 30 day return period. The carriers successfully lobbied for changes to the law, the law was repealed, but then never put back on the books. The carriers decided to continue to 30 return period to avoid having laws passed that restrict their business decisions, and so far it's worked.

Again, it makes calls fine without a data plan. I've done it. You just have to reset it once, after that, it will recognize the SIM card each time you put it in.

I've been with T-Mobile since 2002, and I will agree that penetration into buildings is spotty (just like any high frequency system like Sprint), but outdoors I no longer have any problems.

Well, when I asked CS about faxing they said "no". When I asked "why", she didn't know. She then put me on hold, came back and said it's because there is no "port" for a fax machine.... I said I don't need a "port". The fax machine I have, and most new one's as well, piggyback on the regular line and simply "listen" for fax tones. If they here them, the machine takes over the line and receives the fax. ...

@Home-you CAN fax, but is it FULL Caller ID?
Aug 24, 2008, 10:42 AM
in the Techs & Trends forum

Hello Everyone, I've just confirmed with T-Mob that you can use a fax machine with the home phone service and long as your fax machine just plugs into your regular line. If you fax machine requires a separate port, then you can't use it. What I'd really like to know is if the Caller ID is the full name and number like in regular home phone lines, or is it just the phone number like usual in cell phones. Thanks

I'm really thinking about getting this since it'll save me about $40 per month. I've already found out that I CAN use a fax machine despite what they said. I'd like to know though, is the Caller ID full name and number, or just the number... David

Just got off the phone with them yesterday. The fax thing is apparently misunderstood. They told me you can't use fax because the router doesn't have a port for it. Huh? I told them my fax machine just plugs into my regular telephone line and listens for fax tones. If it hears them, it then receives the fax. They told me that should work just fine then. What I'd really like to know is if the Caller ID is full name ...

Well, talked to T-Mobile last night about this. Their response was that it's been a year so they can't do anything about it. Told them it doesn't matter how long it's been, if they "lied" to me (rep didn't realize I was in CA), and I just found out about it, tough for them! Guy said he'd have a supervisor call me back. Next day, no call back of course. Called in again, got the same response, it's been a year, ...

Pearl 8120 vs Curve

Hey guys, gonna buy a phone primarily to use the HotSpot @ Home cause of my crappy reception at home. Aside from the keyboard and screen, any significant differences between the Blackberry Pearl 8120 and the Curve? A corporate T-Mobile rep said the 8120 is better cause it's got newer software than the Curve and the Curve and the first Pearl had a lot of "problems". But he didn't elaborate. Dave

The CA laws were put on the books about 2yrs ago. Previous to that there was no CA law. Previous to the law, T-Mobile allowed 30 days. After the law, which made it a mandatory 14 day minimum, T-Mobile went to 14 days! Thanks politicians! In your post, is there a typo? You stated "When you upgrade, the return period is only 30 days." Did you mean 14 days? David

Ok, about a year ago I renewed my contract (2yr) and upgraded to a Nokia 6103. Noticed after a few days that the reception audio was "choppy" a lot. Finally traced it to the car I was driving. In other words, the phone works fine in other cars, and other phones work fine in this car. Apparently the 6103 is suseptable to interference that my car is putting out. 23 days after renewing my contract I contacted T-Mobile. They told me ...

Re: antenna booster ~ how about Car Antennas
Jul 14, 2006, 12:18 AM
in the T-Mobile forum

It's mainly a frequency thing, so any carrier using 1800 or 1900 MHz will have the problem. It's pretty simple really...twice the frequency means about half the power, which means you need twice as many towers. The carriers using these frequencies do a decent job of provided coverage in open areas, but if you are in a building, there is not much they can do. I really can't "afford" to switch to another carrier because nobody can touch the minutes ...

No problem.... In the area I drive around in southern California, I come across many marginal areas (1 bar), and many buildings when inside I get no bars. There is nothing more annoying than when I'm responding to voicemails while driving, to have the call drop. And it may be just a pocket of road only about a half mile long! Then I have to leave the whole message over again! I've tried and returned many of T-Mobiles phones, and all of ...

Aside from this product.... Many phones have sort of hidden antenna jacks. Most Motorolas (my V180 series, my wifes V330, etc.) Sometimes you have to take the back off. Amazon sells external antennas, I bought one for my phone, but I couldn't find the adapter plug that fits. I've got the same problem as you. Marginal reception at home, and not at all inside a building at work. But how about car antennas? I used to see those all the time. How do ...

Re: What about sound?
May 3, 2006, 7:59 PM
in the Nokia 6103 / 6102i forum

FYI, the problem with the 6101 wasn't really the sound volume itself. If you had one, did you ever notice how the sound volume would sometimes be fine, and then sometimes really hard to hear? Well, the problem was really the opening into the speaker itself. If you look at the phone, the opening is literally a pinhole size. If this opening touches your pinna (the outer part of your ear), it will seal off the hole and your won't ...
