replace the Z10 ailing battery

I recently ordered an OEM battery to replace the Z10 ailing factory battery, however turns out its rubbish! Doesn't even last as long as the dying original one. My friend recommends a replacement from mpj, how many people have used this battery and what are your opinions on it? Thank you.

BlackBerry Porsche Design P'9981 For Sale

Porsche Design P'9981 is a smart phone from BlackBerry. The phone with the futuristic QWERTY keyboard was formerly known as the BlackBerry Knight. The device offers solid construction, for one thing with a forged stainless steel frame, leather back, and a sculpted QWERTY keyboard. The model is equipped with a exclusive Porsche Design UI and a Wikitude World Browser augmented reality app. Each unit of the P'9981 gets a premium PIN that allows the user of the device to find another P'9981 user in a crowd. Other specs include a single-core 1.2GHz processor, HD video capture and 8GB of native storage that can be pumped up to 40GB using a microSD card. The phone is NFC enabled and has BlackBerry 7 OS on board. That means the phone has the second-...

STILL worth it to buy BB???

With RIM on the ropes (they're on a list of companies that won't make it through 2012) would you recommend people still buy BBs or look elsewhere?

For those who are current BB users are your concerned?

What BB accessories do I REALLY need?

I will be a BB newbie next week (or today if I get an early delivery 🙂 ) and I am wondering if there are any essential/necessary accessories I should really get. One my shopping list thus far are a larger memory card, an Otterbox case, and one of BB's mono headsets (anyone have experience with these headsets?).

Please advise as to any accessories (or learning tools) I should consider to go with my new BB.

Thanks to all in advance.

BB vs. Android

Has anyone left Android for BB? OR are there any BB users here who are on the verge of being fed up after the recent RIM outage and are considering going to Android?

I am upgrading to a smartphone for the 1st time and am trying to make the best decision. Had pretty much decided on the BB Bold 9900 and right when I was going to buy it the RIM outage occurred and someone told me to look at Android instead. My issue with Android is security because it is a platform that is so easily hacked. ALL thoughts/opinions/comments welcome.

Sources to purchase unlocked Bold 9780

All,

Other than eBay does anyone have suggestions for online sources to purchase a BB Bold 9780 unlocked at a reasonable price?

Obviously I could go through my carrier (T-Mobile) but I do not want to get locked into another 2 years as I plan to move overseas in a couple of months. Open to all suggestions...

Thank you!

Blackberry Torch unlocking sim after too many attempts

I have a Blackberry Torch that my friend tried to unlock from att to Tmobile but he gave the person with the codes the wrong esn and he tried putting that wrong code in 10 times.
He was told that the phone can never be unlocked from att again. My question, is that true that it can never be unlocked for the sim again?

Blackberry Tablet announced

from BGR:

"Today, at the BlackBerry Developer Conference (DevCon), RIM CEO Mike Lazaridis announced the BlackBerry Playbook. The PlayBook has a 7-inch hi-res widescreen display, is 9.7 mm thick, supports Flash 10.1 with hardware accelerated video, HTML 5, 1080p video, has non-proprietary HDMI and USB connections, full-HD front and rear-facing camera, support for dual-displays (with use of HDMI cable), will be able to connect with BlackBerry Enterprise Servers out of the box via Bluetooth secure pairing to BlackBerry. The device will have a 1 GHz dual-core processor (with symmetrical multiprocessing capabilities) and 1 GB RAM."

Technically speaking, looks like a pretty decent device. No mention of what carrier (if any) it would be rele...

BB OS 6: what do you think?

I just got the Blackberry style and I'm really digging the OS 6. For me it has kept what I love about blackberrys and that's the icons!

Here are a few things I've noticed and loved or hated about the OS. Everyone is different so you may not have the same list but this is what I've come up with.

Overall Speed: Moving from one app to another is faster than it was on my previous blackberry's, and even then I wasn't complaining about the speed.

(BB Style specific)Front Screen Alerts: I think it's neat to be able to scroll through your new alerts witout having to open the phone since I frequently screen people!

Browser: I'm torn on this one. I love and hate the browsing experience. I really like that I can have tabs in the browser si...

What happened to you RIM?

I have been a Blackberry user for over a decade. My original device was a RIM 850. Slowly but surely I have seen the quality of Blackberry devices decline ever since then.

My current model (Tour 9630) is awful. I am awaiting my third replacement.

I post this not necessarily seeking a response but more of an open question to RIM: What happened to you? Quality control has gone to hell. Design, once cutting edge and well thought out is now slipshot.

Please RIM, get back to basics.....
